At the peak of the evening the noise level still got quite loud and discussion became difficult. Rated food one star off due to portion size management. My husband and I both ordered the Ahi Tuna dinner portion. The size of the tuna slices was noticeably different by approx an inch. The server noticed the size difference and server the larger portion to my spouse. I would have preferred two more balanced portions. I was only eating the ahi while my spouse also enjoyed a Cesar salad and bread. Overall ambiance was upscale and comfortable, but not "country club" quality. Chatter was very loud - what I would expect in a bar scene -live acoustics. Place settings were sparse with incorrect flatware. No salad forks. All spoons the same size. Plastic table mats & electronic winking candle were cheesy. Glassware-typical restaurant, nothing special for my top shelf scotch. Lighting was almost too dim - annoying. . Service was above average but not exceptional. Server knew his wines. Food was top notch, adequate quantity with vegetable and swordfish sauce a delight. Done to perfection. Pricey! $$$$. 2 people -well over $100.00 w/drinks, but no dessert. The place was packed and loud, so being "isolated" in the booth made it very nice. Service was a little spotty, (forgot to serve bread and a bit of a long wait between 1st two courses) but otherwise very good, especially since it was packed. The calamari, grilled seafood trio and seared tuna were all very good. I think the chopped salad is excellent. The caesar salads were fabulous, the scallops were cooked to perfection and the hash brown/potato and spinach they rested on were delicious, the salmon was very good and the 3 people who ate the beef raved. Considering we had the reservation, we were surprised to get a table for 6, which meant the table was not romantic but a bit big, plus the waitress leaned over us to remove the other placemats which took some time. Food was delicious, as it always is, but in spite of us stating that we are not in a hurry and there to enjoy, the waitress was nice but a bit pushy, asking us to order when we were not ready for it. Considering we ordered a bottle of wine, a dozen oysters, then a starter, plus two main dishes and a side order, we felt rushed and decided not to do dessert or digestive, but to have them at home. Though they don't officially reserve specific tables, they made sure to give us the corner booth that we were hoping for knowing that it was our anniversary. Beautifully plated, perfectly prepared, delicious. Couldn't have asked for more.
