We went very last minute, we were in town visiting friends from out of state. Decided to have dinner early in town. Because I received a coupon That Day from McCormick & Schmick for lobster tail and steak, we chose them ( after Oyster House closed for holiday ). The meat was done to my request(medium) and very tasty, with a good sauce. Lots of flavor in the lobster tail, too. Came with perfect roasted potatoes and grilled tomato. We shared lump crabmeat, avocado and mango, small for the price but good flavors. My husband enjoyed his almond crusted trout, not many almonds but grilled well, not overcooked, moist. He enjoyed the fish. The cous cous was supposed to have sweet potato, very little found! Went to Franklin Fountain for dessert!

We've dined in other M&S locations before. This site is spacious and comfortable. Good menu selections, and we generally enjoyed our food. This time, our food was consistently very SALTY. We pointed it out to the waiter, who shrugged and said something to the effect that this was the Chef's style. Well, that's not OUR style...

It was OK! I thought I was going to WOW over my food! Ordered the Shrimp Kisses, they were a bit overcooked! My steak was just ok! Not the best I've had! When the server gave me our bill .. He ran my credit card for $32 MORE than what my bill actually was!! When I questioned him I was reassured it was a mistake and I will not get charged the higher amount!! Well, guess what, I did!! So now I need to contact the manager and my cc company! I am not happy about that at all!! I would not rush back there to have dinner!! For the price of the food (I'm not cheap) you get very small portions!! Asparagus came with the dinner.. I do not eat asparagus server never offered anything else and when I asked I was told I couldn't have another vegetable!

I visit McCormick and Schmick's often as it is in a convenient center city Philadelphia location. As I work in the building next door, I also attend with business partners when they are in town. Service and food are consistently good.

I took my girlfriend here for her Birthday and we left with a terrible experience. Our server never introduce his name to us, he took about 10 minutes to come to greet us, never mention or ask if we would like to know tonight's special or anything. I did the reservation through open table and did fill that it's a Birthday occasion but when we order desert.... there is no "Happy Birthday" on her cake because all the restaurants I took her to before at least write Happy Birthday when we order dessert to make the occasion special since we chose to spend money and time here. The worse part that got me really upset aside from the bad service, when he gave us the check he just tossed it on the table which I found very rude and unprofessional.

My girlfriend and I attempted to have a romantic dinner here while on a quick vacation getaway. Rather, we were greeted with inattentive wait staff, patrons that thought baseball hats, plaid shorts and bright colored high tops were appropriate, and worst of all, poorly prepared meals that lacked flavor, texture and even temperature. If you have another choice available, go there... even if it is a taco truck, you will be more satisfied. We both ordered fish dishes, mine was so incredibly tiny while hers looked to be enough to feed a small family. My sides were cold and bland; hers were under cooked and under seasoned. I'm ashamed that I chose this restaurant to attempt to have a romantic dinner, as it only backfired on our evening.

The staff was extremely accommodating on seating our party that had a veteran in an accessible chair (the main entrance has stairs, so one person in the party must go in and the greeter will handle getting a side entrance opened. The food was pretty standard, except for a few unusual twists on the side dishes. Try to go "out of the box" when ordering and try specials; you won't be sorry. -a

Our table for four was ready and waiting. The service was pleasant and courteous. The menu is the same no matter where you eat--we have been to this restaurant in Denver, Washington, DC and now Philadelphia. The focus is on fish and the selection is extensive. McCormick and Schmick's is always reliable. The location in the heart of Center City could not be better. The food preparation is very good and with large portions (sometimes too large). We had an enjoyable evening.

We have dined at this McCormick & Schmick's on many occasions. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. The food was not up to their usual standard and our server seemed very distracted and slow. We watched other servers be prompt and attentive with their tables. We dine out on a regular basis and good service is an important part of the experience.

Food was as good as always but the service was the worst I have experience at any of the M & S places and I have visited most of there places in a variety of cities more then once over the last 7 years. The waitress broke both corks and could barely open the wine at the table, she asked for help the second time from another staff member. She had no clue how to serve a table and was very disengaged at serving the party of 7 we had. I was very disappointed and will not be coming back or recommending the Philadelphia location anytime soon.

