  • "My husband and I have eaten here quite a bit. The food is always wonderful. They serve fresh, locally sourced protein and vegetables from farms in the area. Our favorite item is the bruschetta that changes seasonally. On our last visit, we had bruschetta with apples, fennel, and brie. If you plan to eat here on a weekend though, make sure to book a reservation in advance. This restaurant is definitely one of our favorites, and you can't beat the atmosphere of Princeton either. "

  • "We dined early on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The wait staff were engaging, not overly attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was presented artfully, and flavors and textures were well balanced. I can see why this is a favorite of locals."

  • "Good lunch menu with a wide selection of salads. Lamb burger was an unexpected treat, and nice addition to the usual burger platter. Baba Ganoush and Hummus combination platter was exceptional. Excellent venue for wine tasting with lots of intelligent banter from pretty people. Service was spot on without being obsequious. I would not recommend the Italian dishes, lot's of restaurants do it better"

  • "I was impressed that on a busy Saturday night I was seated right away, and the wait staff was attentive and did not seem hurried. The food came in a timely maner and was delicious."

  • "My second visit to Mediterra was just as good as my first. Great food, good bar scene, good outdoor seating, excellent for kids, families, as well as for a couple looking for a romance. A gem in Princeton."

  • "Typical middle market, gastro-pub fare. Hard to screw up burgers and fried eggs. Great outdoor patio with pleasant campus and town views. Expensive wines by the glass. But all that said, probably the best in this category..."

  • "Husband loved steak. Girlfriend loved sea bass. Chicken was a little over flavored to my liking and very fatty piece of chicken for such a nice place. Wish i tried pork or fish. Salad with cranberries and nuts was very good. Great to eat outside and even if not outside they open the doors across the front of restaurant"

  • "Good location in Princeton and a solid place for lunch."

  • "Even after living in this area for 12 years and dining in Princeton on a number of occasions, I had never been to Mediterra before. Boy, was I missing out. The food and service were absolutely fantastic. Parking could not have been easier as there is a garage across the street, and the restaurant will validate the ticket so parking is free. My entree price was $29.00 which is comparable to nicer restaurants in the area, and this is a nicer restaurant. No burgers and fries here. Totally a romantic spot, perfect for date night. I would not bring my children here, but it's not so high end that you couldn't bring your kids when they get a little older. Highly recommend for an excellent over all experience."

  • "Everyone in our party of 4 people loved the 4 fish dishes we ordered."

  • "We have dined here quite often; however, this time we were a party of 8. Mediterra was very accommodating as I originally book for a party of 6 and at almost the last minute changed it to 8. Food is always delicious."

  • "Love Mediterra for lunch where the noise level is low. Food is bright and clean and tasty. Evenings are noisy and it's hard to have a conversation. It doesn't detract from the food, but does detract from the "experience.""

  • "Have been to Mediterra several times. The food is always very good, but it is really loud in the dining room. This time three others and I were seated around a table for four, and I could barely hear the person sitting next to me, much less the person across the table. And we were there on a Tuesday night! Maybe it was just an unusually loud crowd that evening, but based on this experience I would recommend that if you are having dinner here, be prepared to yell if you want to have a conversation."

  • "I like this restaurant a lot because the food is always good, with competent and friendly service and a really good ambiance. I started with a dozen oysters from Mass which were excellent. I followed with the Octopus appetizer as a main course, because for me it is more the size of a main course. I probably order it way too often but I love it. Finished with the molten chocolate cake and that is also very good. The bread basket is very good with a nice variety and some nice dipping oil. Josh was our server and he provided excellent service with a friendly attitude. I will be back."

  • "We came out to Princeton University to visit our daughter for her birthday and chose Mediterra. We have been there several times and are never disappointed. Food/Service/Ambiance all an A. Alexa helped to make this birthday celebration a memorable one. She took care of all my needs over the phone."

  • "This is a lovely place for l unch with a variety of plates--from a burger with fries to light and tasty soups and salads. I've only been there in rainy or cold weather but I imagine the terrace is a nice place to eat."

  • "A nice-looking place in a prestigious location. Restaurant and bar are visually appealing. I felt the noise level in the restaurant was too high . It must be very expensive to operate in the center of Princeton, putting a lot of pressure on the bottom line. I ordered short ribs. They were good, not great. They were served over potato/parsnip puree which was one step thicker than potato soup. More like a sauce. Had Caesar salad as a starter. Nice presentation and fresh, but lacked character. Croutons were the best part. My wife had the White Bean soup as a starter with Chicken Cacciatore as entrée and was similarly unimpressed. Wines by the glass were decent. Service adequate, but unpolished. Overall experience was not on par with the cost."

  • "A reunion of two old friends from college days. We ate early and found a peaceful atmosphere where we could talk. By the time we left, around 7:30, the place was busy and getting louder and crowded. Go early if you want quie,t particularly on a Friday night. The food was good. We only had the main course and coffee and that was plenty."

