The Restaurant at MeadowoodOur dinner at Meadowood standsOur dinner at Meadowood stands out as one of the very best we have ever had. The food was fabulous, the service impeccable and the wine list was interesting. What a treat!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial NightWhat can you say about a Michelin 3-star? Amazing. My husband and I enjoyed their $90 three-course tasting menu for a night out away from the kids. We don't drink alcohol but enjoyed some really amazing non-alcoholic cocktails that their talented bar tenders have spent time carefully crafting. The food is unreal. And the atmosphere was wonderful. Go!!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience. OurWonderful experience. Our favorite restaurant in all of Napa Valley.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like over the top pretentiouIf you like over the top pretentiousness in you dining this is the place for you. The serving staff will amaze you in the speed, efficiency and the quality of their service.
The 24 course meal was a once in a life time event and if you love food, some day you should try it. But, at $500 a head it might be worth looking at many of the other fantastic restaurants Napa valley has to offer.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you have never eaten atIf you have never eaten at a 3-Michlein star restaurant, you may ask yourself, "What makes them so special?" The answer, at Meadowood, "EVERYTHING!" The food, the wine pairing, the service, the ambiance, the chef's imagination, all are superb!
Since the chef changes a few items in the menu on a daily basis, even if you go often, each bite could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unfortunately, the cost also makes this restaurant a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, but it was worth it!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's an experience. An amazing one.My wife and I came to Meadowood for our anniversary dinner. We were completely blown away with this experience, calling it a meal doesn't do it justice. This was our first time at a 3 Michelin Star restaurant, and the initial expectations were uncertain. Needless to say, I get it now. Each course, dish, flavor and texture was so unique. I've had several fine dining experiences before but there was usually a frame of reference for each dish. The courses at Meadowood really have no comparison, they're completely new experiences within the entire meal. Overall it makes for an amazing food journey as you appreciate the flavors and textures of each ingredient.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING!!! Each course wasAMAZING!!! Each course was better than the next which we didn’t think was possible! Beautifully presented dishes, inventive cuisine, courteous, informative, friendly, knowledgeable staff. We visited the kitchen, which was extremely clean and large (were informed that they’d just had a $1m makeover-well invested!). Kitchen staff was friendly and took a photo with us. We’ve eaten at a lot of 3 star restaurants around the world - the Meadowood is among the top two.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMabsolutely amazing. the chefabsolutely amazing. the chef is really talented, service is impecable, the setting is gorgeous, the cellar is to die for, the food is astonishing. It is an amazing experience...4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHeard from a friend that thisHeard from a friend that this could possibly be a better restaurant than the famed French Laundry. I have never been to the FL but I have traveled around the world tasting amazing food and this was clearly the best meal if my life.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place, great dishes,Great place, great dishes, great attention, only a little bit noisy and no music.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of this worldI have not had a better meal in my life. The price was high, but worth it. Will be back as soon as I can get a reservation. The service, the food, and the attention to detail is out of this world.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA lovely experience! This is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely view of the golf course. Every dish served was a work of art. One of the dishes was designed at the table for us, which was a real treat. We were server asparagus on a rectangular plate and one of the chefs and an assistant artfully decorated the plate with fresh herbs and flowers. A lovely and tasty course. The tasting menu was 9 courses. We hadn't thought to mention we don't eat offal (the entrails and internal organs of an animal) and we were horribly embarrassed when we were served duck hearts since we don't eat them. I was very impressed with how our server responded and how quickly we were served alernate dish. The food was innovated, experimental and very delicious. Worth the splurge!!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't write a review likeCan't write a review like those for most other restaurants. It's a restaurant, yes, but more an experience. It was food as art. So creative and delicious. Four hours for what looked like a meal that would leave you empty, yet by the end, my husband's hunger and mine was completely satisfied. The most romantic evening. I'm more of the foodie so I got more out of the experience than he, but that just meant I was gleeful to have any staff member answer my never ending questions about what I was eating. I have never experienced before a staff more knowledgeable and happy to converse. Based on price and fame, I was concerned the restaurant would be stuffy. Totally opposite! A perfect night and a special memory forever.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe greatest restaurant I'veThe greatest restaurant I've ever been to. Criative, inovative and amazing food!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryEverything was amazing. What a wonderful experience3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visit to this MichelinSecond visit to this Michelin 3star, much improved, saved me a trip to Noma, great tastes.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA place where food and serviceA place where food and service is impeccable and exquisite, one of the best in the USA3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSensual & aesthetically astoundingEach element of the experience has been thoroughly considered...the textured tablecloth, the understated pottery...the warm up of canape's, the sommelier only a glance away. We opted for the short course, and were very satisfied-we even left a little dessert behind!! The broths, fresh herbs, flowers, and simply Earth, that was the basis for our meal was evident everywhere. We felt welcomed into Chef Chris's world for a few hours...and left refreshed and hopeful with all that spring brings. The concert of staff nurtured us during our stay and had constant clear communication lines with one another and the kitchen. An Outstanding experience from the making of the reservation through the retrieval of the car. Treat yourself-you deserve this.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingly creative tastingAmazingly creative tasting menu. Thought-provoking. Original. Daring, yet not slavish to the molecular gastronomy manifesto, the Restaurant at Meadowood concocts copious edible nibbles that will intrigue even the most jaded foodie. Food presentation is exquisite; you will sup from bona fide sculpture.
I would recommend the Restaurant at Meadowood to those who are somewhat tired of more traditional fine dining, and who want to be surprised by unorthodox ingredients.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
