  • "The food and service at this restaurant are excellent. The atmosphere is light and airy with an open feel. But the openness makes it somewhat loud. We were in a booth with seats on three sides and a square table. That meant thY two of us were sitting best to each other with the other two on the ends. It made conversation a little difficult, which was compounded by the noise level. Nevertheless, our server was exceptional and our food was perfectly prepared."

  • "There was great music playing and on a Thursday night, a lot of energy and it was packed! We went off of the HRW menu and started with the salad which was outstanding... blue cheese, pecans, and a wonderful dressing. Entree I had the steak and shrimp. Those were both good but the oven potatoes blew me away and were perfectly seasoned and the right amount of crisp. Dessert was the chocolate cake with heath bar crumbles. YUM. And perfect portion size."

  • "We set an early dinner date, 5:30, for getting together with old friends. The restaurant was not crowded at that time. There were 9 of us, and we were seated at a long table in the back dining room. It was quiet and comfortable for such a gathering. At one point the music was way too loud, and our waiter was able to turn it down immediately as requested. We were able to talk and hear each other and were able to enjoy a wonderful dinner together. Our waiter was very accommodating and everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed their dinner. We would dine here again."

I was not bemused by the kid pouring the water doing some sort of silly walk in the dining room....clearly, he was more full of himself than the glasses were of water. Service seemed slow otherwise, though all requests were fulfilled, eventually. The bar music really detracted from the ambiance the restaurant could have had."

  • "I took a group here for work, which included multiple people with dietary considerations such as a vegetarian and gluten free diner. I called the restaurant ahead of time and they were more than accommodating. Normally the vegetarian would have found something on the menu and asked for the meat to be excluded, but in this case, they were able to ensure that other options would be available for him and noted by the server when we arrived. Our server, Megan, was spunky and checked on us accordingly, even though the restaurant and her section were very busy."

  • "This was a lunch outing 8/13. Didn't know this was under Landry's chain. Coconut shrimp was good but they need try again on shrimp/grits blah:(. The shrimp/grits entree the shrimp wrapped in bacon but drowned in mango BBQ sauce not cooked in to infuse the flavor. Hostess was dry upon our entry but waitstaff was great. Setting was great with nice decor. We went for restaurant week maybe that had something to do with it."

  • "This happens to be one of the spots that supports restaurant week 2014 benefiting the Houston Food Bank. The 3 course meal selections were wonderful. I had the Apple Salad, Steak Medallions & Stuff Shrimp & the heavenly Creme Brulee. The atmosphere and staff was very pleasant! Oh, can't forget the bartender...A serious Apple Martini!"

  • "we were there for restaurant week, but ended up getting the steak and lobster special. the main food was wonderful. the bread was not hot and nothing special. the service was ok, but apparently the manager was upset the food took so long. so we were told he laid into the cooks. all in all i would go again, the quality overall was very good."

  • "We like to dine out and do it often. This was our first visit to this restaurant. I had been to other M&S' in other cities, and had very good experiences there. Unfortunately, this dinner did not live up to my expectations. We had 2 servers who were "tag teaming" our table and they didn't seem to communicate well with each other because there were mixups with our order and delays in getting our main course. Then, when we received the check we noticed that the cocktails we had in the bar were included on our bill, even though we had already paid for them in the bar. The double charge was resolved, but just left a bad impression overall. There are so many good restaurants in Houston, I feel no loss in avoiding this one in future."

  • "My husband and I were taking friends to dinner and thinking we would take advantage of the Houston Restaurant Week(month) specials. That menu was different, and disappointing. We decided to order off the regular menu. It was edible, but for example, my redfish dish...at $28.00 was NOTHING special. It was not off-flavor...it was flavorless. I asked my husband about his dinner - and he had something entirely different, but had same reaction. We have eaten at the West Loop McCormick's in the past and it was good. So I don't know if it was this location or what I ordered. I did not poll our guests about their food. Way to much to pay for NOTHING SPECIAL! Won't be back."

  • "I thought the restaurant was outstanding....food was first class. I had the salmon and an appetizer and it was delicious...generous portion. Service was good. Parking was a nightmare. Doubt I'll ever go that particular location again. Construction, traffic and lack of parking was very confusing. The valet parking was wonderful at the restaurant and the attendant actually came into the restaurant and found me to deliver my keys because valet parking was over for the afternoon. He wouldn't let me pay him and left my car right outside the door. I was impressed with his service. I'm an older patron, so this is very important to me."

  • "I recommended this restaurant to business colleagues and all four of us were disappointed with our meals. The parmenan crusted dishes were too salty (inedible at some points) and the fish tacos were tasteless. The parmesa crusted fish was overcooked and the small end of the filet was crunch like a potato chip."

  • "First, the restaurant didn't have our reservation but they were able to seat us. They were busy and it took a long time for us to get our drinks. We were a party of 7 and they put us at a table for 10, which was kind of awkward and made us very close to the nearby booths. As our waitress was delivering our drinks, the waitress serving the booth next us bumped into our waitress and knocked the drinks all over one of the members of our party. This meant another 10 minutes wait for the two drinks we didn't get but they were kind enough to comp them. The food was pretty good and the waitress was doing the best she could. They did start vacuuming as we were finishing our dessert and it was only 9:20. We thought that was uncalled for."

  • "I can always count on M&S to deliver good quality, great variety and focused service. It's great for special occasions or an informal lunch. They also prepare a "keepsake" menu with a customized letterhead for special occasions upon request (i.e. Steve's Birthday Menu). It's a nice touch and indicative of their customer-focused staff. The fresh fish is truly fresh and the chef's specials are truly special. Do not hesitate to visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed."

  • "Went to dinner here with another couple to celebrate our anniversary. The food and ambience was great. Our only issue was that we had reservations through open table, but was told they didn't have us down. Moments later they stated we were only book for 2. After standing there for 10 minutes, they finally go it together and sat us down. I was mad about this since I knew we had a confirmation email stating the date, time and number of people, however the meal made up for it."

  • "My husband and I have dined at McCormick & Schmick's several times, either by ourselves or with others, and have always enjoyed it. This delicious, romantic dinner topped them all. I took my husband there to celebrate his birthday, and both of us were impressed with our meals. My grilled Gulf red snapper had "just walked in the door" that afternoon, according to our excellent waiter, John, and was cooked perfectly. The Gruyere potatoes were as awesome as always. We finished the meal by sharing the complimentary birthday dessert (molten chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream, topped with a candle)--a great way to end our dinner. The service, food and atmosphere were all top-notch; we plan to return soon!"

  • "We reserved a table for our anniversary, thinking it would be a nice place like Perry's. Wrong, It was not impressive, in fact we got up and left which is out of our nature to do such a thing. The impression I received was just another place to eat, no special details to the place. Our waitress took a while before she even brought us water. We waited patiently and since she never returned to take our order, we left."

(i.e. Eddie V's, Trulucks, Capital Grill, Vic and Anthony's) The restaurant was maybe 25% occupied at 7:30 on a Saturday night, perhaps everyone else already knew what I found out."

  • "Incredible array of oysters. Malpeques from Prince Edward Island were superb.....and entree of scallops very well prepared and presented. Only issue was service deteriorated as it got busier. Will return to try more of the oyster offerings and some more entrees. The "quatro leches" dessert, while delicious, did not taste any different from "tres leches"."
