the service was ok but the maitre`d was not that helpful when asked about parking. And then the final shocker was when the valet told us the parking was 18$$ that was a big surprise. I won`t return and will not recommend to freinds

We were underwhelmed with our service. The food was acceptable but nothing outstanding. Had heard many good things about the restaurant but after eating there realized it was like every other chain and nothing spectacular. Wish we had made a different choice for our evening out.

There for a birthday celebrations; they asked over the phone the occasion, but did nothing special or extra. SERVICE was SLOW.....REALLY Slow. drinks and apps took forever. Food was okay...lobster looked like it was sitting the window for too long. Nothing was above or beyond. Have been there, and others before, when it was much better. That's why I would recommend it again, but that's the ONLY reason. A foodie at heart and a chef at home. I look for good quality. This just didn't hit the bar.

Everything was perfect. We made reservations and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was attentive and social. The food was OUTSTANDING. The appetizers were delicious and our seafood entrees were impeccable! My husband kept commenting on how great everything was. We would of stayed all night and kept eating and drinking if we didn't have a show to see! It's on our list to go back too!!.

McCormick & Schmick's Restaurant is a chain but frankly, it is a local gem in Philadelphia. One of our party ordered a steak and the portion was vanishingly small. Truthfully, this is a fish and seafood restaurant and the others, as I was, were impressed. Close to all that there is to see in Philly, McCormick & Schmidt's is worth the visit.

What else should I said than "Avoid it" !! Poor food, poor service, overall bad experience. Spend a few more USD and go to a real good steakhouse in Philadelphia... Was with a party of 8 and that was the only place where we could get a reservation. I now understand why :-))

Returned after having visited in March. We also visit other store locations when the opportunity arises. The service and attention is very good. Menu is comprehensive and offers several mix and match options. Food quality is good with the only caviat being to suggest a little less salt be added to dishes. Minor point but you may hear from others as well.

I was satisfied, but not overly impressed. The food and cocktails were well made, but not distinctive. The biggest disappointment was the atmosphere. We had a relatively early reservation in order to get to a show, and the restaurant was understandably slow. Despite walking past the near empty main dining room we were taken upstairs, down a long small hallway, to a nook with a table for six, though we were two. There were no other guests around at all, and it felt rather like dining in a closet. I assumed that the main dining room would quickly fill with guests who had booked earlier, (or were more important) but it did not. If you are looking for privacy, the upstairs is recommended. Otherwise, request the main dining room.

My wife and I went to McCormick & Schmick's after a show on our wedding anniversary. We had a 6:00 reservation but we showed up 25 minutes early. It was no problem or fuss and they seated us right away. I had indicated on the Open Table reservation that it was our anniversary, and they printed up special menus for us that wished us a happy anniversary. They even rolled up the menus with a ribbon after we ordered so we could take them home - nice touch! Our server was awesome (friendly, sincere and attentive). The special dessert they made for us was perfect! It's really hard to try someplace new in downtown Philly when McCormick & Schmick's is so good!

We live in the area and for some reason opted to go to an overpriced chain seafood place instead of one of the many local delicious options. Shame on us; we paid for it literally and figuratively. We sat at a bar high top and our server was extremely busy. We saw her deliver food to all of her tables which led us to believe there were no food runners. After our super long wait for our food you could tell it was sitting under the light at the line. Plate was super hot and the sub par food was warm. Overall I guess we got what is to be expected at a chain restaurant that caters to suburbanites and tourist. Wine is super over priced.

My wife and I came here for an afternoon lunch. We had a seafood soup that was delicious. She ordered King Salmon and I Halibut from the fresh seafood menu. hers was broiled and mine was pan seared as recommended for both by our waiter. The salmon was good, not outstanding but good. The halibut was way too salty. I should have sent it back. Lesson learned. The wiater was not as attentive as I expected for M&S's. Long waits between courses. No checking to see how things were. twice we had to ask someone else to summon our waiter. Coffee came a long time before the desert. The deserts were really good! She had peach cobler and I the apple pie. I was lloking for a fine dining experience and I had just a good dining experience.

We enjoyed our dinner and I believe we were all happy with the quality of our food. Service was just ok. I would have preferred our server to check on us more frequently. For the price of the meal the server could have been more attentive, however it didn't ruin our meal at all and we tipped him well.

I'd dined at McCormick & Schmick's in the past, but it had been several years since last Saturday, that I'd been there. I ordered the crab cakes and was a little surprised that they were served with french fries. For those prices, I expect at least mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Of course I had to pay an additional $6 for the mashed. Also, a few ppl at the table complained that their food wasn't hot when it came out to the table.

We wanted to go to M&S's for a while, and restaurant week seemed like the perfect time. We were sat right away despite being 30 minutes early. We received 1 restaurant week menu but 2 regular menus. It felt like a nudge to order from the regular menu. We ordered the salad, steak, mousse cake, and creme brulee from the RW menu. The steak lacked in quantity but had good flavor. It was missing a starch like potatoes. The salad was great, and we felt the steak should've been served on top of it. The cake was good, but the Hershey syrup on top instead of melted chocolate detracted from it. The creme brulee lacked flavor. We started the dinner with much anticipation, but the meal left us underwhelmed and without a desire for a return visit.

I had high expectations because they are a higher end restaurant. I had my heart set on surf and turf. What they brought out as surf and turf was disgraceful. The lobster tail was overcooked and I only got about 4 bits of lobster. The beef was fine but the portion was meager and there was no bordelaise sauce on it like it says on the menu. They do not serve any bread prior to your meal. The waiter ask if we wanted soup or salad with our meal implying it came with the meal. It does not and it is quite pricey? My son ordered the small filet mignon. Just a piece of meat with 4 pieces of asparagus. Really? What restaurants don't serve any sides with their meals? Very very disappointed. And it was my birthday! Executive chef should be ashamed!
