  • "The food was excellent and the staff seemed more than willing to accommodate us. They have the best risotto anywhere!"

  • "I have been treated to McMahon's a few times by my husband and each time as been wonderful. I would have to say that my last visit 8/01/ was the best dinner yet!! I took my mother for her 69th birthday and she was in love with the restaurant as soon as she walked through the door. The service was awesome, they employees greeted her politely and everyone wished her a Happy Birthday. My mother had stated "This is the most delicious, beautiful place I've ever been and everyone made me feel special." To see my mother so happy was priceless and that was made possible by the amazing staff, environment and food of McMahon's. I look forward to many more good times and memories at McMahon's."

  • "We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at McMahons. Our server made wine and food suggestions that were awesome. The manager and the chef offered us anniversary congratulations. We enjoyed the petit filet which was perfectly cooked. They served us a complimentary dessert and we chose champagne strawberries, which were deep fried and served with creme anglaise. Very delicious and unusual."

  • "We enjoyed their summer special which is $30 for a three course dinner. We were with a group and all of us had different items and all were very good. The salmon was especially tasty. The pianist on Saturday night is very talented and we enjoyed listening to him play while we dined."

  • "One of the best steakhouses in Tucson. Staffed so well it was almost hard to have a quiet conversation. Daily wine selections but also a deep selection of your desired favorite."

  • "Appreciated the complimentary limo ride. This is a great addition to the restaurant."

  • "We went to McMahons for dinner. My husband started with the chile soup & then had the meatloaf dinner. I had the wedge salad & sea bass. We both thought our meals were great. My husband ate both our desserts, something chocolate & a key lime tart. He finished them completely. We had drinks with our dinner; he had a Drambui & I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Both pours were more generous than we've received at other restaurants which we appreciated. The service was perfection."

  • "We had a major family decision to make and needed a discreet, neutral place for the discussion. A meal always facilitates civil conversation and that is exactly what McMahon's provided. The meal was excellent; the service was superb, and the ambiance allowed us to conclude our business successfully, and our meal and each others' company."

  • "I thought the pricing was way out of line. When a place charges $50 for a strip steak it better be magnificent. It wasn't. I thought the service was lukewarm at best. Not a place that I would return to a second time."

  • "We go to McMahon's every year for our anniversary. This was the 36th and everything was perfect. The piano player played our wedding song plus some favorites from The Beatles. The filets were perfectly prepared at medium. We received a dessert for the occasion. We'll be back before a year for sure."

  • "I used open table for the dinner reservation but we also went to the Mother's day Brunch. both were excellent quality and beautifully presented. for dinner we had the 30$ specials. Just the right amount of food and one of the few restaurants that knows how to cook fish wiuthout drying it out. My coffee cup was continually refillled with a silver pot, and I used my 25$ gift certificate that they gave me on Mother's day. Ordinarily we ssve this restaurant for high days and holy days, but we had to use the gift certificate, so we went for a non-occasion celebration. Can't wait to go back again."

  • "While the food was ok, the piano player was extremely loud and very annoying. Our waiter was ok, forgot a few things. I would not come back nor would I recommend."

  • "On arrival with my elderly mother who walks with a cane the hostess said we would need to wait for the table to be ready even though we had a reservation. There is no place to sit. Restaurant was mostly empty. When they did seat us it was in a bunch with other occupied tables in one corner which made the noise level high in that area. Maybe that is easier for the employees. Hostess needs a different job. Our waitress was great. I ordered the fish and my mother the petite filet mignon and it was good except for the asparagus which was so hard it could not be cut or eaten. My husband got the chicken piccata and the chicken was so tough it was hard to cut with a steak knife. The kitchen needs to be paying more attention."

  • "McMahon's remains one of the best eating establishments in the Tucson area. Their food and service are always top notch."

  • "We decided to use a gift card to our once favorite restaurant: McMahon's. They have always been a special occasion place for us to go since it is generally quieter than other restaurants and you can sit for a leisurely dinner with out feeling rushed. We requested seating in the piano bar for the ambiance but didn't know there was a Broadway concert going on! That was a pleasure and a bonus. The food, however, was disappointing for the first time. Food was too salty. The sea bass was tough, and the petite filet was very thin. Service was great but I wonder about the bankruptcy affecting the food quality. With so many options in Tucson, they need to keep their quality top notch."

