Note: streeterville location, please call the Lakeview location directly to make reservations there.

Meet and eat! A purely interactive environment where people come to “mEAT” and socialize is our focus. While some restaurants incorporate skewers into their menu, a majority of our menu boasts the concept. Our skewers are meant to be ordered like sushi; complete ideas, cut in bite-sized pieces. We offer choice cuts of mEAT, seafood and garden varieties of many different styles. These gourmet bites are prepared on skewers and uniquely presented in front of patrons for family style serving. Meant to share, each patron will have their own tongs to select the scrumptious bites of their choice.

mEAT’s cocktails take a classic approach to molecular bartending. Using foams, whipped creams, carbonation and gels, our cocktails put a twist on the “all too familiar” in order to liven up comfortable, American cocktail traditions.

Went there for a pre-Thanksgiving family night dinner. Our daughter needs Gluten-free offerings and mEAT was a great choice. Cucumber cup appetizer was great. All the meat dishes were excellent. Brussel sprouts and mac & cheese were out of this world! Very good experience all around!

Wow - we needed to find a restaurant near the theater during a driving rainstorm and found mEAT. What a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress walked us through the entire menu - and made great recommendations. Mushroom appetizer was fantastic and the skewered meat and scallops that we had were prepared perfectly. We will definitely be back.

Stumbled across this restaurant on Open Table when looking for something different for dinner near the Mag Mile for my adult daughters and I. Loved the interior design of the restaurant as it was dimly lit and really cozy. The brussle sprouts and stuffed mushrooms are amazing. The kabobs were great expecially the shrimp and the beef tenderloin. I should have stuck with beer as that is my usual drink but tried one of their cocktails since they promote those on the menu. My drink was average and overpriced. I would certainly go back to this place!

Not at all impressed by the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese fondue so I was a bit skeptical of what dinner would bring but the main courses were AMAZING. We had the bacon wrapped chicken, Cajun anduji sausage, and the meatballs. All were cooked perfectly and soooooo good! Had a few bites of a friend's kale Caesar salad which was super tasty as well. I also had the Modern Cosmo too.Great drink but not worth $14 in my opinion. Still though, I would definitely recommend this place

bThis was the first time we ate at mEAT and enjoyed a new way of food presentation. The Crab Rangoon and stuffed mushrooms were excellent, hot and flavorful. The menu was varied enough that the four of us could each chose an entree and share it. One drawback was the food took too long to arrive, but the waiter did comp us a round of drinks for the wait. all agreed the beef tender loin was the best choice of those we ordered. The place was crowded and the noise level was too loud for a normal conversation without shouting. Given the problems we encountered we will still return.

We were dining on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a reservation last minute. We even had to change our party size from 5 to 7 and the host was very friendly and made it work. We chose mEAT due to its location and gluten free options, however there was some confusion with one of the ciders on the menu (the cider was not marked GF on the menu, but we asked if it might be GF any way- they said no. When someone else ordered it at our table we noticed that it said Gluten Free right on the can!). Other than that the food was DELICIOUS and we had a wonderful time. Great for a group because we got to try a large portion of the menu. Definitely get the Hot Bacon flat bread (and)or the Bacon Onion Tart.

We recently dined at mEAT's new location in Streeterville - they still have some kinks to work out but, overall, we had a wonderful dining experience! The drinks were inventive, very well executed, and all a twist on old classics. The Magic Margarita was delicious as was the maple Manhattan. The Crab Rangoon Flatbread was just ok, and definitely is not a must-have on this menu. On the other hand, the pistachio lamb skewers were superb and the wasabi crusted salmon was my favorite dish. I'm looking forward to returning, but will plan to dine with a large group - the portions are generous, pretty expensive (particularly if there are only two of you dining), and it's tempting to over-order since everything looks great.

I bought a Groupon, but had been wanting to try this place anyway. I went on Saturday night and were a little nervous in the beginning when we were greeted by the waiter telling us that they were out of most of the beers on the list, the flatbreads and the CO2 machine was broken making a few of the cocktails unavailable as well. We were also seated at a 2 top very close to the tables next to us. The space is dark and loud, but I would say this is a good place for groups as you would have more elbow room. We weren't very keen on the kale chips to start, but we were very happy with the bacon wrapped dates, beef tenderloin and meatball skewers. The Greek potatoes were also very tasty. Rough start, but it turned out well and I would return!

I've visited both locations (Streeterville and Lakeview) and was truly impressed by the taste and quality of the food. Original recipes, fresh ingredients, truly delicious. However, as many other places do, they call themselves sharing/small plates and the portions are actuall full-size. For this brunch, my friend and I ordered 1 skewer, then also each ordered a "side" and it was WAY too much food. We would have loved to try more and wish the portions were 1/3 of the size and price so we could have gotten a bunch. Definitely worth checking out, but keep that in mind.

I've been to the Meat in Lakeview, but this was my first time dining at Chestnut. The location was great for outdoor dining -- they have a really nice patio and the street is actually not very loud, which was great. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are almost exactly the same as the one in Lakeview. They were having a party the night we were there, so it was probably louder than usual. But in any case, it is usually pretty energetic. I recommend getting 1-2 skewers per person, depending on how many side dishes/ apps you get. It's a great sharing experience - bring friends from out of town here.
