At McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in the Reston Town Center, our hallmark is the freshest fish and seafood from around the world served in a traditional decor. Our fresh daily menu highlights favorites from our Pacific Northestern origins-Alaskan King Salmon, Wild halibut, and Northwest Oysters-along with East Coast Specialties like Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab and Maine Lobster. All this is presented in a handsome decor of rich mahogany accented with copper paneling, custom chandeliers and Virginia-themed stained glass ceilings.

  • "When our children and grandchildren arrived from San Francisco, we headed to McCormick & Schmick in Reston for dinner. The food was delicious and the waiter was helpful and attentive. We were particularly happy to be seated in one of the "private booths" which allowed us to talk without having to compete with other diners' conversations and enjoy some privacy. At the end of the meal, we ordered a couple of apple upside-down pies with cinnamon ice cream to share. It was a great day to top off a very delightful dinner. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We arrived at the Reston M&S about 15 min early for our Saturday 5pm reservation and were immediately seated. I had the chicken fettucine and my wife had the stuffed shrimp. Mine was delicious and my wife actually cleaned her plate for once. We did have a problem with a crabcake but our server and management were most apologetic and generous in adjusting our bill. The apple cake was delicious and enough for two. 5pm seemed the best time to go. At six the place started filling up."

  • "Who would think a seafood restaurant would have such an awesome brunch menu?? I went to M&S for my birthday brunch with a group of friends. The Build your own Blood Marys were awesome, the cinnamon rolls were to die for, and the food was just all around great. This must be a relatively undiscovered brunch spot, because at 11:30 we were the only people in the restaurant. Other slowly trickled in closer to noon, so it must be decent for lunch too. I've been for dinner, and while it's a little on the pricier side, brunch is a lot more reasonable."

  • "Everything was fine that night except the server seemed to be rushing us. An old friend had come into town and we wanted to have time to catch up. Our reservation was for 6:00 on a Sunday night & the place didn't look too crowded, but the server was really pushing us to order, then to move on to the next course, bring our check, etc. It would have been a more pleasant experience if we had been able to relax a little."

  • "My party of three dined there on a Saturday evening. We enjoyed a great drink and personal service in the bar prior to our meal. We then chose to eat in a booth where we could have a "private" meal with the stylish curtains drawn on the booth. On of our party was from out of state, so it was especially nice to have this intimate feature. We ordered crab cakes and steak and lobster. The entrees were served in a timely manner and were wonderful. Great service. Delightful experience."

  • "Kerry Glynn was the point of contact and provided great service in helping me coordinate a company dinner for 25 people. The serving staff were professional, fun, and very accomodating. With several last minute requests and changes, they pulled it off without a complaint or issue. I highly recomment this restaurant and appreciate the excellent service we were provided. The food was delicious and portions reasonable. We selected from a set plate menu and I have to say the options were great! The only complaint I heard was the flounder/sole portion was quiet small. I had the salmon which was done to perfection. Thanks again to all the staff who helped to provide an awesome experience!"

  • "Once seated, the dinning experience (quality of food and wait service) for my wife and I was very good. We arrived at approximately 4:50 for a 5:30 reservation. The restaurant was LESS than 40% full. Hostess told us that we would have to wait or go to the bar since we were early. There was ONE large party of 10 in front of us and they would have to be seated first. Fair enough. We did not go to the bar since there was an abundance of tables and we could not imagine it would take any time to seat them, then us. Well, 15 minutes later, we were seated IN FRONT of the large party. Shortly thereafter, the large party was seated next to us. The problem: nobody seemed to be able to put three tables together for them! Very poor communications."

  • "This is the second time in about three months that we have given this place a try. I have to say although our server was very attentive, there wasn't much she could do to speed up the kitchen. The last time we ate here it also took almost an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. Once arrived, the food was fine, but not really worth that long of a wait."

  • "Resturant called to confirm reservation that day - first time any restaurant has done that; god follow-up. We arrived about 20-min early but were seated in short order. The waitstaff was adequate; I asked for a Tanguay martini straight up with olives and Lucie asked what kind of gin I wanted. Huh? The drink arrived without olives, which she did bing back to the table. The meal was fantastic. However it was all ruined when Lucie went into a sales mode for some sort of point cards, She did stop when I indicated that I was in no way interested in this product. Why am I subject to a sales pitch after enjoying a great meal with my wife? Makes me think if I would ever return."