  • "I've been here several times. Each time the food has been very good, but each time the service level has been somewhere between poor and so-so. This last time, I had to flag down other employees to find our waiter twice. We received someone else's desert. Not at all what you'd expect from a restaurant like this."

  • "McMahon's Prime has a storied reputation, even as the recession hit. Our hope was that McMahon's Prime still shone like the brilliant star it used to be. Sadly, it wasn't the case. The meal was good but it certainly didn't rise to the price. Prices remain relatively high though the quality of the steak has declined quite a bit. Two cocktails, two petite fillets, the 'sides sampler', two appetizers... $132 before tip: NOT a great value. (One other thing, the banquette seating, while soft at first, is horribly uncomfortable. The bench cushion sinks lower in back (by the back cushion) than in front and you feel like your butt is in a rut, with your knees lifted above. Not fun. Not comfortable. Not conducive to normal digestion.)"

  • "Still one of our favorite places to go. Wonderful service by Brian. New banana dessert definitely a go to treat. Almost as good as the fried strawberries- actually equally as good."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "We had originally booked our 10 year wedding anniversary at another restaurant over on the west side, but after reading the Yelp reviews - switched to McMahon's. We had been there twice before and really enjoyed it: once before we moved to Tucson in February 2004 and once again in the summer of 2008 with friends. Not sure why it takes us so long to get back here as it is truly an outstanding restaurant! The entire experience was fabulous - service (thank you Brian!) was attentive and wonderful, food was delicious and prepared well and the value was VERY good - particularly in comparison to some of the higher end steak chain restaurants. They really made our evening special and topped it off with THREE exquisite desserts!"

  • "The noise (a horrible singer) from the lounge was unbearable & inexcusable. It could be heard all over the restaurant. The "second most tender" cut of beef had several bites that were unchewable & I had to remove them from my mouth. Not a place to go back to."

  • "THE PLACE JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER, THE WAIT STAFF ARE THE BEST, THE FOOD IS ALWAYS JUST THE WAY YOU WOULD WANT IT. HOLY COW IF YOU EVER GO FOR HAPPY HOUR YOU WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE. No One in Tucson has a better Happy Hour (I hate telling you this, as I do not want it to get so packed we can not get in)."
    Dined on 6/2/2014
  • "Title says it all... No I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a bottle of wine. Oh really, you recommend the most expensive thing on the menu? Why is the wait staff looking down on me?"

  • "McMahon's is the best steak restaurant in Tucson. The meat cuts with a butter knife and they are always adding new cuts to the menu! Coi was a pleasure to deal with!!!"
    Dined on 5/26/2014
  • "Thank you for such an enjoyable experience. This was our first time visit; and, we will be coming back regularly. The Rib Eye and Filet were prepared perfectly, so tender, and rank as one of the best steaks we have ever savored. The quality of the cut of meat, the entire presentation, the service, the wine list, and attention to details were perfect. A great choice restaurant for that 'special occasion'- or to enjoy as regulars. Congrats to your staff and chef.....'very well done'. (No pun intended)"

  • "Everybody in McMahons was terrific... Chef prepared a special selection, that Perfect for the occasion ."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "We continued a family tradition of Mother's Day Brunch but this will probably be our last year. The number of selections on the buffet was down from past years, the food was not excellent for the first time and the service was average, but the price tag was not. When we started going for this special meal we used to get a family snap shot and mom got a flower. None of this was in place in 2014. It is too bad that the only thing first class about McMahon's now is the prices."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Advertised price was incorrect. Food quality was fine however compared to prior years it was a poor representation . A huge disappointment ."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "As noted above, everything was very nice. However, sitting next to the kitchen was extremely noisy. We had a difficult time carrying on a conversation and just basically enjoying he night out."
    Dined on 5/9/2014
  • "McMahons is always good, but you just can't find a better deal than the Monday $5.00 burger. There is no skimping, even at this price. Give it a try."

  • "We decided to dine at McMahon's Friday because we received an email for a surf (king crab legs) and turf special. We arrived to a band playing in the patio area. It sounded fun but we opted for indoor dinning. Meal was great. Crab legs and steak were cooked perfectly. Our waiter was Chris P. He was knowledgeable, provided great service and we enjoyed our lighthearted baseball conversation. We enjoyed the no rush, relaxing environment and will definitely return."

  • "Food was awful - steak poor quality and not fresh. Restaurant has seen better days and is in a state of disrepair - piano player created atmosphere that reminded me of the titanic going down. Would be shocked to see MacMahons survive. Avoid at all costs!"
