A word from Meddlesome Moth
The Meddlesome Moth is Dallas’ most interesting full service restaurant, featuring an honest and flavorful chef driven menu, full service bar, and one of the finest selections of hand-crafted beers in the US. In addition to a changing selection of entrees, our small plates are robustly promoted to encourage sharing. We feature local seasonal menu items and offer fresh blackboard specials daily. Our patio area is spacious for dining al fresco, and reservations are encouraged. At 11pm The Moth transforms into one of Dallas' most comfortable bars and remains so until 2am, Thursday thru Saturday. Closing time is midnight otherwise.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Meddlesome Moth serves inventive pub grub, which, while not necessarily "to-die-for good," is more than above average. There would be something for everyone in terms of menu options - ranging from traditional pub-grub, small plates and even heartier options for those who are "hungrier.""

  • "We dined at 930pm on a Thursday. Food time was quick, but the cod & chips was too greasy to eat. Service was fast at first- but toward the end of the meal it was extremely slow. We asked for a check when the entrees came and explained we were in a rush, but our server didn't pick it up to run our card until entrees were gone and 10 min had passed. We asked for a "to go" box, and never received after waiting an additional 15 minutes and finally gave up and left."

  • "I have been to the Moth many times and the food and service is always great. This is a great place for foodies and for people that like to share a bunch of dishes. They have great beers and great cocktails."

  • "Really enjoy the Moth. Food is always good. Wine list is decent and reasonably priced. And of course the beer selections are fabulous. Service was excellent this time. Good follow up. Great place for a nosh (shareables) or a full meal."

  • "Wish I could have had the beer. will go back after work one day"

  • "Enjoyed the speciality drinks. Tons of appetizer type dishes to share. The 7oz filet was wonderful and just the right size. Will certainly be going back."

  • "Second time I've been there for brunch. The coffee is French pressed on the table, and the specials always look fantastic. Love love love this place"

  • "We have been to the Meddlesome Moth several times and always enjoy the experience. The staff is very knowledgable, and the food is consistently good. The menu items are interesting and well prepared. They are known for their extensive beer menu - we are not beer drinkers but they also have good moderately priced wines. We'll be back!"

  • "We had a nice lunch and enjoyed the crowd, but the noise was really bothersome for the other party that was with me."

  • "I had the deviled eggs and the mussels....delicious. A champagne and elderberry cocktail...also fabulous! I also tried the pork belly (not a fan) but my friend claimed it was well done. I was hungry on the evening that I went and felt hungry when I left. I would have had to order another 30 dollars worth of food to appease my appetite. The restaurant was loud and the waitstaff (withstanding the hostesses) seemed disconnected from the diner's experience."

  • "This place is an upscale craft beer bar / restaurant. We love going to this place to try to find a very rare beer and try some of the wornderful food that is served there. The food is always interesting. The specials always seem to be very special. The beer flights are great and you can choose from a particular beer style or trust in fait to allow your server or the bar tender to choose the best beers available at the given time on tap. The glass work inside this place is amazing. Service is impecable. Parking can be tricky. Just valey park and save yourself the stress of trying to find a spot. Love the beer and the cocktails are very interesting as well. Decent wine list. Give them a try. You will be glad you did."

  • "This was our first visit to Meddlesome Moth and we enjoyed the evening with friends. Service and food were great, but the restaurant is very noisy. Ordered several small plates to share and would highly recommend the Belgian mussels, zucchini chips and the bacon lollipops. Great selection of beers. Would definitely eat here again."

  • "This is one of our favorite Dallas spots. The food is unique, beautifully executed, and the staff and ambiance are wonderful. We just recently discovered their brunch and it's equally as ambitious as their dinner menu. We simply love this place!"

  • "The minute we were sat at our table, the waiter was right there. He offered great suggestions for the group. We chose a variety but the best was the shrimp and jalepeno grits as well as the pig and fig. Would love to try out their brunch menu. All the food was really fantastic. Will refer many to try this place"

  • "I took my husband and four of our best friends for my husbands birthday. I took a cake ahead of time and also ordered 16 small plates to be brought to our table as they were ready. We had so much fun tasting allot of the menu. Fantastic evening and wait staff terrific ."

  • "Went to Sunday Brunch to celebrate a birthday. Waited 30 minutes to get our beverages and then they all did not come at the same time. The menu is fine if you are a fan of bacon. I do not eat pork, so that was a problem. The only soup offering had bacon in it. The food took over an hour to come to the table; it was cold and dry. I had their grilled cheese and soup (potatoes, since I could not eat the soup). I have had better grilled cheese at Denny's and it wasn't $11. Everyone in our party of six was very disappointed in the food. Several entrees were served cold and had to be sent back. No one came to the table to ask how everything was. We spoke to a hostess about the long wait for drinks and food and she just "brushed it off.""

  • ""Service w/ a smile, " well, truly goes a long way... lacking in this visit. Server seemed kinda put off by his section, w/ a lackluster approach to performance. Must say, that's what overall lacked in a better experience for a service industry table... that a a bit more season on our selections."