  • "Folks you used to have a baked scrod or Cod type of fish, which does not have the fishy taste that was really good. You don't have this anymore, so I go all the way to Legal Seafood in Tysons for a baked scrod. Can you bring back a less fishy tasting fish which is baked? Cod, Scrod, even Orange Roughy works. I elected to eat fried shrimp which I can get almost anywhere which diminished the experience at your restaurant. I know you know how to fix fish for great taste and I missed your baked mild white fish."

  • "We went for dinner on a Sunday evening and the restaurant wasn't busy. Ordered the 4 course dinner and the blue crab dip appetizer. The appetizer came out after our soup/salad. Ok not a big issue. Food was excellent. Then our entrees arrived. Mine was perfect. My companion's was the wrong one - he had ordered shrimp and salmon was delivered. The server apologized and took his plate back, leaving me with the choice of eating before him or letting mine get cold. No adjustment was offered, so dinner was uneven. The server also didn't know if sides were included with the entrees."

  • "I suggested McCormick &Schmick's for my Mom's Birthday lunch, because she doesn't eat meat on Fridays. She agreed, as she's never been before, and thought it would be fun to try something new. We had a flatbread appetizer with mushrooms and goat cheese that was very good, if a little overdone. My Mom selected the 2-course meal, and had Fish & Chips & Shrimp, with the walnut and greens salad. I had my favorite Buttermilk Fried Shrimp, which never disappoints. We had good service, but not as attentive as I would expect, as the restaurant was fairly quiet. We both thoroughly enjoyed our selections, and my Mom declared McCormick & Schmick's her new favorite restaurant -- we'll definitely be back soon!"

  • "My husband and I had 6:30 reservations and the first table they tried to seat us at was just outside the bar---it was Friday night happy hour and quite loud, so we asked to be seated elsewhere. This seemed to be an imposition on the hostess who finally seated us in the back dining room next to the kitchen. That was fine. Food was adequate--nothing special--and overpriced. The server was friendly but nothing special. We only went there because I had received a gift card and had to use it there. We won't be back there."

  • "This was our first time to a McCormick & Schmicks. We've dined at higher end restaurants like this on many occasions and have had much better experiences. To start, it was 8 minutes after being seated before we had anyone come to the table. I don't need to be pampered, but someone should have come to the table to offer water at least. The server was polite but not attentive, I could've got the same service at any family bar & grill for a tenth of the price. We had to ask for water refills, a pet peeve of mine. A server for the table next to us had a pitcher, looked at our empty glasses and walked off. Our guy then had to be asked to refill our glasses. This should be an automatic thing. The food was great, though. Service, not so much"

  • "We enjoyed our visit on President's Day. Some parking issues - surprised to find the parking decks nearly full by noon - but we were seated promptly. Kudos to our server, who offered cocktail and menu suggestions. I asked about scallops (only on the lunch menu as part of a mixed seafood dish); he checked with the kitchen and confirmed they could make sauteed scallops from the dinner menu for me - it was delicious. My husband and sister enjoyed their selections as well. The server must have been over-extended at the end of our stay, as we had a 5-10 minute wait trying to get his attention to ask for our check. We all commented that the noise level here was preferrable to Jackson's, and a nicer atmosphere. We will return."

  • "Very long wait to get to the desk to check in, entry extremely, annoyingly small and crowded. Very poorly managed. Once we got seated, took three tries to bring me the correct drink, it was just a Manhattan. It finally came after the food. It was tiny and tasted watered down. No offer of compensation for the mistakes. Ordered steak medium rare, it came medium well. Didn't bother sending it back. Noticed that a neighboring table got a completely wrong main dish. The open kitchen layout means you have to listen to the kitchen manager yelling for food to be picked up, yelling for runners, yelling at cooks, yelling at waiters. The employees all seemed unhappy and stressed. All-in-all, an unpleasant experience, we will not bother going back."

  • "Made reservations for Valentine's Day, as we went there before and had a great time. However, it was a total mad house! It took quite a while to even get someone to come by, and then it took equally long to get our drinks and bread (which I had to ask for). I understand it is a busy dining holiday, but they didn't do anything to make it a little bit more special. They advertised a special Valentine's menu, so either I misread it or there just wasn't one. Also, I asked my server abut the dish I wanted to order, specifically whether it comes with a side and was told no, so I ordered a side. However my dish did come with a side....and their sides are all at least $7! I will try to avoid the place during busy dining events."
