Diner Reviews
  • "We have dined at Mediterraneo many times and the food is always delicious. Being frequent diners, we would ask that the restaurant consider adding some new/different choices to the menu. The specials offered just aren't enough for those of us who go to the restaurant frequently. The service was impeccable and I highly recommend, for indoor dining, that you request the second room rather than dining in the first section - it's MUCH quieter."

  • "Food was wonderful and our server was great. We had a small issue with one of our dishes and the manager took care of us and we ordered 3 desserts and they graciously comped one of them. Would definitely return."

  • "They service, food and general ambience were great. 3 out of 4 people at our booth were over 6 feet, and they gave us maybe the smallest booth I have ever been in. we were very cramped, but the rest was very good. Just don't get the last booth by the window."

  • "great location, good food, well-curated menu choices ... the linguine with clams was outstanding! prices are in line with other quality restaurants in the area friendly, hard-working staff ..."

  • "We have dined at Mediterraneo several times in the past 2 or 3 years. The service has always been excellent, the food truly great and the atmosphere is relaxing, but still pretty lively. The steaks are great and the artichoke appetizer is a winner!"

  • "Took my friend here for her birthday. Everything was perfect and the staff great. Had a wonderful shady table outside and was a beautiful day. I had a wonderful salad. My friend enjoyed her day. Open table was perfect with the reservation. I had mentioned it was my friends birthday and they brought a dessert with sparkler on it."

  • "Lovely location but the food was average. In particular the "wood-fired" artichokes had no wood fired flavor, and although visually trimmed to the heart had many tough inedible leaves."

  • "Smallish portions, but the food and service were very good."

  • "Everything was perfect except I ordered my Rib Eye steak rare and it came out medium. Major mistake for a restuarant of this caliber and price. Everything else was very good, the service was better than normal and we enjoyed our evening and if we were'nt going to a show I would have sent the steak back to be done correctly."

  • "First visit to Mediterraneo for Sunday Brunch and it was enjoyable. The menu choices were good but the food (at least mine) was just so-so. It was an egg scramble and wasn't warm which detracted from its flavor. The fruit served with it was the same old tired melon mixture with a strawberry thrown in for color. I especially do not like crunchy, unripe melon and that's what I got. Server was lovely, took time to snap a few pictures of my group of 4, and she was attentive to our needs. All in all, I would definitely return. I like the restaurant and its location and have enjoyed lunch and dinner there on several occasions (last Christmas Eve being one of them)."

  • " Mediterraneo is an energetic restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a terrific ambience. My family and I enjoyed the lamb appetizer, wedge and Caesar salads, as well as the brick chicken and steak frites entrees. Wines by the glass were nice and prices were reasonable. This is an excellent choice for a tasty dinner with a wonderful view when in Westlake Village."

  • "Our waiter was very good; busboys were ill-trained as in many other SoCal restaurants. Reaching in front of one guest to serve the other; asking who gets which dish (they should know before getting to the table); not noticing empty water glasses; not replacing cleared off utensils and bread plates; picking up too early or leaving dirty dishes on the table. Kudos for management for giving us a nice free dessert for our special occasion we celebrated. Nice outdoor ambience too."

  • "This was a great way to celebrate my friend. We ate outside and it was lovely. The staff is the best and they treat you like royalty. It is one of my favorite places in Westlake Village because of the outdoor dining option."

  • "The restaurant is between a wine garden and night club, smack in the middle. Valet parking was great. Atmosphere was great. Portions were smaller than expected. Service was great, even the GM came by to ask how the evening was. I'd go back again definitely."

  • "We took my Mom and Step Dad here to celebrate a belated Father's Day. The waitress was excellent. She was funny, engaging, very knowledgeable about the menu and successfully recommended wines based on our preferences. I loved that we weren't interrupted very 10 minutes but that she definitely had an eye on us for when we needed refills or plates removed. Over all it was an excellent experience, as it has been every time we've dined here. I would not hesitate to bring clients here or other family/friends. Thank you for a gorgeous experience!"

  • "Was disappointed. Took forever to get some bread delivered to table! Waiter stated $3. add'l charge to split the two entrees we ordered if kitchen splits it. we agreed but it turned out to be $3. for each dish!! I complained and mgr removed one $3.00 charge. My fish came too well done and new piece was reordered. Too many other places to try and I probably will not return."

  • "We sat on the patio facing the water, heavenly!! Service was great, but strangely we had to ask for bread twice, usually bread and tapenade come out right away. All the food was great. The Brick chicken was delicious, the seasoning was great. The sole special was excellent and both the Rustica salad and Arancini were delicious too. Would definitely return. We were there at 5pm and hopefully the service will be as attentive later in the evening. Love that I got 1000 pts with open table!!!"

  • "The bread is warm & crusty, soft on the inside, very airy, perfect for the tapenade served with it. The wood grilled artichoke hearts served with aioli have such a hint of char and are served with a grilled lemon half. It is consistently good each time I order it. I tasted the locally caught grilled sea bass served on a bed of artichoke and potato hash and it was delicious also. My husband and I shared the 12 oz. Ribeye steak with chimichurri sauce. It came cooked medium rare just as ordered and was flavorful and tender. The soft-shell crab salad which has a light dressing, watermelon radishes and avocado is yummy. Spencer was our server on the patio and he could not have been better. The Stonehaus Pinot Noir is smooth & light."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurant"s in the Westlake Village area. It is upscaled but relaxed and a great place to take quests. There are two different patios and a beautiful inside room. Perfect for lunch or dinner and my very favorite for breakfast.(I like my coffee served in a silver pot and a tablecloth) The bar is perfect for small plates or famous burger!"

