Diner Reviews
  • "We've been dining here since they opened those many years ago. We took our Granddaugter and her boyfriend there to celebrate school out. Just like always, we loved the meal. Wait-staff was freindly and helpful. Food was delicious and timely. Prices about where we ecpected them to be. Who could ask for more?"

  • "We ordered from the special 25th Anniversary menu and DOINK!!! The Copper River Salmon was a TINY portion and not perfectly cooked- crispy on top and raw in parts on the inside. The Scallop special was supposed to come with risotto but it was plain ol' long grain rice. One expects more when the entrees are $30+, right? They were out of the econ Chardonnay by the glass, too. Won't be returning!!!"

  • "I am a foodie. Food was not innovative at all. Service was ok for a moderate paced eatery. Nothing wowed me."

  • "I have always enjoyed McCormicks & Schmicks very much. I had lost my card and am soooo happy to get the information to get it replaced. My friend and I used to go for lunch, and plan on going often again. Everyone is soooo helpful and friendly. Thank you very much for such a lovely evening."

  • "I made reservations for a Friday night and despite the restruant being half empty we were seated at the smallest table imaginable. It was very dark and quiet. The waiter kept trying to push expensive food and drinks on us. when I ordered I only got clam chowder and told the waiter it was because I had weight loss surgery and had a small stomach and he literally replied "I don't like customers like you"!! I felt like all he cared about was the size of the check and his tip. He didn't check on us at all during dinner. The food was okay, the potatoes were almost raw in the clam chowder."

  • "Enjoyed coming here once again and the food was quite good. Thought the service was a bit slow, but many people were eating outside, so that may have been one explanation. "

  • "Excellent dinner, good service. We particularly enjoy the early evening dinner."

  • "Fish was dry, vegetables not nicely prepared. Expensive for common meal"

  • "In addition to wonderful food and friendly service, one of our party prefers to eat vegan. Lacking specific vegan items on the menu, he asked the waitress to see if the chef would use his/her imagination and create something vegan. A beautiful pasta-based meal emerged that was delicious and satisfying. The others in our party, both fish lovers, were thrilled with the selections they had made from the menu."

  • "Unfortunately this great long term fish house has gone down hill. Service was very good, the atmosphere was as nice as always, however the meals were less than what was expected. The menu has become very limited. The menu stated the meal was served with roasted vegetables. However it came with sauted zucchini, which is a very inexpensive vegetable, and quite frankly, we would expect more for an establishment like this. Shrimp Scampi was very bland, I am not sure any garlic was even used with the preparation. The fresh salmon was OK at best. Unless we hear things have changed, we will not go back. We have eaten here for over 30 years and it has been one of the best. Today we would not reccommend to anyone."

  • "Very disappointed in the rib eye steak, over seasoned with balsamic or something and full of gristle. Not even close to being worth the $35 price tag. The lobster tail that my wife ordered was also a disappointment. The flavor and texture was fine both the portion was out of the Jenny Craig catalog. I've caught larger crawfish. Will not be dinning at this establishment again."

  • "We are on a restricted diet and thought this restaurant would be a good choice for seafood. Our special requests were ignored when our plates arrived and our wait person was nowhere to be seen. Overpriced for a small piece of fish! Used to really like this place but it isn't what it used to be."

  • "Looking for a place to eat for adults as it was prom night. Ate in the bar and had a nice quit dinner. The food was terrific."

  • "This was our first time at this location. It had a bit of a diner feel to us, but that is because we are used to the locations on the waterfronts. The food and service was good as always and we remain loyal members of the Landry's Club."

  • "The restaurant was quiet, conversation in normal tones across the table. Food speciality drinks were fresh and prepared with care. Plus if you are a Landry member the perks and discounts are really excellent--I redeemed birthday and points for a $50 discount. A really pleasant restaurant with attention to serving detail and great food.."

  • "I took my wife there for mother's day date night, and we had a nice time. The beer and wine selection was nice, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was very good. We found the portion sizes a little small for the price and the way the tables are set up it seemed a little cramped, but these were our only complaints. I would recommend this for small groups but would advise going on off-hours for any group larger than about four."

  • "Took our very elderly Mom for Mother's Day Brunch...very disappointing. The Crab Cake Benedict, which was $17.99 had two crab cakes that were each the size of a half dollar. The egg that sat on each was jokingly referred to as "quail" eggs...come on guys, are you kidding??? The place is expensive, the quality of the food is mediocre. I doubt they could pay me to return. Portland has so many great restaurants...do yourself a favor and skip this one!"

  • "We met friends for a 5-year celebration, and the food was excellent as usual at McCormick's. Our waiter was excellent and didn't bother us but was attentive. It helped that it was not busy on a Monday night (a great night to go), but nonetheless was great. Our table had seared ahi, parmesan crusted sole, fried razor clams and butterflied shrimp, and everyone thought it was excellent. "

  • "Get to Portland area 3-4 times a year and always make sure I have dinner with family or friends at McCormick's, the service & food have always been great!"

  • "All seafood we've ordered has been well prepared, not over-cooked or flavors overpowered by condiments. I recommend a better preparation of the vegetables; good selection and proper cooking for texture."

  • "Food was so so. For appetizers we had the Dungeoness Tower which was more like a tiny cylinder... and the Calamari which was nice. My daughter had the sturgeon and that was excellent. The Tilapia was not cooked very well and the Alaskan Razor Clams were pretty chewy. The vegetables that came with the dinner were "steamed" however not enough, they were barely warm and raw. The couscous that came with the Tilapia was a poor choice as it had an odd taste and the parsnips in it gave it no added flavor, nor color. Dessert was very nice with the chocolate bag, which was more of a box really. Service was good starting out, however the swordfish wasn't available as first ordered. By the end of the meal, service slowed to a crawl."

  • "The food was good but the price was out of this world. We won't be back as it took a long time to get our water refilled and we were not asked if we would like to take home our expensive left overs. They were just removed."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Food portions are small and expensive. Decor is out dated and dark. Not all ingredients in a dish are listed on the menu, ex: the crusted tilapia comes with a pineapple mango salsa on top which was not listed on the description on the menu, my mom is allergic to pineapple so she had to return her dish. By the time she got her replacement dish the rest of the family had already finished there meal."

  • "Staff friendly and were super accommodating in taking my husbands dinner back but for the price I think they. Oils serve better than 2 stems of crunchy broccoli. The sturgeon was okay, the waitress did not recommend the Mahi Mahi so I didn't get it. My husband got the Mahi and it was delicious. Very few dairy free options and what they offered was flavorless. We did get free dessert for our Anniversary."

  • "There was a problem with the heating and cooling system which caused cool air to be blown on us. When we asked if something could be done. The waiter said it is all automated and nothing could be done. It is something they experience everyday about the same time and was supposed to stop shortly. It was annoying and started past the point where it was convenient to move. If they knew this was going happen, I didn't understand why they sat us there. It was later in the evening and more than half the restaurant was available. My rib eye steak however was absolutely perfect and I was very impressed with the seasoning. It was delicious!!"

  • "McCormick's Fish House was a disappointment. It has been almost 15 years since we were there last. It seemed like the menu offerings haven't really changed in all these years. The different items ordered by our group of six , Caesar salad with grilled salmon, Mahimahi, fish and chips etc were at best just average. Wines by the glass although decent selection were over priced. Asking $9.75 for a glass of Malbec that normally retails for $8.00/btl in local stores is highway robbery. I would not recommend going to a chain restaurant."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "The prices are too high for the quality of the food. Not likely to return."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "as when under local management.... seafood choices are limited and not as creative... hello chain!"
