I thought that the menu was not as extensive as Phila; however, the service at NY was far superior than Phila. The food was delicious. Our waitress was fantastic. The host was fantastic. Can't say enough about the food and the service. Just would have liked to see more on the menu. Yes, I will definitely return, despite this."

It was nice and quiet for a Saturday Night at 9pm....Chilled at the bar (which have a nice choice of mixed specialty drinks) from about 8:15 to just around my 9Pm reservation. I recommend the Perfect patron Margarita... nice and strong yet great tasting and for $12 it's not bad since that's the norm for most bars in the city. Our waitress was excellent. Wifey and I had the Lobster Bisque soup (amazing) as an appetizer which came by pretty fast. Food came out fast...the place has nice lighting with light music in the background. This place is great for a group of friends/family or just a nice romantic thing as a couple. I highly recommend it if you want great food and great service. Prices aren't too crazy either. $$-$$$"

  • "I was disappointed with my first time experience at this restaurant. First of all, it took almost 15 minutes for our waiter to come to our table and greet us. My boyfriend ordered the crab cakes and had to send them back due to the lack of crab in them. I ordered ribs and was highly disappointed with them. I was served two small pieces of rib and it had more bone and fat than meat. I thought there would be more food on the plate considering the prices we paid. The hostess was very friendly and the appetizers were delicious. Unfortunately, I left there still hungry and disappointed. I don't think we will go back to this restaurant or recommend it to any of our friends."

  • "I was surprised to see that for an 8pm reservation on a Tuesday in New York , the place was 3/4 empty. Very bad for ambiance and atmosphere. Other restaurants of the same chain in other cities are much better. The decor was also outdated. Even though the place was almost empty we were seated by the kitchen, which was noisy and had a strong food smell. I had a sushi-like tuna and it actually gave me a really bad stomach ache later-- I presume that the raw fish was not good quality. The service was good but kind our server was kind of cheesy. I will not be going again."

  • "This is our second time to this restaurant. We decided to come back here because we wanted a low key atmosphere but also good quality food. We got both. My husband had the swordfish steak, which he loved, and I had the lemon chicken with capers over linguini which was great. Our server Jack was very attentive and well informed about the menu. We'll definitely come back again."

  • "Wife and I enjoyed the seafood selection and tried some new dishes. All tasted delicious and the service was perfect. The restaurant was out of our first wine selection, but the recommended replacement was good. Dessert was the bananas foster tower. That was really good."

  • "Our table was close to the front door area and so was a bit drafty but sensibly the booth a had a velvet curtain that we used to block the cold air. Took long for bread to come - not sure we understood the reason fully but waiter tried to explain. Food came quickly and so great for my kids. Son's steak was slightly over-done past his request but he was so hungry we didn't have time to fuss. All-in-all generally reliable for the chain's food and service quality."

All our dishes were as expected, fresh and delicious. And the chocolate bag dessert is a must - one serving enough for several people. Prices normal for a mid-town restaurant."

  • "I was in town for the NYC Half Marathon and was looking for a seafood restaurant near my hotel. I went on Open Table and stumbled upon this place. I was a little worried that a "chain" restaurant might not be up to task but then I figured there must be a reason there are sister restaurants across the country. We were greeted promptly and seated right on time. Our waiter was perfect never making us feel rushed. Our meal consisted of the Lump Crab Tower appetizer and the main courses consisted of a Blacked Mahi Mahi (special) and the Shellfish Bouillabaisse and For desert we split the chocolate espresso cake. Everything was delicious and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a great moderately priced seafood meal."

Beef on the surf and turf was still mooing (inedible for our tastes) and there was no comment or follow up when this was brought to our young servers attention. Desserts were delish. Service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive. The place was nice, although the seat in the booth I got needs to be replaced. I'm disappointed with the entree as this is a seafood and steak restaurant. Maybe because it was for restaurant week?"

  • "Thought we would go for an early bite after the afternoon at the theater. We didn't want a big meal so we did the bar menu and some salads. The price if great as happy hour is from 5-7. The drinks were very reasonable but the bar menu left a lot to be desired. The Calamari was really terrible, the hamburger was adequate and the shrimp cocktail very average. The service was the best part of he experience as our waitress was very attentive. The bar scene was great and packed."

  • "Feb. 14, 2014 was the first time that I've visited McCormick & Schmick's Seafood. I made reservations knowing that it might be busy. But was one of the few places that actually had seats. I walked in earlier than I had the reservation for and thought that I would have to wait to be seated; but that was not the case. I was seated immediately and was given customized menus. I enjoyed the ambience and the mood of the restaurant. I enjoyed the food and wine selection. The staff was very pleasant and attended all of my needs. It was a great experience. I would definately recommend the place to others."
