However, the food at the other Houston locations is significantly better. At this location, the food was tolerable, but it could have been seasoned better. My dishes were essentially somewhat bland. The service by the wait staff was very good and they were attentive to our needs. My wife has been here before and wanted to go here for her birthday, in the early evening. The birthday was noted on the reservation. The staff, (hostess) communicated this to the waiter. They both wished her a happy birthday. It was graduation time, so the restaurant was busy with family parties, but nonetheless, we had a great dinner and great time watching the family interaction in front of us.
I'd go back!!! The ambiance was nice and in late evenings, I'm sure it gets even better. The food was great and the pace of the dinner was above average. The wait staff was friendly and they seemed to work and coordinate well together.

We all had something different- sea scallops (excellent), seared mahii (excellent), red fish ( goodt, a little dry) and the blackened Mahi was ok....it was barely blackened. We had a variety of salads and appetizers that were all great especially the crab tower, the avocado was very fresh. We shared a Quatros Leches which as delicious, the use of coconut milk added such wonderful flavor! Service was ok, the waitress was a little pushy with the wine list, even after declining several times and the bus boy/water staff was careless and sloppy. Spilling water on the table when filling glasses, not delivering bread when asked for it, and the taking dishes before we were done. She was very impressed with the outstanding quality of the food, as well as the exceptional service. The addition of "Happy Birthday Schyler" at the top of the menu was a nice touch for her. Even though this is a seafood restaurant, their steak is one of the best I have had.
We had their apple pie and their "cuatro" leches cake. Both were sinfully good and I highly recommend them both.

The menu has items that are out of the ordinary, and also has some seafood staples (fried fish) that should please children. However, we were surprised that the restaurant didn't serve bread with drinks or with dinner. We were also a little surprised by the amount of noise in the restaurant. Less noise would have made this an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. I would also recommend that McCormick set aside different areas of the restaurant for different kinds of customers.
