Overall a great value5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue Pleasure of the PalateThis was my first time visiting McCormick and Schmitts and i went on a date. It was a truly pleasurable experience. It took a little long to get seated, but once situated service was seamless. Food choices were excellent and the waiter was attentive, polite, and accommodating. Went there for brunch -- they should have a dedicated beverage filler to keep drinks refreshed, especially if waitress is too busy to do this on her own. We dined at the National Harbor and, of course, the view was outstanding, the waiter was just great; the food was simply delicious. The atmosphere was "energetic" and very nice for families, my grandson really enjoyed himself. Filet mignon was perfect, and the mushroom side was the tastiest mushrooms I ever had. Wife had a cinnamon apple martini that was out of this world. My only caveat is that this place is really loud. The night we were there, there was band playing on the outside patio area. It was really loud even indoors. Still, I would definitely go back. Nice water view, good activity and people watching.
Food was very good. Everyone enjoyed the apps and entrees. I especially liked the bacon wrapped shrimp which was made more special than the run of the mill bacon wrapped shrimp by including pepper jack cheese wrapped with the bacon. The cheese helped the appetizer not to be too dry.
Waiter Brad was super good and very accommodating.

The check reflected 2 desserts (apple upside down cake at 9.95 each)that my party of seven did not order. I did not notice the mistake until I reviewed the check later that afternoon. So we had a choice to admire the beautiful view from inside or wait 45 minutes for outside dining.