  • "Worth a visit just to soak in the interior of this star of the Design District. I know that historically, Dallas residents have viewed 30 as the great divide, but once you realize that Hi Line offers expedited access between Uptown and the Design District you will find yourself over there more and more. Meddlesome Moth is a fantastic option for folks looking for a great lunch spot along the I-30 corridor. The menu is fun and inventive and few spots have a more extensive beer selection (40 active taps). This was my 2nd time at Meddlesome Moth; the first was for lunch. I'd like to come back for dinner so I have the entire menu at my disposal."

  • "Pretty great brunch fare. We'd all been to MM several times for other times of day but our first for brunch. Bizarre to shy away from beer here but our crowd stuck with brunch cocktails which were above average. As a newly (only last couple of years) reformed Mary drinker I tend to rely on this as my litmus now and found theirs OK. Everything else was pretty great."

  • "The quail was the best we have ever had. The grits in the shrimp and grits were amazing but the shrimp were mediocre. The asparagus was also mediocre and the coffee is just plain terrible. My wife says the beer was good. We would definitely go back and have the quail again and try some other items."

  • "We dine here once or twice a month. Possibly the best beer selection in the world; huge selection of top-quality brews from around the world, some you can only get here. Good wine selection. Inventive bar-food menu perfectly prepared. Expert staff. It's all good. I like the mussels, salads, the baby-back ribs, and the Filet Frite. The one time we had a problem with a dish the manager did a root-cause analysis to figure out what had gone wrong -- was it overcooked, or delivered late? Then he comped the meal."

  • "Went to early dinner before concert - super knowledgeable staff about all kinds great beers - excellent wine list - did not have much in the way of vodka selection so I'm guessing it's more for the beer!"

  • "What intrigued me about this place was the dinner menu, but decided to check it out for the first time for Sunday brunch. I liked the atmosphere, the service was great, but the food was amazing. The Moth Benedict was out of this world and I can't wait to come back to try the dinner menu."

  • "We've been to Meddlesome Moth for dinner before, and it was pretty great, but their brunch is incredible. Their "normal" menu has some great creative twists on old favorites, new creations, and some safe but delicious sounding items (like french toast challah). Their brunch beverages are also really fun - you'll find your classic mimosas and bloody mary's, along with a few other treats. We had the mother-and-child reunion (on the normal menu) and the fried chicken and pancakes (on special). Both were wonderful and arrived quickly. Can't say enough good things about the restaurant or their staff!"

  • "Went for a noon brunch with friends after a late night partying. The blood orange or grapefruit mimosas are super refreshing and definitely help brighten you up. I'm excited to have this great spot in my neighborhood, but wish it wasn't so darn popular (wink). The brunch portions were huge and everything looked/tasted fantastic. Our server was great, she knew how to play off our vibe (slightly hungover and ready for food) to make in an enjoyable experience."

  • "Loved their small plates! Everything we tried was delicious and perfect for sharing. Our waiter suggested 2-3 small plates per person, so we started with the pig and fig, steak tartare, Thai mussels, zucchini chips and crispy duck wings. They pretty much bring each dish out one by one so there was a little waiting in between dishes once the place got busy. After our last dish we decided to also order the shrimp and grits and the bacon lollipops. If I had to pick, my favorites of the night were the pig and fig, steak tartare and bacon lollipops, but they were all soo soo good. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their small plates. I highly recommend this place...and make a reservation!"

  • "Date night spot with the lady friend. We had the Steak Tartare, Belgium Mussels, Hummus, and ducks wings. Steak tartare was our winner it was full of flavor all around. everything was very tasty though. great beer selection and pairings are listed next to the food which helps slim down the large beer menu."

  • "If you love beer and great food this is the place to go! Incredible beer selection!! Many highly allocated beers. And the food....well, this may be the best pub food i've ever eaten. Congrats!!! My wife and I's first time. Looking forward to being a regular here."

  • "Great restaurant. We picked it because of its beer selection and it did not disappoint. The craft beer list was extensive and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the tap selection. Many local TX beers were available throughout the draft and bottle lists. (Great wine list, too). The food was amazing. I recommend the pork belly."

  • "My wife and I went before the Amos Lee concert and were really pleased with everything. We sat on the patio (regular seating under covered porch). The beer garden is also out there, but is bench picnic style seating and looks fun for groups. Our waiter, Patrick, gave us a lot of great suggestions on food and beer pairings. My wife is usually a wine drinker, so thankfully he led her to some beers she liked that really paired well with the food. They do have wine, but she was trying to mix it up...when in Rome! The duck wings were fantastic and the moth balls were pasta wrapped ricotta balls covered in a light cream sauce. Osso Buco was nice and plenty to share. Overall a great low key evening of just hanging out. Great food and beer."

  • "This place offers a fun change from the normal steak, seafood, or Mexican food choices. We wanted to take some out of town friends to something different. They loved it. We had the pig and fig, the flank streak, ahi tuna sticks, and ribs. We also has zucchini chips. The only dish I wouldn't recommend was the zucchini chips. They were shredded and not really chips. This restaurant is a great choice for people who want to try something new!"
