Not quite the same . . . . The food was wonderful as always however, the customer service and the quality of the staff was not. I'm not sure if the restaurant is under new management but we were very disappointed in the level of customer service. I hope it was just a fluke but given that we had issues with our reservation and with the wait staff, I'm not so sure. It may be awhile before we return which is disappointing since this used to be a favorite.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had! Service was horrible by both our waiter and the male manager who did nothing but walk in circles. There were complaints from many tables around us as well. Two of the tables actually left without dining. There are not enough characters available in this review section to list all that was wrong with the evening.

We used to frequent M/S on a monthly basis and had a Club card which we would use the points for special occasions. Around two years ago, we noticed that the prices started to go up . It is not the value it used to be. I'm not saying it's bad, but for the prices they charge , you would expect something to make you want to come back to. Both of us are "wine" drinkers and I can't help to mention the Price for S/M Pinot Gris from Italy @$74.00 a bottle is "insanely" overpriced. The service is still good and the servers are friendly, but we won't go out of our way to go back there, except the "Happy Hour" during warmer weather days. Friday Night / Oakbrook area/ 7:00 pm and half the restaurant is empty, should tell you something. If you want to survive, you'll have to scale back your prices or go down . DR

I reserved a large group for lunch. When we arrived, the restaurant was not very busy. Over the course of our stay, it seemed that the waiter had no sense of urgency. Whereas, I can appreciate affording the diner to a memorable dining experience, a week-day during a lunch hour is not the time to doddle. Our planned two hour lunch lasted more than three hours. I will likely visit again for a dinner attempt with my husband, but I will not schedule a work lunch here again.

First time diner - great entire dining experience. My husband and I enjoyed a special veteran's deal - his meal was free as he is a vet, and he was thanked SEVERAL times during our dinner for his service. Our waitress's suggestions were excellent - the stuffed salmon, beef, and wine choice, as well. The decor of the restaurant is one of my favorite - the wood of the Prairie-style architecture was warm and inviting. There was NO noise level, so conversation was possible. I'll be back.

My wife and I went to M & S last Sunday only because they were offering a free dinner for veterans which I thought was very thoughtful and generous. We may be considered food snobs by some and we do eat out often at all types of restaurants. I had the fried buttermilk shrimp and fries. The shrimp were a bit soggy with out much flavor and the fries were also very limp and not a crisp fresh one in the bunch. Although, the dinner was free, I would expect the items to be cooked correctly. Would not return.

Everything was just okay, from having to remind the hostess that we were waiting in the bar for our table, to the food to the service. Ordered the medallions and salmon - small portions and mediocre taste. Blue crab soup was luke warm (sent back). Won't be returning here-even tho they talked us into their $25 rewards card. I guess we'll use it at Morton's.

My beef came without mushrooms and had an unpleasant old meat odor. I complained about this and received after a long wait how it should have looked. Paying for my food--not a vet. Waiter said they had new cooks. Then he over-charged us--double what we eventually paid. It was not a good experience. Our guests were not impressed.

I chose this restaurant for the 1000 dining points and based on reviews indicating 'a nice place to celebrate a special occasion'. I had requested on my open table reservation a great booth/nice location for this important celebration. We did get a booth, in the middle of the restaurant, next to a very noisy table. I noticed a booth along the outer edge of the restaurant which seemed quieter and nicer, but was hoping the hostess thought this was better. It wasn't. And not very romantic. We DID get menus with 'Happy 25th Anniversary', congratulations from our waiter and a delicious complementary dessert. Overall, we were very pleased. But this is a very pricey restaurant, so not one we can return to with any regularity.

We had appetizer /dinner/dessert. Everything was rush rush. Felt like we were in an express line. Resturant was not crowded for a Saturday night, so it's not like they needed our table. Had lobster with 3 small pieces of steak. Very bland and not tasty . Small potatoes accompanied dish, over cooked and crunchy. Server was fine. Appetizer was good (small), dessert was ok. Good drinks. Clean facility. Nice hostess. Overall....we have had better for this caliber of resturant . Nothing to say "hey lets go back".

The food was great. I've been here before for their happy hour special (1/2 price appetizers!) but this was the first time I came here for dinner. Well worth it! The gruyere potatoes were AMAZING. The veggies were outstanding. The crab cake was delish. And our meal was big enough for us to split.

