Only complaint I have is our drinks and bread took a while to come to table. This was our spot for lunch. Steve, our waiter, was wonderful and has been with M & S for 13 years. It's a small world because we had been in some of the other locations that he had worked in.
The food portions, preparation, and speed of delivery were spot on. The corvina special took me back to my time in Panama during the turnover back in late '99. The fish was just divine. The wife's shrimp were perfect. When the dessert bag came out -- that was all she wrote!! Massive dessert with a lovely blend of flavors and textures...
I've eaten here when it is busy and loud -- that environment is not to my liking. The waitress seemed a bit inexperienced; however, the service was prompt, courteous, and helpful. The drinks and food were served almost too quickly with litte time to enjoy the atmosphere and pre-dinner conversation. Food quality and taste were consistent with past experience which has been excellent. This is a favorite location for us and one we visit frequently A nice touch would have been something special for a birthday which the restaurant knew about ahead of time and at our arrival. Many locations provide a birthday desert or treat. The key lime pie was so tart it was almost inedible. The piece was more than generous with whipped cream and a raspberry sauce. The sweetened whipped cream did not help the tartness of the pie. I had ordered the warm apple pie before and loved it. This time, I was very disappointed. It did not taste fresh. The crust tasted burnt. There were large "chunks" of brown sugar that were hard to bit and did not enhance the taste of the pie. In the past, the desserts have been very good. With the outstanding service, great appetizers and delicious main course, having the end of our meal be of poor quality was a disappointment and a "downer" for the evening. The only complaint I have about the restaurant. They really like to push add-ons to your order. To the point where its a bit annoying. The food is very good. I had the cashew crusted tilapia and my wife had the scallops, both dishes looked and tasted great. My wife totally enjoyed hers. I'm not a big fan of fresh green beans and I didn't see then on the menu with my dish otherwise I would have ordered a different item instead. But I might have just overlooked them. All and all the food is great. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff are very nice. Just be ready for them to try to push you to a lot of add-ons. I loved every little thing about this beautiful place! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We ordered quite a bit of food just for the 2 of us and we killed it all (minus the chocolate bag dessert which we had to take home). Seriously, we ordered clam chowder, a dozen oysters, spring rolls, king crab, stuffed salmon, AND the chocolate bag.. ALL DELICIOUS!! I will make it a point to come back. We were given a private booth with curtains which made it fun and private. We felt like VIPs. Our waiter was very friendly and added to our lively banter. Some of us enjoyed the filet mignon which was tender and juicy. Others chose seafood. All of the food was hot and tasty, including the crisp vegetables. For dessert, we ordered one chocolate bag to share. Our waiter and the restaurant were generous in giving us a second, free one - with a birthday candle! I was the only one in the group who had indulged in one before. When we didn't have our mouths full of fruit and chocolate, we were raving about how delicious they were. We devoured both of them.
