Diner Reviews
  • "The place did not advise that they had a no shorts policy. The only place on Lincoln Road with such a policy. Left there went to Smith & Wollensky got seated and had a great steak. Policy should be communicated at the time of booking."

  • "Meat Market mixes South America Steak with Japanese menu. We were on steak and it was very good. Plenty of Antipasto options as we'll main and side dishes. But all of these choices has its cost. Be careful with wine list that could cost easely $200 for an average wine. When hear "we have some out of menu dishes" be alert!! Ask the price, serving size, and everything you need to know before ordering. Overall it is a good choice for meat lovers."

  • "We celebrated my son's 21st birthday on Monday night and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent but I have to say the service was truly outstanding. It was a wonderful time for my son and our family."

  • "Meat quality was good but had to send back twice to get temp up to medium."

  • "Very disappointed. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, pricey, but disappointment was in the food - worst steak I could not finish it - tasted so badly if old, poor quality of meat."

  • "Great restaurant on Lincoln Road - not a tourist trap!!"

  • "I've been here many times and it's always great. The food is prepared wonderfully and the staff (Hey Idy!) is on their game at all times. It's a little on the pricey side, but worth it if you're looking to treat yourself or someone else to a fantastic dinner."

  • "One of the best steaks I've ever tasted. We split the new york strip (rare) and it was delicious, tender and beautifully seasoned. Started with the ceviche of the day and the tuna, both excellent. Good creamed spinach (although thought the addition of bacon a bit over the top). The french fries were amazing, seasoned with paprika and sugar I think, very addictive. Couldn't manage desserts."

  • "The Service was attentive. However The steak was a bit over charcoiled on the outside. As per the starters the tuna tarter missed some tortilla chips (two are rather insufficient) and the wagyu carpaccio and empanada duet being outstanding by itself should have an even number of empanadas (when you're sharing)"

  • "My party and I chose this place with no prior knowledge of what it had to offer. We were pleasantly surprised that all elements from the food to the service to the ambience far exceeded our expectations. We definitely plan to revisit when we return to Miami!"

  • "Service was much too pushy and overall price/value ratio was average"

  • "The service at this location was excellent. We had reservations, and we were seated promptly at a nice table in the middle of the restaurant. We had two servers being attentive to us all night. Our glasses were not empty for longer than a minute throughout the night. In my opinion, the food was not good. We had the escargot as our appetizer, which was delicious! Then we had filet mignons(medium), baked potato, and grated potatoes. The food was not tasty, and the meat was not tender either. The house drinks were ok. Later we opted to continue with red wine. Overall, the service was impeccable, the establishment was very nice, however the food was not up to par. I can't recommend and I hardly doubt I'll return."

  • "The service is Great . Food is good & price OK . Just don't ever order Kobe steak ( Not worth high $92)"

  • "Great food, for meat and seafood lovers , great service, beautiful place and beautiful people."

  • "The food was ok - but the serving people do not make your stay a true experience. They are focussed on making money rather than you."

  • "filet was not cooked as I ate in other steak-house in USA. The name of the restaurant is not capable of way of cooking the filet."

  • "The staff could not have been nicer and more responsive. The foie gras appetizer (grilled) was very good and the bread was fantastic. The atmosphere was nice and the wine list was impressive. Now for the bad news, the main courses were just awful. Our $50 filet was overcooked and completely tasteless. The special of the evening (sea bass with truffle oil) was, frankly, inedible. The undercooked fish and truffle mash potatoes were so soaked with truffle oil that you could taste nothing else but the oil. Overall the experience was disappointing. Hopefully their chef gets it together with his and/or her main courses as the atmosphere and wait staff could not have been nicer."

  • "Was there 2 years ago and was excited. But this time service was bad (our) and the food was OK but not fantastic. Get better filets at Smith&Wollensky or at Mortons for less money. Will not try again."

  • "food was delicious. The restaurant was a bit noisy, but not so noisy that you couldn't hear other diners. We took clients there and had a great meal. The only recommendation I have however is to allow parties to designate indoor or outdoor on the reservation. Fortunately someone else didn't show so we were able to get an indoor table; outdoor would have been unpleasant in the humidity. As I had not been there before, I had no idea that we were subject to sitting outside. "

  • "For some reason, I was not expecting much from this place, probably because I don't eat meat very often. However, I was in for a treat. I took the Kobe filet mignon and have to admit, although on the pricy side, it was the best I ever ate and worth every penny. I highly recommend it."

