  • Public Transit: Being a downtown Pittsburgh location, there are many options and we recommend going to the Port Authority website for schedules, rates and general information.

  • Parking Details: In the same building as our restaurant there is an eight story parking garage that is open 24 hours. Meat & Potatoes will be offering reduced rate parking for our patrons who park in the Theater Square garage. There are also numerous parking garages and lots within a 3 block vicinity of Meat & Potatoes.

  • "Enjoyed our entire experience here! Abi, our server was terrific. We overheard some native Pittsburghians order the deep fried pickles, made in house, and had to try them. They were amazing...super crunchy from the batter to the pickles. Loved the hot sauce. (They were even fabulous the next day!) The pâté was super smooth, and tasty as were the fried Brussel sprouts. We also enjoyed the hangar steak and salmon entrees but ordered too much food. Beware, generous portions here. All in all completely satisfying."

  • "We were seated by the door to the patio. My elderly aunt (who was wearing a cast on her arm) had her chair (gently) bumped twice. To make her feel more comfortable, we asked a server if we could move to another table. It was well after the lunch rush and there were many open tables. The server was polite and gracious and sent over a hostess. The hostess seemed annoyed and was rude about our request. She did allow us to have another table but said things like "I guess." when we explained that we wanted to move and when we were seated at our new table said "I have to go and figure out what the servers are going to do with you now." My aunt was already embarrassed at having to make the request to move, and the hostess embarrassed her further."

  • "This place is definitely fit for foodies! I took someone here for an interview lunch, and the menu had an option for any type of palate. We ordered the fried taters and the devils on horseback as appetizers. The fried taters were just fries, so they were definitely not what we were expecting. The devils on horseback exceeded my expectations though! As entrees I ordered the house smoked duck salad, and it was alright, but I definitely would have enjoyed something else more. My guest ordered the cuban, and it was huge! You definitely get your money's worth with that selection. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Pittsburgh area!"

  • " Is open late enough to stop in for a late dinner or drink after a show. The food wasn't the best this time around, I think because it was late we got the warmed up leftovers from the night, which is understandable. Place was cold and the stuck is at a table back by the kitchen door and then brought another couple in an seated them in top of us, with the entire side of the restaurant empty. I wasn't as thrilled with the place this time around. Server could have cared less. The host at the front door was very friendly and accommodating."

I appetite recently triggered towards duck and their duck breast with sauerkraut pierogies was out of this world. Great beer and wine selection. You will not be disappointed.   • "I'd heard so many good things about Meat and Potatoes' brunch and had been dying to go. I was so excited when the date finally arrived (for we'd had to make the reservation weeks before, due to the popularity of this place). Our friendly waiter gave us a drink recommendation that was spot-on, and was attentive and knowledgeable. I had the shrimp and grits and it was fantastic - and not the kind of thing you typically find at Pittsburgh brunches! The Irish coffee was also amazing. The meal definitely did not disappoint and I hope to make it back to Meat & Potatoes for brunch again soon!"

  • "Dined on Wednesday with 2 friends.Very disappointed in 2 of the 3 entrees. Mine was the worst...I ordered the special of perch and scallops. The $23 entree had 3 very small pieces of perch and 1.5 scallops, 3 sugar snap peas and some dices apples. One friend ordered the muscles which were delicious but served at room temperature.She shared them with me since I was still hungry after eating what looked like an appetizer. Pot roast entree was the hit of the night.Been to Meat and Potatoes many times and this was the first time I left the place disappointed in the food. Drinks were wonderful and the service great! Before I scratch it off my list, I will try one more time. I know now to ask more questions about how entrees are presented."

  • "I have been coming to Meat & Potatoes for a few years now, it is my most favorite place in Pennsylvania!! Brunch is fabulous, the Bloody Mary Bar & Huevos Rancheros are to die for!! I love to come in for dinner as well, everything is always wonderful! The staff is always full of helpful information and great for recommendations! I always enjoy trying the specials! (The fish tacos rocked on Sunday!) This was a first time visit for my boyfriend and he was pretty amazed. He is literally a basic Meat and Potatoes kind of guy! He had the 3 Little Pigs and is still raving about it. He is already planning our next date night. :-) Thank you for always being so wonderful!! PS the music Sunday night rocked!"

  • "I was visiting for the first time in Pittsburgh, and I believe I made the right choice with Meat and Potatoes. The Poutine was very good as a starter. I thought the Lamb Burger and Brussel Sprouts were great as well, although a smidge on the salty side. Our waitress was Rachel who had great recommendations on the food, beer and desserts. Great local choices. Would recommend to friends visiting."

It was medium rare so next time I get the Thai Steak Salad I will ask them to cook it a little longer. If you go you must have the pata and the devils on horseback!   • "the key lime pie was fabulous! Nice and tart with just the perfect amount of sweetness! My husband had the Bruschetta Chicken and I had the Pot Roast - we both highly recommend our dinners! We tried to eat here before a show at the O'Reilly theater two months ago, but there were no reservations available - we can see why!! So this time around I made our reservation about 4 weeks in advance, just to make sure that we would get a reservation! Everything was perfect! We are looking forward to our next visit!!"

  • "We traveled to Pittsburgh from NJ specifically to go to this restaurant, which was featured on one of the foodie channels. We made a weekend of it and had an outstanding time. At first, I was not pleased with the seating. There are many small tables situated around the bar and we were seated at one of those. We ordered the 34 oz. rib eye for two, which was the feature on the TV show. It definitely delivered!! But, it barely fits on the table we were seated at. Luckily, the table next to us was open and we were able to put our drinks there. Overall, it was worth the trip and I'm so glad we went. BTW, the mussels for an appetizer was very tender and delicious."

  • "It's almost impossible to get a table if you're a walk-up on a Fri or Sat night, or when shows are in town, or even for Sat/Sun brunch. This is a restaurant with high-end food without being snooty about it, and has a casual atmosphere. You want to show up in a pair of jeans and a decent T-shirt? Sure, you won't feel out of place. The food has always been good; waitstaff are friendly, and for a place as busy as it can get, the waitstaff are still efficient. Make your own bloody marys at weekend brunches are brilliant."

  • "The space is small but well-utilized! My date and I did not feel cramped or intruded upon while we enjoyed our delicious meals in ridiculously comfortable chairs on a Sunday night. We each enjoyed a craft cocktail from the bar, the fried pickle snack (perfect thick slices), and a dinner. He ate the lamb burger. I had the Waygu steak with bourbon pears+other veg. Wow! I would eat all again in a heartbeat. The sherry sauce on the steak complimented the whole plate. The lamb burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned. This is not for those who only "like" lamb - you have to Love it!"

  • "I have been to M&P numerous times previously and this was the first time my experience was less than stellar. Our party of 4 had a brunch reservation for 1:30pm. We arrived on time for our reservation, but there was a delay in seating us. Our waiter was at our table immediately after we were seated (great!), but when we requested a couple minutes to look at the drink menu before ordering drinks he informed us that they closed at 2:00pm and "hopefully we can get your food order in on time." If there is a time concern, don't take a 1:30 reservation! Then, two of the four plates were brought to the table a good 5 minutes before the other 2. By the time everyone was served my hash and eggs were pretty cold. The food was good."
