Diner Reviews
  • "Always great food and ambiance. Drink pour was VERY light. A $13 Hendricks on the rocks was about 2-3 sips at best. I didn't order another because of the weak pour. The bartenders tip was measured like my pour- light."

  • "Mediterraneo is one of the best local restaurants! Our party of 4 ate on the outside patio and the food was delicious and the server (Jose and his staff) were exceptional. We love going to Mediterraneo and enjoy the delicious food and service. Would recommend Mediterraneo would everyone. A true find!"

  • "We eat here often and never disappoints. Sat night the special was Monk Fish wrapped in prosciutto with artichoke hearts and potato gnocchi. It was fantastic--I don't like the taste of garlic so the chef made the lemon caper sauce special for us without the garlic. Really nice and great service."

  • "Good food and a respectable choice of wines by the glass. Valet parking on a Saturday night (between three restaurants and a hotel) was a bit crazy. I'd recommend this place on a weeknight... I think half of Conejo Valley goes here on weekends. We had a reservation and decided to sit on the patio. It got cold very quickly and the busboys had trouble igniting the heater."

  • ".We came to dinner this past weekend hoping that the restaurant would be as wonderful as the grounds it is located on. The service was not great, no water was ever refilled, nobody asked how the meal was. The meal itself was visibly dull. The steak was done perfect but served on a white plate with aioli (tasted like mayo!) and a side bowl of fries. Would it have been too difficult to serve with a piece of parsley and cherry tomato? The Caesar salad was horrible, not sure what the taste was but something tasted like sesame. We returned for breakfast and ordered the Power breakfast which was very good but visually dull again. (I never knew that presentation meant so much!). The service was wonderful."

  • "Restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent. We both ordered the chicken entrees and were very happy with our dinners. Service was alright. Our waitress didn't seem like she enjoyed her job very much."

  • "My wife and I were up in Thousand Oaks this past weekend for the L'Etape du California. We were looking for a quiet dining experience with great food and service and found it on the front patio of Mediterraneo. Before a race, I like a good pasta meal, not too heavy in cream but a good pasta with a lighter sauce. It was perfecto. My wife enjoyed her seafood plate and we split a great salad. Of course we had to enlighten the experience with a glass of great pinot noir. The service was fantastic and the fire with the big chimney was an added bonus. great job Mediterraneo...and we kept within the budget!"

  • "Worst of all, the service! On each visit, the service was horrible. I had to get up not once, but many times to ask the the hostess to get our waiter after waiting a great deal of time for his/her return throughout the evening. Truly, pathetic. I will not recommend the place, but rather guide friends away from dining at Mediterraneo. A lovely location. Seating options, inside fun environment, outside patio/ water, outside front patio/ fireplace. I have given Mediterraneo three opportunities. Each time, so disappointed. Pasta and meat sauce good. Other items served to the party of 7 were at best, only fair. Portions/ small, presentation/ lacking. The salmon was placed on a plate with no garnish or even the smallest side dish."

  • "First the good: excellent meal, setting promptly and attended to without delay. However, we went on a Sat. night and while they now have valet parking the parking lot was crowded. There is also a small self parking area (it was full.) Our server was prompt but then started clearing dishes before we were all done…even reaching across the two of us who were still eating (we were a party of 4) to clear the plates of the two who had finished! It was rude and also felt very rushed. The restaurant was noisy/busy. We probably will choose to eat elsewhere on a weekend night but still highly recommend their food. The salads were excellent and I had a very tender tasty filet mignon. We shared a nice sorbet and a yummy carrot cake for dessert."

  • "We eat at Mediterraneo all the time ... lunch, dinner, whenever you go it is great. I highly recommend the Greek salad for lunch and the Pan Plano for dinner! Fun place, great food, generally good service. Definitely a favorite!"

  • "My girlfriend and I love getting out of LA and coming to the Westlake Village Inn and Mediterraneo. The food is great, the services is awesome and the portions are very big considering the upscale nature of the food."

  • "We love to come here when the weather is good for the view of the lake. The ambiance is really the best in the area. The waiters are attentive, the food is consistently good, and the prices reasonable. Very recommended, especially for lunch and brunch."