I used to dine at McCormick & Schmick's during business lunches a few years back. With its proximity to City Hall, it was a natural. Then, the food was so tasty I didn't realize it was a chain. Boy, you can tell it's a chain today! The fried oyster platter I had was not only greasy, but also skimpy. The clam chowder came out lukewarm at best. The waiter was a decent enough chap, but there is no way the food that was served was worth the money. I was saddened, on many fronts.

I have been extremely disappointed the past two time that I have been here. They used to be top quality with a list of fish that change regularly based on season and what was available. The past two times the meals have been terrible. The selection of fish is limited. This past time I should have walked out as soon as the hostess rolled her eyes in annoyance (at 5:30 on a Sunday), they were not busy. There was no reason for the attitude or the poor service. Top it all off with I didn't even get the correct entree or the correct bill. My husband, kids and I have been frequenting McCormick & Schmick's for at least the past 10 years. They have lost my business forever.

Nothing exceptional. Good food. Fair service. A little pricey. Good for a first date for a young couple. Not for the experienced seafood lover though. Would go back if I was out of town and saw a Mc & Sch I would go but don't really have any plans on going back to the one here in Philly. Menu is a little misleading especially about the appetizers being enough for two. They aren't. Now that I think about it, I might go on Restaurant week.

I imagined that it would be a ghost-town in mid-July, but McCormick & Schmick's was buzzing at lunchtime...and on a Monday, no less. I was there for a business meeting over an early lunch and enjoyed good food and good service - not too intrusive and not at all evasive. I had the blackened Mahi-Mahi served with spinach and mashed potatoes with Andouille sausage. Nice, lunch-sized portion. Flavorful and prepared perfectly. Stingy on the bread for the table, though. Especially since the Cherry Hill (NJ) location has closed, this is the only area M&S that's convenient. Having had less than stellar experiences in the Center City Phila. location before, I was very pleasantly surprised with this recent visit & look forward to returning soon.

We celebrated our 41st anniversary. This was mentioned to the waiter and he wished us a happy anniversary. The food was delicious. I ordered the fried shrimp. It was delicious. However, it did not agree with me later in the evening and I was in the bathroom most of the night. I attribute it to the fact that I never eat fried food, but I was so hungry for fried shrimp. Never again!!! Overall, very nice evening. The waiter needed to check on us more often. There was a longer than usual wait for our dessert and the bill.

My meal was absolutely delicious. My wife said her meal was delicious. So needless to say we really enjoyed our dinner. The only complaint that I had was the bread that was served before the meal. They served this regular roll/bread that wasn't warm or anything. They brought one piece to share. Not reAlly a big deal I just think it didn't match the rest of the meal. Over all it was fantastic and we are definitely going back!

The last time I went to MCormick and Schmick's it was great. So I was very evicted to take a client for lunch. I ordered a lobster Cobb salad that had very little lobster for $22.00 and was not great! Thought it was just my entree but the others also commented that theirs was just fair. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We have eaten here many other times, so we chose to celebrate our anniversary at M & S. What a mistake. They were out of both the appetizer and entree I wanted. The waitress was lackadaisical, my steak was flavorless, my husband's fish was ok. The waitress never asked how the meal was, I think she knew. I'll think twice before I go back.

I've been to M&S's in DC and Columbus, OH and was much more impressed. To start with we sat in the bar area after we showed up for our reservation at 8:25 and were told we are clearing your table now. Which is no big deal but they sat 3 other ranked and the bar was half empty so we chose there. When another hostess of our decision she apologized that a table had been ready the whole time. The server in the bar area was so-so. To many tables for her to handle efficiently it appeared. My wife got the filet and stuffed shrimp and it amazed me they wod serve the piece of neat they brought out It may have been 4ozvand was way over cooked. Stuffed shrimp was good. I got the bone-in ribeye which was cooked perfectly and was happy with.
