McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Oak BrookIt had been a little whileIt had been a little while since we were there, the menu has changed and it seems there are fewer choices. They will substitute,i.e, potatoes instead of mushroom orzo, etc., but it just seemed more limited. The bread, although a good flavor, did not have the crispy crust and the first plate was not warm as before. Just didn't seem like the sourdough we were used to. No longer offer two size choices for wine by the glass which we preferred. Every one at the table with me were still ranting and raving about the food the day after and were saying they were going to suggest it to others. The staff was friendly but the wait staff a little slow. We waited a while for each course. Probably because it was a busy Mother's Day!! Overall I would like to try it again maybe when it's not a special occasion! After we ordered, the server came back to say that not only was the fish I ordered not available, there were three other menu items not available. It was only 5:30 p.m. They offered a free Chocolate Truffle for mothers - also not available, so I got a substitute, which I didn't like. My kids ordered dessert. The server came back to say that one wasn't available. I felt sorry for the server, who said that she wasn't told in advance that these items were not available. She didn't find out until the order went in. It took the kitchen 10 minutes to let her know that the dessert wasn't available. The location was easy to find in the midst of other good restaurants. The food was GREAT and I would return with no doubt. I was too pricey. However, the staff needs a refresher on how to treat diners. We were not asked by the host/hostess how our dinner was. In fact, the host walked by our table numerous times staring at the table saying nothing. I can only assume that he was waiting for us to depart prior to the 6:00 p.m. crowd coming in. We found this offensive. I am wondering if he would have inquired if there was a male that accompanied us? I certainly hope not. Plus, when leaving the restaurant, nothing was said such as a "Thank You" or anything. A little shocking.