  • "I met a friend there for dinner and we chose to sit outside on the beautiful back patio area. The menu has changed over time, and while I miss some entrees and sides, we both really enjoyed the quinoa and kale salad. For entrees, we both ordered pasta dishes. I ordered the Cauliflower and Carbonara and while I rarely order carbonara, the orecchiette pasta, cauliflower, bread crumbs and carbonara sauce blended together wonderfully into a scrumptious dish. My friend ordered the tagliatelle bolognese, and it was also very tasty. We ended the meal splitting the "florentine art" - a delicious creamy, berry filled carmelized almond pastry 'Bowl'. Glad I gave Mediterraneo another chance after a couple of very disappointing experiences."

  • "Everything about it is top notch! Whenever we go out to dinner, I want to now come here! And an added touch, it stopping by Stonehaus after dinner for a glass of wine & a firepit!"

  • "The restaurant is very pleasant. The food was good, but not great. My reservation was for 7:00 p.m. and they had already run out of the fish special for the evening. I had asked for a nice table since it was a birthday celebration and was put into a booth for two that was so small there was hardly any room on the table for the food and glassware. On a positive note, our waitress, Brittany was very good. Very attentive and helpful."

  • "I love the calming atmosphere of the outdoor seating and ambience. The food is amazing. My favourite dish is the Pan Plano salad with Salmon and Arugla served on a flat bread. It's so amazing I can't seem to try anything new and order the same everytime! I always take home leftovers and still eat them hours later! It's a very elegant place so great for intimate dinners/lunches and can be romantic if that's the occasion. Very welcoming to all types of people and ages. Great professoinal attentive service. I'd recomend this restuarant for all occassions and to anyone. It's definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Westlake Village."

  • "Nice place, No so nice Cioppino. No flavor, very salty. The place did not seem busy, but they appear to be busy maybe short staffed. Once they served us the never came back to check on our food. The waiter had an assistant and only he would bring us a meal. While waiting for our dinner another table sent back their food. Now I know why."

  • "Service: had to ask for a server to come to the table. Once the server showed up he was excellent. Food: good heuvos rancheros..good salsa and beans, potatoes were not a good choice for it our bad..plate looked kinda bare and unattractive Do again: no...not exceptional though the atmoshere was lively"

  • "The food was delicious, the server was efficient, intelligent and fun, and the ambience lovely if a little too dark. My main concern is the price of the wines which I think is way out of line. A glass of cabernet cost me $18.00, and I could almost buy a comparable bottle for that price at a wine store. However, my pasta was tasty and deep-flavored, and the filet I had last time was perfectly done and very flavorful. We'll come back on a Tuesday, when corkage is free."

  • "Great friendly service. Food is delicious. We shared the wood fired baby artichokes, the wedge, and the short ribs. Yum! Though not the best food of all time, it was packed with flavor & hit the spot. We're almost 40 & found this restaurant for a post theater catch up session. A touch noisy, but that didn't ruin anything. We had a booth & it felt like we were in our own world away from the Saturday night chaos. We returned the next morning for brunch & enjoyed the experience fully."

  • "We went for lunch and there were sandwiches, salads and entrees, so lots of choices. We started with the split pea soup - it had a lot of ham but they threw all the pieces in the soup even the extremely fatty pieces and the outside rind. The soup was good once we avoided eating the meat in it. Also had a pizza which was very good - thin crust and just enough topping. One person had a half sandwich w/caesar salad. Substantial portion and he said it was really good."

  • "We booked this restaurant for NYE because we were attending the ball on the same property and had a booked a room as well. So everything was walking distance. The place was festive, the service was great, and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back."

  • "New Year's Eve can be dicey, even in the best of restaurants, but not so here. Our table awaited us, and service was perfect. My salmon was a large slab, crusted on the outside and hot and tender when you bit into it. It came on a bed of puréed butternut squash and spinage - all cooked perfectly. The decorations for New Years were festive and we appreciated the noise level being moderate enough to hear each other talk."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Always cautious about restaurants on NYE, been stuck with too many Prix Fix menus and rushed seating's - BUT NOT this time! Menu was great (seemed like the normal full menu) with some good specials. Good service, delicious food and a wide wine selection."

  • "is when we went, adding it to our Westlake Village Inn/Bogie's Party Package. This was our second visit. Food was impeccably prepared and served. I did not indicate that the place is kid-friendly because I don't want it to be! This is a great place for a couple, or for large groups. I also did not rate it as romantic because it does not offer booths or quiet tables separated by considerable distances; we go because of the active, vibrant atmosphere but we don't consider Mediterraneo to be noisy. We expected a prix fixe menu on New Year's Eve, but they had their usual broad choices, which was a nice surprise."
