The night I was there, the air conditioning wasn't working too well, and it was rather hot in the restaurant. My server was kept pretty busy by another table, and I didn't think I received very good or prompt service. The food was good. I got the overall impression that the place was rather pretentious. It looked like the kind of place that you would take important guests or business clients.

We eat here often, and love the food. Usually the service is great, too. However, our server on Thurs. evening was rather inattentive. We had to flag her down and ask her to take a drink order before dinner. Then she delivered a totally flat beer to us. We could not get her attention, and had to get the manager who was passing by, to get another beer. This is not what we are used to at McCormick's, and hope it is not the beginning of a trend.

This was definitely the wrong choice for us. The brunch menu was extremely limited, and I woudln't say the restaurant is necessarily kid-friendly. I chose this restaurant because the website listed it as having Denver's largest brunch menu; this couldn't possibly be the case. It was obviously pared down for Mother's Day; something that should have been mentioned on McCormick's' website. Additionally, the waiter was slow, and clearly didn't work with groups with children often. Placing our order and getting my child's food before ours took a lot of effort on our part. Overall, it was a disappointing choice, but I wouldn't mind trying McCormick's for dinner among adults only when we could have a leisurely experience.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2004
    Dined on 4/25/2008
I've been going to McCormick's for either dinner, drinks, lunches or brunches for a long time. Unfortunately this was a pretty bad experience inasmuch as the service was slow - never did get that fork I asked for - and the food was cold and had "sogged" into the bread by the time it was delivered. In their defense it was noontime on a friday so they were very busy. I had an important client who insisted on having what I had - which is typically a wonderful dish but unfortunately was not this time. We waited about 30 minutes to receive our entree's-as did many other people (you could see in their faces that they were getting impatient) Not the worst experience but McCormicks had always been my "go to" place when I needed a winner, too bad.

It was a very enjoyable experience. I rated the noise factor as moderate. We had a table of six and right next to us was a table of eight. They came in after our meal was served and were quite noisy and the waiter had a hard time getting between the tables as they had added two chairs to their table. Having two large round tables could have been prevented as their were two tables of four on the other side. I would recommend that they should separate the two tables for six or eight on a permanent basis.

McCormicks is one of the VERY few good seafood restaurants in Colorado. We've have eaten here many times over the last 5 years and always been very happy with the seafood. Trouble meetings others for lunch due to chaos in bar and confusion at hostess stand. I asked the hostess for help getting the other party to my booth, but her only help was "use your cell phone". Booth was too small - people in next booth banging on shared backrest very annoying. Noise level in restaurant side was out of control. I went with waiter's recommendation of crab/shrimp cakes, which was a mistake - they are the worst I have had in the area. Coffee was old, full of grounds. I would put up with the irritations in the dining room if the food had been better, but the food quality has really slipped since my last visit to this restaurant.

My wife and I wanted to have lunch prior to The opening day of baseball season for the Rockies. I couldn't get a noon reservation at any of the restaurants near the ballpark. The Denver downtown area was a madhouse. However I found I could get one at McCormick's. I had eaten at their restaurant on Union Lake in Seattle and knew they were a top notch restaurant. When we arrived we were seated immediately. I've found many times during crowded times a reservation doesn't mean you'll be seated at your reserved time. I had read on some reviews that McCormick's was very expensive, however I found the prices of the lunch menu reasonable. The food & service was excellent, and the noise level was low . I recommend it for lunch in Downtown Denver.