  • "Mediterra is a popular bisro right in the middle of Princeton's Palmer Square. We like but don't love the food. We like the style but the noise level is higher that I like. Best bet is go for drinks and tapas."

  • "I always enjoy Mediterra. It's reliable. It has a great menu. The food is always fresh and tasty! A fresh basket of bread comes with your meal. It is an attractive space. The service is good!"

  • "This was our second experience at Mediterra and although we had a nice time, the food is lacking that certain something which seperates good from great. We shared 2 entrees, duck breast and vegetarian dhal stew. Although both were cooked properly they lacked something I can't quite put my finger on."

  • "The Terra Momo resturants are always a good choice. Their food sourcing and preparation is great. And they always have an exciting and interestinig wine list as well as a great Bar. This is my favorite place in Princeton and the area!!"

  • "The food and wine were absolutely perfect and so was our server. Unfortunately, we were continuously being disturbed by the owner/manager (not sure who he was - had a strong accent). He just paces the entire restaurant and will stand over your shoulder to check on your table. It got to the point that we started timing how often he came to our table. The result? 3-5mins! He even came over and turned my plate around because he didnt like the way my steak was facing. Again, we loved our meal and would highly recommed the food but we were most definitely turned off by the extreme measures taken."

  • "I am not from the area. I only met a friend half way between where she and I live. That meant I had to turn to Open Table and something about this place jumped out. It was a little loud but we started to tune that out. Not too bad. Great food and lovely atmosphere!"

  • "Our first visit to the Mediterra. Friday night with friends and we were prime for a great location, atmosphere, food and cheer. Everything was fantastic - we left proclaiming a return visit soon. We did note, however, that the location of our table played into the enjoyment of the atmosphere. Our table, located in the bar area near the large window area, allowed us to partake in the upbeat ambience of the bar area without losing the sense of personal conversation. Loved it!!!"

  • "Mediterra is one of a family group of restaurants whose owners have figured it out that cheerfully and professionally serving well-prepared and imaginative food is a great way to fill a restaurant. Fine staff. Unfailingly good food."

  • "I hosted three out of towners from Texas and they all enjoyed terrific cuisine and ambience. We split the paella - superbly prepared and presented. The homemade pasta with bolognese was delicate and nuanced as always. Sampled the tapas to begin - waiter's choice, all wonderful. A great meal."

  • "The tables are a little packed in together making for a noisy but energetic environment. Not the place for a romantic dinner, at least not on a Saturday night. The food and wine were excellent. Started with the Lamb spare ribs and they were out of this world. I had the short ribs. They were tasty and tender. She had the snapper and said it was wonderful and fresh. The house Chianti was very good. Overall it is a little on the pricey side but i'll never complain when it is worth it. Walked out very happy."

  • "Great Service for a party of 6 on a Friday night - sommelier pitching in to recommend (unsolicited) menu dishes. Good Wine List and lovely decor. Had appetizers, entrees and dessert - all were fine though portions were a bit smaller than first expected but turned out to be just the right amount. Overall, dishes were all tasty but nothing absolutely stunning. Very solid restaurant with good food and a lively atmosphere. Would go again and recommend to others."

  • "We had a very nice time at Mediterra. The servers were really nice and personable (though it did seem like there was a little confusion as to which one was ours/if we already ordered). The food was really good. The orders took a little while to get to us, and it took a little extra time at the end to get a dessert menu, but other than that it was great!"

  • "Personally traveling to Spain, Italy, and France last summer my wife and i were in the mood to "relive" some of those great nights. Mediterra delivered. Excellent wine selection, great pork chop entree with awesome brussel sprout side. My wife enjoyed the fresh pasta Bolognese, which was fresh and full of flavor. For an appetizer we had bruschetta with apple and brie. Fire grilled bread, fresh bruschetta was a great start to the meal. And the dessert trio finished it off great. Only thing.. make sure you get reservations..(hence why you are reading open table) when we arrived for our 6:45 reservation, a party of two was ahead of us, and they told them they couldn't be seated until around 9pm. We of course were sat right way."

  • "This is by far one of our favorite if not our favorite place to dine in Princeton. The food and wine is fabulous. The service is top notch and this last visit they were so attentive to us for our birthday celebrations ! However the service is always great. The wine that Franco helped us choose was the best we have had in a long time and we asked for a reasonably priced bottle. It was perfect. We will continue to make Mediterra our favorite spot for all occasions."

  • "Within walking distance (accross the street) from Palmer Square. Inside and outdoor dining with an upscale menu with daily specials. Bit pricey, but it is Princeton. Lunch came without salad or any sides other then bread and dipping oil. No wine or drinks, came to $40 + tip. Food is well prepared and service is attentive. In and out in an hour.... or you can linger."
