I have no idea how often the chef features fresh Caribbean mahi-mahi, but the special last night was the best mahi-mahi I have ever tasted! A nice sized piece of fish arrived hot, with oven wilted greens & couscous, all smothered perfectly with a light mushroom-based sauce. I am not doing it justice with this description, but it was a five-star dish! Unfortunately it is not on the menu and was a special of the night, but if you luck out, do not hestitate--get it! On menu was a bouillabaisse, which my wife got. A generous amount of mussels and salmon coupled with fennel and an amazing broth made this another fantastic dish. Charlie, our server, was extremely personable. Thanks for a great, great meal. Hope more find you! We will be back.

Not crowded on Thursday early evening -- didn't need a reservation. The all-you-can-eat muscles and pom frites on Thursday is worth the trip -- not that I could eat more than one generous, delicious serving. The flounder was fresh and perfectly cooked and the salads were wonderful. They were out of the wine we ordered, but brought a similar, more expensive wine at the price of the first choice. They are looking for repeat customers. Count us among them.

For many years we enjoyed this restaurant under Jacques' ownership. The old restaurant had French charm and mad us feel we were in France for a few hours. We really wanted the new owner to succeed but we almost done trying to make that happen. The new restaurant has zero charm. The service is so heavy-handed and in your face that it makes us uncomfortable. The air conditioning doesn't work. The food is good but not remarkable and considering the cost is simply not worth the price, even with coupons. This is such a shame as this neighborhood needs this restaurant to work.

Mediterranee is under new ownership and management. Candidly, we miss Jacques (the original owner and culinary inspiration) and the prior staff, but either his chef has remained or someone else has learned the recipes perfectly. The menu has been shortened, probably because it was much too extensive for such a small establishment and must have resulted in a lot of waste. We do, however, miss some of the more "exotic" dishes such as the squid in black ink and anything with frisse; but our favorites are still on the menu. This is absolutely a restaurant worth a foodie's attention. The prices are reasonable for the quality.

We tried Mediterrannee on a weekday night -- sort of a parents night to get out and have some adult conversation and good food. The conversation was welcome -- and the food was really excellent. We live close by, so it seemed a good place to try. We definitely will be back. The mussels were almost as good as the bowl of mussels I had this summer in Port-en-Bessin (Normandy), and the prix-fixe menu seems to be well rounded. Recommended!

My husband and I had our second visit to the Mediterranee Restaurant in Great Falls, this week, since it went under new owners. So far they are 2 for 2. We very much enjoyed our dinners. My husband had bean soup, mussels and bread pudding and I had feta cheese salad with a chicken entree and a fruit flambe for dessert. We shared all dishes and everything was delicious. While we don't go out for dinner very often we hope to visit the Mediteranee again soon.

We returned to this restaurant after being very disappointed with our dinner in February. The food was good and the service has improved. It lacks ambiance. all the pictures and decorations from the previous owner are gone, and the restaurant now seems to have bare walls. I hope it continues to improve.

What a treat to dine with staff who enjoy their work and are pleased to be in the moment instead of wishing they were anywhere else. It's so obvious when servers are resentful of doing their jobs. That attitude colors the best of foods and will turn clients away. Not so at this small, intimate restaurant where the delicious food matched the delight of the staff. A pleasant experience and we are looking forward to returning again & again.

We'll want to visit a few more times to solidify our opinion, but this restaurant appears to have slipped a bit. The meal was okay -- not great, as it once was at Mediterranee -- but the prices haven't kept pace with the decline. Our waiter was too much in-your-face, as well.

This was a local gem for years. Owner sold, new owners trying hard but not tthe same. It sold suddenly and it seems everyone stopped going. Third vist since new ownership. Decor has been removed creating a more open feel rather than a french bistro, not an issue for us. Food was tasty but not quite polished. Corn, Mango and Avocado salad was soupy and avocado was meshed to much. Taste was good not excellant. Beet salad was again mashed beets held togeather with ? mayo?, would rather have cubes of beets. Flouder fish portion was small, but good flavor and served with kale hardly cooked and bland. Fruit desert was tasty but tiny pieces of fruits, soupy, and no ice cream as advertised - whip cream and was soupy. A/C not working very well.

my wife and i celebrated our 40th anniversary with the fixed-price hanger steak dinners--- PERFECT. yes we could have gone some place much more elegant (and expensive) but the food and service would not have been better--- portions are sensibly sized (but still PLENTY) and in the traditional French bistro tradition the elegance is in the simplicity. we love this place--- the only thing wrong with it is that it is not in Leesburg were we live, or we would probably have our own "regular" table here on some certain night of the week!

First visit under new ownership. The menu has been trimmed but retains many items from previous. The service has improved with "Charlie" being very outgoing. The food is similar-French bistro-ish but without many items that one associates with traditional French bistro: roasted chicken, quenelles, profiterole etc. It does have mussels and a steak and frite. My wife ordered the flounder w lemon/caper which was not available so it was replaced with cod w onion/tomato/caper. The fish was good tho overpowered by the large and numerous capers. My bouillabaisse was bland: 2 types of fish pieces and some mussels-no detectable saffron. My pate was better than the old and my wifes grilled feta salad was good. The bread pudding tasted old.

I've been to Mediterranee several times under the new management and enjoyed it each time. We were one of only two tables with patrons this visit. This visit was a definite disappointment. The server brought us menus and told us there was no quiche as they had no eggs. After he took our order for luncheon salads we waited and waited. We finally asked for some bread and were told they had none since they had been busy the previous evening and ran out and were just now starting to make more. On the plus side, our salads were good. However, given the indifferent way in which we were told about being out of eggs and bread, I'm not certain I'll return soon.

Effusive greetings, would have preferred less enthusiasm. when ordering we were told the freezer was broken and they had no ice cream or sorbet. One of our wine orders was wrong and not even close. The waiter said he really didn't know anything about wine. Skirt steak was tough and salty. Disapointing evening.

There are few dining options in Great Falls and, at first glance, this cozy French bistro looks inviting. We had been here a couple of years ago and it was fine, so we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, this place was half empty during the peak dinner hour for a reason. The food was mediocre and the service was simply amateurish. We felt so uncomfortable with the overall experience that we couldn't wait to leave.

Apparently under new management, this Great Falls gem is worth the trip. An excellent menu with a choice of prie fixe or a la carte is available. The stall is welcoming, helpful, and attentive. Try the side order of Fries (in the fine Belgian tradition) or one of the many interesting and tasty salads. Excellent fresh fish is always a great choice. The wine list is adequate and moderately priced. Wishing this restaurant was still in its Arlington location, but well worth the drive.

Service and food was decent. My only complaint was when I asked for fresh pepper for my fries, the waiter didn't listen when I asked him to stop putting more pepper on, and gave me 3-4 more turns of pepper, which ended up making for overly-pepper fries--I couldn't even eat over half of them! Don't know why he didn't listen when I asked him to stop--that messed up my french fry experience!
