The manager was willing to do something for me regarding the beef, but he did not say what he would do to correct the situation. He brought over the roses my husband dropped off earlier, but the heat in the restaurant obviously impacted them. The server was apologetic about the appetizer and very pleasant otherwise. The atmosphere is casual and is helped by the music in the background. We still got nice water views while dining even though we weren't sitting right next to the windows which was a plus. I highly recommend going during off-peak times in order to avoid waiting and to get good service.
Overall the food was tasty though not exceptional. Thankfully nothing was over-salted like cheaper seafood restaurants. The fish and chips were good. The lump crab tower was an interesting appetizer - a 3"x 3" cylinder of crab meat on top of diced mango on top of avocado. Making reservations online was easy and I got a confirmation #, if I needed it. But I didn't need it, because seating went smoothly. The staff accommodated our party (one of us uses a walker) with a table that wasn't too far from the front door, but was still intimate enough that we all could talk and hear each other. Yes, since we were by the front there was a constant parade of people past our table, but as it was a booth, it wasn't disruptive; besides, at a nice restaurant like that, you can expect a lot of people coming and going. It was a truly pleasurable experience. It took a little long to get seated, but once situated service was seamless. The food took a very long time to come out. Most everyone around us was waiting for food. We're thinking the chef/kitchen got a late start for Mothers Day brunch. However, restaurant, surprisingly, wasn't crowded before noon. Regardless, the food and the bloody mary's were extremely good!
Our waitress was very nice, but not over informative. Being from Louisiana, especially New Orleans, where we are known for our fabulous Cajun and Creole seafood dishes I was curious to see what McCormick and Schmick's had to offer and wondered would it compare to the restaurants at home. I must say, it was great from the location on the river, the proximity to shoppimg at harbor, the food, and our waitress. You have to try the Shrimp Kissers. Little known fact, this restaurant is "kin" for lack of a better word to one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans called Landry's Seafood. A little misstep in the drink order but we were busy talking anyway. Our table was right in the window with a pier/water view - perfect! The food was wonderful and the service was just right. Food was very good. Everyone enjoyed the apps and entrees. I especially liked the bacon wrapped shrimp which was made more special than the run of the mill bacon wrapped shrimp by including pepper jack cheese wrapped with the bacon. The cheese helped the appetizer not to be too dry.
Waiter Brad was super good and very accommodating.

This was a great highlight for the business and I hate to see that they no longer do this! I thought it was a great marking tool of persuasion. Even when I knew that I couldn't eat another bite.. but when that tray went around the room it made me change my mind about ordering dessert to take home. I believe seeing is believing even convincing when it comes to food. Having new items on the dessert menu with a visible tray would tempt a persons apatite to say, Yes... I would like to have some of that! HOWEVER< this Sunday there was an obvious change in the friendliness of the staff.
There were three in our party, and we all enjoyed our whole meal. The clam chowder was rife with flavor, AND CLAMS, my salmon in truffle sauce was delicious, and the tillapia was enjoyed by others. The desserts, purportedly made in house, were all delicious.
The staff was hurried, so water glasses were not refilled, we had to ask for bread, and our check twice, but the server was professional and apologetic for the fact she was obviously over booked.