We chose to eat here on Halloween and maybe that's why it was empty (8 tables full at most), so that was weird. We had the Shrimp Kisses and Firecracker Shrimp appetizers and both were great! I had the Blue Marlin special which was very good and my husband had the filet mignon which was aweful, a horrible cut of meat they claimed was center-cut. Our server was good.

We've been to M&S any number of times and this was the first bad experience. The problem was the food. The seasonal blue crab and corn chowder was tasty, but cold. The main course that I ordered was pan seared wahoo/ono with mushroom risotto, tomato confit and fresh herbs. The fish might have been wahoo/one, but there was no mushroom risotto or tomato confit. Instead there were ordinary mashed potatoes (also cold) and mixed vegetables featuring the ubiquitous zucchini. There might have been fresh herbs somewhere in the vegetables. I mentioned the absence of mushroom risotto to our waitress who said that she had noticed this too and asked the "chef" who said that he had decided on mashed potatoes instead that evening. Disappointing.

I am a Landry's Select Club member and a weekly regular for M&S, regardless of the city I am traveling in. It's one of my favorite places. However, this weekend the food was only so so. I was slightly disappointed because I brought 7 friends for my Birthday. There were a few complaints from the group on the prep of their entrees. Personally, my food was cold. This was abnormal. I am typically very satisfied. Perhaps we can make up for it in the future.

My wife, daughter and I decided at the last minute to dine out Friday night. Our first choice was McCormick and Schmick's. There was absolutely no problem getting a table. After an awesome drink at the bar (Perseco and sangria...delicious), we were seated. Our server was excellent; very friendly and competent. Her friendly face late on a Friday night was welcomed. All of our meals were perfectly prepared. Our daughter is a certified chef with a 4 year degree in culinary management. Needless to say, she is very particular about the food she consumes. In her words, "My meal was absolutely delicious!" We cannot wait to return.

Party of 6 for birthday. Bottle of zinfandel ($38) & was only "ok" to the 3 drinking it. Appetizers (calamari & shrimp kisses) were ok tho very skimpy portions for price ($13 & $14). Good walnut mixed green salad. One diner wanted bone in ribeye & "not available" Sunday night. 3 of us had "Dinner special" & sides were way sub-par: barely warm & gummy/gluten mashed potatoes; unremarkable, oddly flavored small "shrimp scampi", mixed veggies heavy on zucchini. Roasted cauliflower bland. Dessert of molten lava chocolate cake was unremarkable & NOT a molten lava chocolate cake like any we've ever had before-solid chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream? Second time dining here & we will not return. For same $ we can find way better elsewhere.

My husband and I have been trying to get here for dinner to use a gift card he was given last Christmas. We finally made it this past weekend and I have to say, it was worth the wait. My husband had the lobster bisque which was beautifully presented, had plenty of lobster was creamy and delicious - don't be shy about the price, if you like lobster bisque, you need to try it here. I had the shrimp trilogy and all kinds were very good, the rice needed more seasoning but with all of the other flavors from the shrimp it didn't end up being that bad. My husband had the bone-in ribeye, he said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had! It was perfectly cooked and the quality of the meat was commendable, again - it's worth the price!

We've been to M&S for drinks and appetizers but this was our first "dinner". Happy to report that we were not disappointed. The Chef's Dinner offered us a good choice of soup, entree' and dessert. Started with their clam chowder which was flavorful and rich without being excessive. Followed with the Tender Beef Medallions & Scampi Style Shrimp and Salmon over Pasta for our mains. Plated beautifully and more than enough of a meal (but not so much as to require a doggy-bag). Desserts were more than enough to share and getting two (Crème Brûlée and Molten Chocolate Cake) made it easy to switch half-way through. Service was attentive with a good cadence. We'll definitely be back.

Food was delicious - salad with kale, beets and carrots was creative and refreshing. Enjoyed the parmesan encrusted flounder (could have used a little less breading though). Side of green beans was great too. The recommended wine on the menu was a great choice. It was nice to get a sample, and the wine was terrific! The server seemed new and could have been more knowledgeable but was pleasant and gave a great dessert recommendation. Really good experience overall for our anniversary.
