McKenna's on the BayMcxKenna's Could Have Done BetterI made a reservation and requested outside. When we got there we were offered the last table, by the access doors in the sun without an umbrella. It was Mothers Day and hot as can be. For a 4:30 reservation they could have done better, I can't imagine everyone was out there with reservations. We then said it wasn't acceptable, to plz bring us inside. We had a guest from out of town and wanted a booth by the windows. They said the booths were for larger parties than three. We then took a booth further inside. 20 minutes later, they sat a group of three at one booth and a group of four at the other. I think making a reservation should give preference, if I didn't like the view, I would have made a reservation elsewhere. They blew it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodGreat food & atmosphere. They offer several options to enhance your dining experience. Go casual (bar menu) on the outside patio or more sedate in the dining room, both with great water views that can be amazing at sunset! The live entertainment in the bar is always enjoyable.
I'm not sure why they have a "bar menu" and a "regular menu", because we discovered all food items are available wherever you are seated. Everything we've ever ordered has been really good. Last visit, I had the Halibut Special and it was excellent; although at $32, maybe $5-$6 more that I would have prefered to pay. The wine list is varied with some reasonably priced options. It was a Tuesday night, the place was almost full and there was singing and dancing by the bar. The place was awesome and the food was good. I saw the St. Patrick's Day menu and decided to return. My girlfriend and I ordered Black and Tans to start just to get into the spirit of things then I went for the Bangers and Mash. I was very happy with the bangers but I wish they had gravy for the mashed potatoes. The grilled Brussel sprouts were a pleasant surprise however a bit too salty for my taste. My girlfriend ordered the corned beef and cabbage and was very pleased with her choice. We also ordered oyster shots, a treat were seldom get to enjoy.