  • "It took our food 50 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Skirt steak was chewy and not well cooked. My daughters Filet Mignon was rare when we asked for it to be well done. The bread in the beginning was excellent. Over all, food and service mediocre. The restaurant itself is nice. Outdoor seating lovely just wished food was better."

  • "Excellent service and great food in the middle of Lincoln Road. Usually the service at all these restaurants is very lousy. The service was impeccable! The food was delicious. We sat outside but the inside can be noisy but it's great for groups. "

  • "I hate to fight for my points, they had me down as a "no show." Our bill was over $500, there was four of us, so you can tell the prices along South Beach. Everyone's food was excellent, the service was almost perfect. But when I left, I thought "Would you go back?" I think that is the mark of an outstanding restaurant. No, I wouldn't. I did not feel like an appreciated customer, but maybe this is the way it is in South Beach. They have so many customers, they just shove them thru and know they probably won't see them again. I also am a little ticked for spending an hour on this site trying to figure out how to contact anyone to get my points, OpenTable does not make it easy."

  • "My experience was more than I expected. I was searching for the Tomahawk rib-ey! found it, devoured it! Dang that was good! Wonderful wonderful cheerful staff! This place was worth every penny!"

  • "The French speaking waiter was a real disaster. He asked if I knew what pheasant is; he corrected my wife because he couldn't accept that she likes her steak "medium-rare"; he didn't mention any ot the specials of the day; he couldn't care less about anything all the evening. As for the food, our risotto and seabass were well cooked but the taste was horrible because of too much butter. The place is beautiful and you can have a conversation even when it is almost full. "

  • "This was our first dinner experience at Meat Market. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, especially the meats and the sea bass. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Tremendous kudos to Luca & the service professionals that enhanced the meal with delectable food, but enhanced our lives with smiles & laughter. Allison and her professional, friendly demeanor were welcome conversation throughout the meal. Tuna Tartare, Truffle Roasted Escargot (FANCY!!) & Wahoo Ceviche, all full of flavor & personality, while being divine & mouthwatering. The steak was cooked to perfection & accompanied by flavor enhancing sauces. We loved the Atomic Horseradish Truffle Sauce & Wild Mushroom Truffle Sauce. Dessert for us was Luca’s choice, and when we thought dinner couldn’t get any better, there was Chocolate Lava Cake with Salted Caramel Gelato (OMG!), & a Key Lime Cheesecake concoction that won’t soon be forgotten."

  • "This is a modern take on "steak house". The food was very good & the steaks were excellent. The wine list is well curated & I enjoyed talking with the sommelier (Allison). We had the '06 Peter Michael & it was perfect with our dinners. They have a range of trophy wines & affordable gems incl many french wines. The outdoor dining is very nice, but b/c we had a larger party, they sat us inside. The table was right up front so we got "bumped" by passersby, but it was ok. The service was just right: there when we needed them. Definitely would recommend and will return!"

  • "...at Meat Market is going to set you back quite a few bucks, especially if you're ordering appetizers, sides and wine as we did. The wine list is very interesting, though there weren't many bottles that were moderately priced. That said, my steak was excellent and my dinner companions all enjoyed their meals."

  • "Everything from the Black Truffle Oil to Lobster Mac and Cheese, this place nailed it. I went for my birthday and was happy to find that Meat Market is as good as my friends told me. The steaks cooked to perfection and delicious. All and all a great spot if you want to a nice meal."

  • "Found this gem on Chowhound Forums while searching "Lincoln Rd restaurants that aren't tourist traps". Zen/hipster decor: wood-clad walls, wine shelves, sparkling candles. Beautifully prepared meat and sides, half portions available. Attentive team format service."

  • "Picked this between reading TripAdvisor and walking by the night before. Was super impressed with the staff - casual, approachable, and knowledgable. Would recommend "reserve" items as my ribeye was one of the better meats I've had. Would definitely recommend or eat at again. Only 'con' was a wobbly table - not bad!!"

  • "elegance and cuisine on Lincoln Road. Perfect for a quieter respite from the hubbub of pedestrians. Bit pricey."

  • "Loved meat market if only because it is a more modern steakhouse. For those tired of the stuffy, formula piece Capital Grille, Mortons or Ruth Chris, this is a modern take in a beautiful setting. Wish the price list was more reasonably priced, because that would make it perfect!"

  • "I dine here atleast once a month and I always have a great experience! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. The Sommelier even came to the table to review the wine list with us. This is definitely one of the trendy restaurants in South Beach to not miss!!"