  • "We were fans of the restaurant when they first opened. We loved it then they changed chefs and we stopped going. We took a chance again and were delighted to see Mediteraneo is back. The food was fresh and beautifully flavored. The service was top rate. After dinner we went to rhe vineyard/coffe shop. The energy was great. We will return. Thanks. "

  • "The location on the back patio with water view is great, but both service and food are lacking. We had to chase the waiter to get our iced tea refilled at lunch, and their signature Mediterraneo salad was rather blah. Much prefer Zin and Bocaccio's, both nearby."

  • "I made a reservation for a very special occasion with my girlfriend. I ordered flowers thru Open Table and they were PERFECT! Service was attentive and the food flavorful! Next time I think we'll try the patio (assuming the weather is favorable). Yes...a great place!"

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary there. It happened to be on Tuesday and they had a free corkage fee on Tuesday. We brought a fine bottle of wine, drank it up over the great meal and ambience and fell in love with each other all over again."

  • "I had been to Mediterraneo for lunch and really liked it so we wanted to try dinner. The location is wonderful. We had a nice table on the patio by the pond. We started with the mussels and a lettuce wedge. Both were very good. My husband ordered the Branzino special. Also delicious. I made the mistake of ordering the ribeye. It truly was the worst piece of meat I have ever eaten. I sent it back. It was taken off our bill and should be taken off the menu. In the end I had a bowl of soup for dinner. Not what I had in mind. I will return. Now I know what to order. "

  • "Great outdoor dining. Good, friendly wait staff. Appetizers are lacking in flavor & quantity for price. Valet overtaken by Stonehaus customer's. 1 of 4 was happy with entree."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Mediterraneo with our two teenage boys, my mother and the girlfriend of our older son. The ambiance is nice and warm, and the menu was able to satisfy everyone. They surprised us with two wonderful desserts with festive sparklers in them to top off the meal. It was a great dinner enjoyed by all! "

  • "Had the opportunity to eat late on the patio. Great experience since we could here the live band next door. Moved to the comfort chairs next to the fireplace for dessert. Great way to end the dining experience. Highly recommended. "

  • "We went to lunch at Mediterraneo for a pre-Mother's Day lunch. We were seated in the outside covered area at the front of the restaurant. This was perfect for our 17 month old grandson who was able to walk around to the water features (stream, waterfall, fountain, etc) without disturbing other diners. The service was accommodating and pleasant and the food excellent. We never felt rushed, making for a perfect, leisurely meal."

  • "This restaurant is beautiful with comfortable boots and tables. Some of the tables are a little close together though. The food ranks up there with the best. I had the Filet Mignon that was so tender and full of flavor. My son had the Ribeye which was cooked to perfection. Even the spaghetti and meatballs had a wonderful sauce and the meatballs were out of this world. This review would have been all 5s except for the service. At the prices charged here, I would expect that the servers would have been more attentive. There were times that we had to wait 15 minutes for refills on iced tea or to have empty plates taken away. This was our first time here so we will definitely give this restaurant another chance.Hopefully with better service."

  • "I was invited to a business dinner and asked to pick the place. I wanted something nice but not extravagent since it was on their nickel. I had been to the Wine bar next door numerous times and knew that it was a lovely spot. Turns out the my host was a bit of a wine and food connoisseur and really loved the place. In fact commented that when he returns to town, he will make that a regular stop. It was great to make such a nice first impression on a potential business associate. "

  • "My husband and I came here for my birthday this past weekend. We were very pleased with every aspect of the restaurant. The view is beautiful, the service top notch and the breakfast was delicious. I have told many of my friends about how great it was. We will be back soon."

  • "The food was fantastic, but the service was slow, albeit nice. Our 3 course dinner took about 2 hours because the food and service was at a snails-pace. What was lacking in timliness was certainly made up for in taste The roasted artichoke appetizer is to die for. As is the brick chicken. Our waitress was sweet enough to comp us dessert because of the slow service. My only complaint, the restaurant did not "check us in" which caused me not to get the 1,000 open table points. I think it is a trick so the restaurant does not have to pay. However, Opentable was great, and we got our points! Lastly, if you want the "nice" patio area, you need to make a special request. Otherwise, you will be sitting inside or the "bad" patio area. "

  • "My wife and I met another couple for the first time over dinner at Mediterraneo. Neither of us had been there for dinner before, only business lunches and breakfasts. The place was hopping - full, lively and with good reason. The swordfish and monkfish meals we had were excellent, the salads and desserts quite tasty. While it was too cool to enjoy the outside seating, it would be a wonderful setting on a warm night."

  • "My wife and I made a last minute reservation after the wind and rain kicked up next door. We found the food to be great, the service was good(staff was busy, seemed short-handed for the night), the place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was a little loud for my taste, but I have a hard time hearing in loud environments anyways. Overall, we'll definitely make this restaurant on our list to come back too. "
