Note: streeterville location, please call the Lakeview location directly to make reservations there.

Meet and eat! A purely interactive environment where people come to “mEAT” and socialize is our focus. While some restaurants incorporate skewers into their menu, a majority of our menu boasts the concept. Our skewers are meant to be ordered like sushi; complete ideas, cut in bite-sized pieces. We offer choice cuts of mEAT, seafood and garden varieties of many different styles. These gourmet bites are prepared on skewers and uniquely presented in front of patrons for family style serving. Meant to share, each patron will have their own tongs to select the scrumptious bites of their choice.

mEAT’s cocktails take a classic approach to molecular bartending. Using foams, whipped creams, carbonation and gels, our cocktails put a twist on the “all too familiar” in order to liven up comfortable, American cocktail traditions.

I've visited both locations (Streeterville and Lakeview) and was truly impressed by the taste and quality of the food. Original recipes, fresh ingredients, truly delicious. However, as many other places do, they call themselves sharing/small plates and the portions are actuall full-size. For this brunch, my friend and I ordered 1 skewer, then also each ordered a "side" and it was WAY too much food. We would have loved to try more and wish the portions were 1/3 of the size and price so we could have gotten a bunch. Definitely worth checking out, but keep that in mind.

I found this restaurant on open table and decided to try it while visiting Chicago. Our waitress was amazing and gave great recommendations on what to eat for dinner and where to go after for drinks. The portions are smaller but it was perfect for us and prevented us from overeating. I would recommend mEAT to those that are looking for something a little different.

I've been to the Meat in Lakeview, but this was my first time dining at Chestnut. The location was great for outdoor dining -- they have a really nice patio and the street is actually not very loud, which was great. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are almost exactly the same as the one in Lakeview. They were having a party the night we were there, so it was probably louder than usual. But in any case, it is usually pretty energetic. I recommend getting 1-2 skewers per person, depending on how many side dishes/ apps you get. It's a great sharing experience - bring friends from out of town here.

Love this place. Took 10 co-workers here for dinner after a hard day at McCormick Place. We were all impressed. The waiter was fun and made great recomendations for drinks and food. In all, we probably ordered at least 1 of every item on the menu. And they were all amazing. My personal favorite was the Bacon Flat Bread and the Postachio Crusted Port Skewer! You've got to give this place a try!

One of the Worst Restuarants I have been to in recent Times.Service is Slow, the place is so Dimly lit that you can barely see the Food. Took 75 Minutes between drinks and serving the main course.Survival for Restuarants in Streeterville is small and I think this Restaurant will see an early Demise.

mEAT is a welcome addition to the Streeterville food scene. The selection of meats is well varied and the portion size on the skewers is just right for sharing or could be doubled for a more substantial meal. The sautéed mushrooms was a great side dish accompanying my lamb chops.

No matter if you are Paleo, GF or just love healthy, hearty food, mEAT is the place for you. Delicious grilled meats on skewers, amazing salads, yummy side dishes, tempting desserts and a great drink list is all topped off by amazing service. Brian, our waiter, steered us towards the most amazing meal combo and was like an old friend by the time we left. We were so full but still felt healthy - a rare occurrence. Gorgeous view on the patio. We lived it and will be back!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and I'm so glad I did! The food was great... definitely get the meatballs! Sides were plenty big enough to share with more than one other person. The service was absolutely excellent. 3 different employees came to our table at separate times to wish my boyfriend a happy birthday. The bartender brought over 2 free shots, and our waitress brought a complimentary chocolate mousse with a candle. Definitely raving about this experience to family and friends, and we will certainly be back! Thanks!

I choose this restaurant because we were in town with children and always like to try new things. I thought the meat skewers would appeal to all ages in our group (kids 11,12,15) and it did. The family sides were very nice and had a great selection. Meats were a bit under seasoned, but still tasty. We had the beef, meatballs, pork and bacon wrapped chicken (bacon was pretty raw). Each came with a nice sauce, especially the pork. Wanted the lamb, but the skewer only came with 2 pieces. Creamed corn, mushrooms, and Brussels sprouts for sides. The restaurant's decor fit the food style. There was only one other table in restaurant at the time, 8pm on a Monday, host tried to sit all five of us in a small booth next to them, that was weird.

