  • "The food quality was excellent, except for the fact that their lobster bisque didn't have any actual lobster in it LOL (it was still tasty). The service was good but not excellent (Capital Grille service is better). The ambience/decor was okay but could also be better (like Capital Grille)."

  • "Food and Service were great. Steak cooked perfect. Very Expensive. Friday night at 8pm. We were one of 3-4 couples there. Recommend lowering price somewhat and/or including the sides with entree'. 4 members in our party, couple drinks each. Tab was over 400.00."

  • "Food and service were excellent. Pricey, but go for the porterhouse and lobster mashed potatoes!"

  • "We have always had great experiences but this was not one them. Everyone who had steaks complained about the amount of salt. I recommend that if you order steaks, ask them to hold the salt rub. They have incredible steaks, not sure why they would cover that up with the excessive salt. Waiter read off the list of specials like he was programmed. When asked questions, he was able to answer but we felt like he came to work with a chip on his shoulder amd we were taking the brunt of that anger. Made everyone at table uncomfortable. I had the 24ounce steak, ate about 6 ounces and was looking forward to taking it home for a steak and egg breakfast. The steak never made it back to table as they forgot and it was thrown away. Disappointing"

  • "Shrimp cocktail - 3 shrimp for $15 nothing extraordinary about them Cold bread and cold butter ... Doesn't spread and tears up the bread Steak was very small but ok Salmon was over cooked and smushed Spinach had a massive glop of hard melted cheese that u had to cut with a knife Potatoes au gratin had another shell of hard melted cheese u had to cut with a knife Gordon Ramsey needs to stop by and have it out with the chef. $200 with tip ??? Not what I had been told about ... Best in town ... No."

  • "we appreciated Paul Leonard's service and humor. He has served us a number of times and is always a delight. Unfortunately, I still find the restaurant rather noisy despite our dining in a side booth."

  • "Overall, there are better options for a steakhouse experience in Atlanta. Table service was rushed, courses were coming out on top of each other. Appetizers were poorly prepared, bisque was watery, oysters were poorly shucked with pieces of shells in every bite. Salad was decent, but our steaks were at the table before we could even have a chance to finish. Steaks were nicely prepared, sides were decent but nothing to write home about. Overall, you pay too much money for this much of a rushed experience."

  • "We went to enjoy an evening w/ friends & family & were not disappointed! The steaks were incredible & believe they are the best in town! Always cooked to order, always consistent! Service was spot on, attentive while allowing the table to enjoy our time together!"

  • "I dined by myself, which I often do when traveling. I was treated very respectfully. My waiter was very polite and helpful. My food came out quickly and my steak was cooked to perfection (it's often hard to get a rare steak cooked correctly). The wild mushroom risotto was wonderful. The white chocolate and Grand Marnier crème brulee was different but very satisfying. I would recommend it. The only downside was a table near me that was somewhat loud. He apparently didn't understand using his inside voice. I will definitely go back if I ever get back to the Atlanta area. This meal was well worth the price"

  • "We went to McKendrick's for our 28th wedding anniversary. Paul was an awesome waiter and was there to service us throughout the evening. He recommended a wonderful Pinot Noir that we had not yet tried. It was wonderful and we will definitely order it again. We used to live in the area and frequented this restaurant many times. It was so nice to go back there again!"

  • "I have been fortunate enough to travel around this globe, and I have dinned at Morton's, The Palm, Bones, Mastroe's, Ruth Chris and I will tell you that Halibut was the Absolute Best Fish Entree I have had anywhere in the world. My husband's steak was also over the top of quality and the service, you can not beat it."

  • "This was my first experience at McKendrick's and it was fantastic! This was a "date-night" dinner and it was a definite success. The service was impeccable and the food was by far some of the best I've ever had. I would without a doubt dine at McKendrick's again! SN: It's a bit pricey but completely worth it."

