I have to say that a big part of why it was so enjoyable was the service . . . really, really, good! Our server was there at all of the right times, it was just perfect. And we can probably all agree that good service is very often non-existent in a dining establishment. One of us had the rack of lamb, one had a shrimp/steak combo, and one had the Chilean sea bass special. We shared one delicious shrimp appetizer and a dessert sampler. Everything was very, very good. It's a very noisy place, but sitting in a booth buffered some of the noise. We sat out on the front patio, and we were the only ones out there. But the waiter was most attentive, and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and the place was very hip and lively. The braised short ribs were outstanding.

The good is always wonderful, and the bloody mary's are very tasty. I was there with my family for a special occasion and we were put in the expansion room, and then kinda forgotten. The server may have been overwhelmed, I'm not sure but we had to keep asking for refills and there was a long wait to order and then get our food.

The servers seemed rushed, and it took over 2-1/2 hours to finish our meal and pay our bill. The waiter was very nice, but seemed a bit new at the job. He took our order promptly and had bread/water right away. A good start, but unfortunately never received our appetizer and weren't checked on often for water or bread. Also, the tables were rather squeezed together and I think my chair was hit by every waiter and busboy in the restaurant when they passed by.
The meals were great, the evening lovely and with a bit of fine tuning would be 5 stars. Unlike many restaurants that seem to "crank out" the food for mothers' day, we were not disappointed (as one often is on the 2nd visit). The food did come a little cold, but it was a holiday and morning. I am not sure this is normally a breakfast restaurant. We had dinner several months ago and this past weekend I took my wife here for Mothers Day breakfast. The wait staff is amazing, the manager is attentive and the ambience is amazing. They have a water fountain / stream / mini-lake that surrounds the restaurant and it makes for a great view. Have evening dinner with the flames blazing, outdoor heaters when needed and the sound and sight of running water and it makes for a romantic evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant. By the way, Mothers Day morning all the women were given a red rose when seated. The restaurant decor is lovely with warm lighted candelabras and candle sconces everywhere, dark upholstery and a very romantic, intimate feel. The service is excellent. The service was really incredible, and for the most part, the food was fine. I did not like my particular choice, oatmeal as it came cold. I don't know whether it was because of the people we were with, or the restaurant as a whole, but it was really great and we will absolutely be back!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been going to MediterraneoWe've been going to Mediterraneo several times a year since it opened. The food was always acceptable, not noteworthy though. We enjoyed the patio by the lake for summer dining, and our visits were usually during good weather.
We went Sat. night and sat in the new patio. Ther was a hicup in the stating of service, as we sat for a while after being seated. A word to the manager brought immediate attention and our waiter Steve (not our originally asssigned waiter). Service was good from there forward.
Apparently they have new staff in the kitchen becuase this was the best meal we've ever had a Mediterraneo, which we now consider a food destination place.
