I got the steak and shrimp, wife got shrimp trio. I ordered my steak medium/medium-rare. Came out very rare. Like still refrigerator temperature in the center (this wasn't a big deal) however the tuffness of the meat was unexpected for the cut. I let the waitress know (who took about 15 minutes to notice us seated and still didn't get our drink order correct) she made no offer to correct it. She did not check on us very often. She made it known that they had fired some cooks and thing were a bit crazy. Hint: NEVER tell a guest this! They wow'd us at devour downtown last year. We came back expecting that same excellence and was greatly disappointed. As a Landry's card member, this is one of few locations I won't go back to.

We chose this for our 30th Anniversary. We had seen from prior reviews that the service is somewhat slow. That proved to be the case - it took awhile to get our drinks and then a while longer to get bread. And them bam - the food came rather quickly. Like a moment or two after the bread. We weren't in a hurry so that was ok. It's a little noisy but not overwhelming. The ambiance was reasonably nice as it's a downtown spot one block from Monument Circle. My wife had the Shrimp Trilogy ($26.99) and I had the Salmon Pasta ($15.99) and we shared the creamed spinach ($7.99). The food was good and portions generous. The Spinach was plenty to split. I had a Grey Goose Martini ($13.00) that was average.

  • Just not a good night

We have dined here previously and had great experiences. Sunday night was not one of those. Our order was served miserably late - only after we had requested to speak with the manager. Then our order came out promptly - but the steak was not cooked the way it had been ordered. My guess was that we got someone else's order who had not complained about the wait. This was unfortunate and uncharacteristic of our usual dining experience at M & S. Manager credited my steak and gave us a complimentary glass of wine, but it still left a bad taste in our mouths.

This was our third time eating here. Just like before, we had a wonderful time! The service was great and the food was awesome. Our only complaint would be the menu didn't have Mako shark again. But, we understand the menus change a lot. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We both think the place is special!

We came in to try the Steak & Lobster special. The steak was a little salty and a couple of bites has a slight char-taste. Otherwise, it was wonderful. The lobster was great. Duane was excellent. The upside down apple pie was very delicious.

  • Devour Downtown Experience

Made reservations through open table for Devour Downtown August 2014 Indianapolis. Restaurant was clean, well-kept. After perusal of menu, decided to order from regular menu rather than special menu. Waiter was excellent. I liked that drinks were made from scratch--no premade mixes. The waiter described the lobster mashed potatoes and we ordered them. Another server delivered them to the table and we found them unremarkable. However, when the waiter saw them he knew something was terribly wrong. He whisked them away and quickly brought the right dish. They were wonderful. !! The manager stopped by and apologized for the mix up and took them off the bill. Good, efficient service. Fresh fish!!

I've eaten here before and had great food and service. This time I was disappointed. My tuna was over-cooked and my spouse's $40 "steak" turned out to be 4 quarter-sized well-done tenderloin slivers even though she had ordered medium rare. Certainly not what was depicted in the image they advertised. The rest of the Devour Downtown meal was quite good, and the gazpacho with crab was excellent.

As always, the filet was amazing and the service was outstanding! It is always great to see the general managers out working the tables delivering food, collecting dishes, or conversing with guests! This really shows how concerned they are with giving their guests the best dining experience possible!

I was so disappointed. We had poor service, waiting a very long time for the (expensive!) food. Both our waiter and the mgr stopped by to tell us it was on its way, apologizing for the wait. The mgr explained the chef "didn't like how the plates looked" so was remaking our food. What?? Then it arrived, looking entirely unimpressive. O'Charleys or Red Lobster could've done a better job. Bland, pale, unseasoned food. Just completely underwhelming. For the price, go somewhere local.

Three of our meals were fine. I asked for my fish to be broiled and it came out baked. I mentioned it to the waitress right away and she flippantly said it was broiled and walked away. I am an excellent cook myself and it obviously was not broiled and tasted very bland. Twice we tried to ask her for something and didn't have enough time to answer and she 'zip, zip'. The restaurant was not busy because our reservation was for 5:30pm to give ourselves enough time for our event at 7:30pm.

We dined here for our 33rd Anniversary and it was remarkable. The service was great, the food was delightful, and the personal care by the management and staff was phenominal. My wife and I lived in New Orleans for a number of years and it has been the touchstone against which all our dining experiences have been measured. While the food wasn't quite up to the "lick-your-plate" we occasionally experienced in N.O., it did not take a back seat either. The service was phenominal thanks to the polite and attentive but unobtrusive staff Thank You

I hadn't been to the restaurant for over a year and was highly disappointed. Not the usual restaurant. The food was a very light portion for even a light eater and very average taste and presentation. The prices however managed to increase. I would have had a much better meal for 80% less cost at O'Charley's. That was my last visit.

My wife and I often celebrate here for anniversaries or Valentine's Day. The menu wasn't very impressive this time around. And the waiter was nice, but seem like she was ready to get off. Late with drinks and food took forever, even though it was less than 10 people in the restaurant. Twice now we have been dissatisfied. Appetizer was good, love the ambiance and location. Plan to give them a rest the next time around, and try back later down the line.

The staff was attentive and quite friendly. The food was very good. The appetizer was a disappointment. I asked the waiter if it was satisfactory for all four of us to share. He said yes, but when it came, we each got just one bite. Loved the clam chowder. It was very thick and rich. Our entries I would rank as good.