  • "No better way to celebrate Father's Day than with a great steak! We each had different cuts (I had filet mignonette, hubby had bone in filet and son had NY strip). All were cooked to order. And forget the potatoes when you go here. They have the best lobster Mac in the ATL! Definitely worth the few dollars more and plenty to share 3 ways. My son always orders lobster Mac if on the menu ("what other side dish has my 3 favorite thing; pasta, cheese and lobster"). For dessert, I'd recommend the specialty of the house- creamy cheese cake (also split 3 ways)."

  • "Great restaurant, food was outstanding. We received a complimentary dessert when the waiter found out it was out 45th anniversary. No problem splitting dishes."

  • "While outside the perimeter, this restaurant is definitely tops in steak in our city--a great place to go for a fantastic meal, time after time! A great wine list, delicious food consistently cooked to perfection, and wonderful service."

  • "this is one of my favorite Atlanta area restaurants...delicious food, excellent service, honored reservations. But for the price, it would be nice to be able to hear my dining partner. If you don't get seated in a booth against the back wall, it is just too noisy to carry on a conversation. But, for the bone in ribeye...."

  • "Very nice traditional steak house with great bar and ambiance. Knowledgeable, friendly and professional staff. Had the 35 day aged bone-in rib-eye which was delivcious."

  • "I took a party of 8 out for my daughter's 18th birthday and graduation. We had ages ranging from 7 to 67 at the table and service was excellent and appropriate for all. The food was excellent - we had oysters, lots of king crab legs (cracked, shelled and warm), barbecue shrimp, several salads, bone in filets, tomohawk rib-eyes, drinks, deserts...a grand evening. For all the food and time we spent there, the only complaint is that the evening couldn't last longer. Really well done - steaks cooked to perfection (we ate at Bones two days before and it took them three times to get my daughters filet right), everything just so good - and did I mention the service! "

  • "The waiter that we had originally requested wasn't there, so we were given to one of the newest waiters, Michael. Michael came from the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead and it shows in his outstanding service! The food was great, as always, service was fantastic and I appreciated being allowed to see the kitchen as it was being broken down. We love his place and this visit was very special. "

  • "My dining experience at McKendrick's was pretty good. Steaks were great and the lobster mac and cheese was very good. However, my boyfriend and I were not very happy with the salads. He had the house salad which was a little bland. My spinach salad was okay...needed a little bit more in it for $10. Overall, our experience was good just a few things I could have passed on."

  • "Steaks were awesome! Not used to paying so much for veggies and deserts though, which are way cheaper and tastier at Cracker Barrel. It's a shame that the uppity-muks who frequent these type of places miss out on great food at very resonable prices else ware. Our server, Michael, was very attentive and pleasant. Enjoyed the experience but all in all, I'd rather dine at the Barrel!"

  • "Each one of us in the party of 4 ordered a different fish dish. The lunch entrees come with 2 sides. All quite reasonably priced. I had the tuna steak with soy ginger dipping sauce, it was delicious, not overcooked. In fact on the rare side which was perfect for me. The sides of asparagus and green beans were crisp and sautéed in olive oil as requested. The portions were not big, but definitely enough for me. Everyone at my table enjoyed their fish! I have had steaks at McKendrick's in the past for dinner and they were also delicious. Service most of the time is good. However there was one particular waiter who can be problematic. "

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at MCKendrick's! The food was amazing and our server Marcus definitely steered us in the right direction. We enjoyed the seafood tower and then split everything else: heirloom tomato salad, lobster bisque, the bone in ribeye-'Oscar-ed', & sides of Lobster Mac N Chees & Okra. (For the upcharge, I am not so sure I would do the Oscar next time.) The steak was truly amazing. Everything is a la carte, which can mean that it adds up, our total for the above menu that **we split each dish**, plus a bottle of house wine was $210, but if you are celebrating and not on a budget then its a great place to go. "

  • "Truly one of Atlanta's fine steakhouses! All three diners chose a different steak and all we all thought they were great. The side dishes were outstanding as was the service. If forced to find one area of improvement I'd have to say the lobster bisque was just a tad on the salty side, but not so much that I didn't eat it! Hands down, this is my favorite steakhouse in Atlanta."
