The food is fine, the drinks are fine, the service is fine. It's a little pricey for somewhere that's just fine. Yet, when in a pinch, it does the job. Don't rush out to eat here, but if you're out and need a place you can tell all your friends is just fine, this is that place."

  • "We planned a family dinner (adults only) to celebrate dad's birthday. We were seated within moments of our groups arrival. It was a Friday evening, it wasn't crowded and was pretty quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. The timing of our food service worked out well for us because we were not in a hurry. My dad, husband and brother had time to visit the bar and have a drink between courses being served. We ordered appetizers, oysters, entrees and dessert. Although the food is tasty the sides are small, so order extra side to share. Our server made a few nice recommendations. The Executive Chef visited our table to wish our dad Happy Birthday and he sent out a dessert for him. My dad really enjoyed his birthday dinner!"

The appetizers and main dishes we selected were all well prepared and delicious! The side dish I had with my cashew covered tilapia was sweet potato couscous and it was excellent! Good wine and beer selection, although they were out of my first beer choice."

  • "I really enjoyed my meal at McCormick & Schmik's. Their New England style clam chowder was the best I have ever had in Indiana and may be close to the best I ever had. Nicely spiced and tasty. Also had their seasonal pancetta wrapped steelhead. I am a big fan of trout and this was an excellent meal. The trout was served on top of a white wine sauce with a few cut in half miniature tomatoes placed on top. Great Meal!"

  • "We arrived at 8:30 pm&seated promptly.The hostess offered to hang our coats,very nice.Our waiter was very attentive &made suggestions on the appetizer, shrimp kisses. It seemed like they would have been good at some point.When they arrived at our table they were over cooked,the shrimp,chewy&the bacon too hard.We had cocktails with our appetizer. Those were great.After ordering our entrees, the waiter came back&told us they were out of ribeye.I reordered beef medallions&crab legs.The beef medallions&crab legs were $3 or $4 more,no compensation was offered or made.The beef was delicious.The crab legs &potatoes extremely over cooked.Also ordered grilled mahi mahi which was very good.Signature Bloody Mary~YUCK!All I could taste was the alcohol."

  • "We've been to the Indy McCormick & Schmick's many times. The seafood is fresh and the prices are more reasonable that some other higher-end alternatives. The menu includes a number of popular dishes that have stayed on the menu for a while but you can also have the fish simply grilled. We have found the service to be variable - some nights it is very good and on other nights it can be slow and inattentive. On a Saturday night, the place is packed and that may account for the slower service and somewhat energetic noise level."

  • "Three of us were having a girls night out with a big desire for seafood and drinks. Our waiter was incredibly friendly outgoing and entertaining. He helped us pick our drinks, select the best food, and kept us laughing the whole time. Oh and the dessert... We split a chocolate bag. Strange name, but the best dessert I think I have ever had...! I am sad now because I don't live anywhere near there. I will make my way there again soon as soon as I can."

My salmon prepared tableside was tasty but was to have a pepper sauce (and be spicy) and it tasted like teriyaki. My husband ordered cajun chicken pasta and he said it didn't have much flavor at all."

  • "My wife ordered the talopia and it was good. I ordered the Atlantic salmon and it was very dry and it was not very tasteful. I also ordered the lobster mashed potatoes and they were very bland. It was simply mashed potatoes [that were luke warm at best] that had a lobster type gravy poured over them. In addition, my server did not inform me that I would get regular mashed potatoes with my salmon order. If I knew that, I would not have ordered the lobster mashed potatoes. I think that it is the responsibility of the server to inform us about our order and what we can expect. Overall, I was very disappointed with my meal and with the service. Probably the last time I go to this restaurant."

  • "I think the restaurant is nice - food is above average and the service is crisp. My problem is the price. Dinner is easily over $50 with one cocktail and no wine. And the booths are a bit uncomfortable. Good for business meals, but I would look elsewhere (Palomino, R Bistro, Mesh, Black Market, Bluebeard, etc.) for better and more creative dishes at a lower price point."

  • "Passed this restaurant the night before and decided to make reservations. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The waiter was very informative and knew the menu. I ordered a really tasteful cocktail called a raspberry mule. It was very smooth and not too strong or weak. I really enjoyed it. We ordered a shrimp appetizer that initially came to us cold (it was suppose to be hot). Sent it back and the chef got it together quickly. It was very good hot! My date ordered the bourbon salmon with asparagus and spinach. Very moist and tasty. I ordered the chefs special stuff salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. This to was very moist and good. Overall we were very pleased with our dining experience."

Although I wish they offered a little more than seafood and a couple of beef dishes I understand if that is the theme. However with Oceanaire so close by they need to offer something a little different . Maybe a couple of upscale chicken dishes or pork? Dont' recall seeing anything like that."

The waitress and trainee were attentive and had perfect personalities for our group. Service and food were prepared just right. They also phoned cabs for us."