We live around the corner so we've eaten there during the evolution of this space and I hope this newest restaurant stays around for a while. The skewers are a nice twist on sharing a meal and everyone found a favorite. The drink menu had something for everyone without being 5 pages long. We had veggies, lamb, beef, and shrimps skewers which were all high quality and excellent but the hands down favorite was the onion tart flat bread. Turtle fondue finished off the meal and we will be back for seconds.

Clever fondues to skewers of very tasty entree items, there is a lot to like here. First bites include an excellent bacon onion tart. It looks almost too large, but the delicate and flaky crust really melts in your mouth. Cucumber cups are a refreshing with olives, balsamic reduction and feta cheese and more. The skewer entrees (hung on a rack at your table with tongs are provided to pull off each bite) cover all the options: pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie, etc. The Rosemary Mint Pork served with apple raisin chutney is my favorite. The menu includes family-style sides (fondue mac and cheese, anyone?) and the almost obligatory chocolate fondue for dessert. This is my third visit and it has quickly become my neighborhood go to.

We had a family gathering here of 11 of us ranging in ages from 13-55. The wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly and the service was great. The adults enjoyed some fun cocktails. Our favorite starters were the flatbreads and the truffle fondue which were really yummy. Because there were so many of us we were able to try many different skewers and sides. The favorites were the flat breads (we had both!) bacon wrapped dates, lamb chops, beef tenderloin and the cauliflower puree. The bacon Brussels sprouts were great but a little firm for me.

My mom recommended we try mEAT while in town based on the reputation of the original location up north, and we were happy with our decision. Though the menu is a la carte, the prices are reasonable and the portions are satisfying without being overwhelming. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was more than enough for two, as were the sides of sauteed Brussels sprouts and fondue Mac and cheese. We had a skewer each of the beef tenderloin and wasabi encrusted salmon. the flavors were subtle and worked well. We even had leftovers from each item. I will definitely fine here again.

mEAT on Chestnut is easy to miss from the street but it has certainly earned it's place in Chicago's Gold Coast/Streeterville neighborhood! The best Churrascaria, Fondue, and inspired remixes on classic steakhouse fair make mEAT a staple to the Chicago vast culinary landscape. In addition to outstanding food and the best service, mEAT offers a cocktail menu that challenges the norm by taking pages out of Aviary's book. The Magarita is definitely something to treasure, as is the Vaportini which allows patrons to inhale their vodka (or Brandy in my case) hookah style instead of drinking it. The result is a beautifully subtle and steady buzz that can last the entire meal. Bravo to the owners of D.S. Tequila Co. & MiniBar!

I took some very picky, persnickety people with me to mEat (not as a test I swear) and they loved it. Are looking forward to going back, even scheming about what to order. Plenty of water at the table, love that. Drinks were delicious, particularly the Manhattan--a nice petite size, and uniquely flavorful. The kale chips, which just showed up (policy or because the place is new to our hood?) when we sat down, were fabulous. The kale salad was a revelation. We loved the scallops, one guest the meat balls. They loved the quinoa casserole. Creamed corn really good too, made just ok compared to everything else?? Dunno. Same for veggie skewer. But ok, "meat" is the name of the place. :) Great experience. Planning next visit.

So I decided to try mEAT after a long day of work; 12 hours of styling and attitudes. It was actually around 11pm and although they'd close within the hour, it didn't once feel as so. I was greeted with great pleasure, seat very quickly, and already had my order in-all in about 2-minutes with the great enthusiasm and knowledge of my waiter; she even talked me into trying Lobster MacNCheese (I hate seafood). The skewers were AMAZING, full flavored, juicy, hot, and came quick! I also LOVED the MacNCheese, and Bacon Flat Bread. Prices are very reasonable, all workers a fun, approachable, and extremely great at their jobs. The owner/manager is also very nice, he welcomed me at the door. I have already gone back for a pick uup order!!
