I've been here 6 times, and every time Medallion is consistently mediocre. It's not BAD, but not good either. The food is mediocre at best: cold prime rib and unevenly grilled steaks. Also, the cuts of steaks are served complete with gristle, which is a major problem at the prices they charge. The service is poor: unfilled waters, rude waiters who just plop plates in front of you, unexpectedly reaching across me and my dining companions to remove plates without even a prior "excuse me", bumping into my chair as they are walking by. This is just unprofessional service.

employee should be more attentive to customer!! We had to ask bread & asked 2 times for horseradish. We asked if we could have dressing on the side...and it didn't!!! Would seat us until everyone was there. Waiter hackled at us when we made a comment. Worse service ever!!! It was a very SLOW night & there was NO excuse for poor service. I Never go back there again! Although the food was very good.

Had dinner around 7PM mid week. The ambiance of the restaurant is good but the downlights are distracting and too bright for evening dining. The service staff was very attentive and make us feel comfortable. For a high-end restaurant not to know what blue cheese stuffed olives for a martini are was surprising. Ordered the Caesar's salad and the dressing was not good. The balance was not there and tasted like too much vinegar. No anchovies in the dressing or on the top. The steaks were good and cooked properly.

This was our first visit, but is definitely not our last. Our server was wonderful, the food excellent. I am a vegetarian, and was very pleased with the selection of vegetables. I had the grilled brussel sprouts as an appetizer - they were great. The others in my party had carnivore food and were very pleased. I am looking forward to a return trip.

Ate with a group of 8 and ordered crab cakes (so-so), shrimp (didn't try), and margarita pizza (eh) for apps. My sea bass entree was really good, as were the sides (green beans, mac & cheese). My only criticism is while the service was friendly, it was a bit unprofessional (e.g. server had very little knowledge of food and wine, provided no value add other than taking orders). I would try again through because my entree was really good and I appreciate the quality ingredients.

It was a last minute choice for thanksgiving because other plans fell through. It maybe that the staff just didn't want to be there on the holiday. We were told as we were finishing dessert that the restaurant was closing. We were finishing dessert and would have been leaving anyway. The food was ok but nothing special.

Wine is also extremely expensive abd they did nit even have the ine I wanted even though it was listed. I will not go bacj.

Our family of 4 had an early reservation for dinner (5:30) and we were the first customers in the dining room. The restaurant was quiet and the dining room was comfortable. We ordered some starters to include crab cakes and calamari; which were served quickly and tasted delicious. For dinner, we had two salads (caesar salad and tomato salad) along with two tomato soups. The salads were fresh and one person thought the tomato soup was a bit salty. For our main meal, everyone had a meat dish. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, the flat iron steaks were delicious when dabbed with mushroom sauce and the corn fed ribeye was a huge portion cooked to liking. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."

We made reservations ahead of time but were not told there would be a PARTY in the restaurant at the same time. The Salsa music was SO incredibly loud. Even if you were there for the party, it would be ridiculously loud. What bothered us the most was that we were not advised this would be going on. It was a special occasion and we couldn't hear each other talk. One of my kids couldn't tolerate the noise so we had to leave and take our food to go. The food was very good and it is disappointing that because of the terrible service, we won't be going back.

This was my first time to Medallion. The food was good. I was there to check out their events rooms and was very pleased with what I saw. I liked the idea that the bar and dining area are separated and if you're dining and need quiet, the noise from the bar area was not heard. Am seriously considering our event at the restaurant if the date is available.

We tried this place out because of an attractive price fixe for a 3 course dinner. It surprised us with a white table clothed table serving a great green salad with candied walnuts, a 14 oz prime rib with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, and a bread pudding. The salad was better than most a-la-carte salads on the menu. Prime rib was ordered med-rare and it was. The grade of meat was Prime, not choice, with the weight as promised. Waiter service was pleasant and timely. It was a test run for us, but we would not hesitate to book again when we have our annual get-together with friends come next June.

overall it was an ok experience. the steak was great. the mac an cheese not so great. the risotto was a good thought, but was undercooked. soup was good but too cheesy for my taste. service began good, then quickly went downhill after ordering. not sure if he was new, had too many tables, or just didnt care about us. i would not choose to return, but if someone else planned something there i would have to give it a second chance. good note, there was a beautiful outdoor seating area that seemed to be perfect for after work cocktails or a get together. was worth a try.

This was the third time we dined at Medallion. The food was adequate. My prime rib and my husband's Filet Mignon were good quality and excellent grades of meat, but it was disappointing because both meats were overly salty. Not sure why they salt the meats when many diners are on low salt or no salt diets. The salt can be added later. The creamed spinach was excellent though. The best I've had. Service was terrible. We had to flag the waiter down several times. The restaurant was empty except for a party of 25. There were plenty of wait staff and restaurant help to cover the tables, but the waiters were not attentive to our needs. Disappointing after a long stressful week that deserved a nice relaxing meal.

I made a reservation on Open Table for lunch on a Monday at 11am. I got there right at 11am and the door was locked. Figured they must be getting ready to open up soon. Well, I waited for 45 minutes and there still was no sign of anyone in the restaurant!!! Ended up leaving and going to another restaurant nearby. Can't believe they would just take bookings and then not honor them. At least have the courtesy to call your customers to let them know if you aren't planning to open!

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, in fact it can be downright difficult to find. That said, it's worth the search. The food was very tasty. I attended dinner on a quiet Monday night with few others in the restaurant. My daughter had the sea bass which she reported was truly excellent. My wife had the "Kobe" burger which she enjoyed. Me, I went for the NY steak. But first we had some really delicious appetizers - prime rib spring rolls and an order of calamari. The steak was succulent but didn't have a lot of spices or additions. The dishes were all served with a selection of dipping sauces that let you enhance the flavor of your meal in a delicate manner. The wait staff was courteous and attentive. Highly recommended.

We had a party of 10, which is a large group and can be difficult for servers... I respect that. However, our waiter was very late in coming to our table. Once he did, we asked if we could order an appetizer from the bar menu as for some reason there is different stuff at the bar than in the restaurant. He said sure. About 15 mins later he came back and informed us we could not order off the bar menu. That was the start of this night. By that point we were over it, and just wanted to order our food. After taking our order, he came back 5 minutes later to ask various guests to repeat their order because he didn't get it. It took multiple requests to get anything.

No salt and pepper on tables, I ask for some which was brought to the table -- promptly but the pepper grinder did not work. Tried their Prime Rib Special which I found sub-par. We have been going to this restaurant for 30 years....under different names. Had our 25th Anniversary party there. Its the same place with updated seating and table arrangements- along with outdoor drinking and dining when warm enough. This is the find of Burlingame. The food was spectacular- braised short ribs and potato(special) were melt in your mouth awesome. My wife had the filet- and it was amazing. Rare was perfect! Anthony has been our waiter a couple of times- and he is very good. Why they don't advertise in mind boggling. Its the best food in Burlingame. And the bread- they get from a small bakery in SF--- is AMAZING----
