McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Virginia BeachGreat foodI made reservations for 430 PM for 4 people for Mother's Day since my mom wanted to try this restuarant. Our party arrived around 4 PM (since my family is ALWAYS early). The hostess quickly checked us in and told us it would be a few moments before we were seated. 30 minutes later we were finally seated after my MOM asked how much longer it would be. Now normally this wouldnt have been an issue; however, there were MANY open tables and people who didnt have reservations were seated immediately. I had requested a "window booth", and all the window booths were mostly empty. I should state that my husband does not walk well and uses a cane, and was most upset that she walked us all the way through the restaurant. After leaving us standing at the very dark booth she went back to the hostess station and then came back and seated us in a very nice window booth.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMJessica's Graduation LunchAfter an exciting day at my daughter's graduation from ODU, to be able to come to McCormick and Schmick's for a wonderful sit down meal. Service was great! They seated us immediately and our waitress, Veronica, was fantastic. The Blue Crab Dip and the Shrimp Kisses were a delicious start. The Almond Crusted Rainbow Trout was wonderful. We also had Stuffed Shrimp that was cooked to perfection, the Cedar Roasted Atlantic Salmon with a Northwest Berry Sauce, Fish Tacos, the Baked Cod, and Shrimp Mac and Cheese. The waiter also mentioned a new drink the Pomegranate Fizz which was good. Overall our experience at McCormick and Schmick's was wonderful. We had my grandson with us, along with friends. The waitress was pleasant, and more than accomodating to a 20 month old. Before we could even ask or order she bought out crackers for snacks for the little one, and she went back for "more" when he requested this "big-hit" snack. The food was great! We were promptly seated, given special, keepsake menues and seated at a nice table by a window. There was a slight delay in receiving our server's attention, but he made up for it in by being engaging and informative. The food was superior and the service was great. He was one of the best waiters I have had in many years, as he was fun yet still being very professional. I would call him a "perfect waiter". Unfortunately, like a lot of staples in the community, "familiarity breeds contempt". McCormack and Schmick became lazy and disconnect. I'm happy to say that they're back to their first love. Great service and food.
Obviously, one goes there for the seafood. On this day, I ordered the lobster bisque soup. This course has large chunks of Maine lobster with a broth poured at the table. It's a great starter. My main course was just the Lobster Cobb salad. It's a work of art. There are multiple levels stacked on the plate in a rainbow of colors and flavors.

The service was outstanding, the food was served hot and all together, the drink refills kept arriving as needed and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the liesure atmosphere. With the great variety of dishes that are always available and the seasonal items, this is our favorite spot for a well prepared meal and a relaxing time.
