It was not busy and we sat at the table for about 10 min. before anyone tried to help us. Food was not cooked as we asked. Trying to get someone to help was bad. People would walk by and not look at you. It had to be the waiter when he finally came by.

It's still halibut season and I love it so my husband suggested we go. We had friends that wanted to hang out with us and they also like fish so we asked them to join us. My halibut was perfect. The others had trout which they also said was really good. Service was a tad slow even though they did not seem busy, but polite and freindly. The decor is a bit too business now to be "romantic". One of the nicer things is they are willing to make substitutions. I don't have a problem at all paying a couple bucks to trade out mashed potatoes for broccolini. They'll trade out preparations too if they can if you ask and it's possible

Being a Landry's Select member was the main reason for coming here. They offered double points every Sunday for the month of September. Who wouldn't want a free meal after buying a couple.

Our waiter was great and we have loved eating there in the past. I had the snapper with lump crab, which was very fresh, but the way it was prepared had no flavor. I was very disappointed in the meal, especially given the prices. I would be hesitant to return or recommend.

My wife recently had dinnere here, and it was fair-some items great others average. The good-chopped salad, excellent lobster bisque, grilled redfish. The fair- parmesan crusted flounder, served as three small triangular pieces, with very little sauce. Reminiscent of fishsticks from a box. Pecan pie must've been old as the crust was nearly impossible to cut, decent flavor. I've had better experiences here at lunch.

We went to this location because we live across the street. Food quality was mediocre at best. Ambiance is old fashioned and dingy. Everything seemed "dirty". It wasn't a classy experience as one would get at Etoile, Table, Masraff's etc.

A colleague of mine and I hosted 2 clients for a business lunch. I made a reservation online and requested a quieter area for our meeting. The hostess, Charlene, was so gracious and took us to a private booth for our business lunch. It was perfect! Not too secluded but just the right amount of privacy for our purpose. The service was excellent from the waitstaff, as well, and the food was delicious! This was my first time to eat here and will definitely return!

We ordered off the restuarant month menu. But bought a Crabcake off the main menu and it was not worth the money. The bread crust was hard and had large holes in the middle. The steak meddalions were too thin. And we thought the dress code would be a little better for a pricey restaurant.

First time at this restaurant since Landry's took over. The food is still very good, nice wine list and priced accordingly.. It was a birthday celebration and they still put the name at the top of the menu's. The wine and food menu is not as extensive but the quality remains high as does the service.

    HighExpectations
    Dined on 8/8/2014
My spouse and I were expecting an upscale dining exp and were both disappointed. Admitted, this was during restaurant week and our expectations were a little high. The restaurant lacks elegance starting from the host to the server. They were both friendly and the server seemed engaged with his work but he will only do what the mgmt expects from him. You would not expect a server to bring food for multiple tables at the same time in this type of restaurant without a tray. so when you see the soup stain on the side of the bowl, u cannot entirely blame him. when they charge you $30+ for an entree then I do not expect menus handed out on a sheet of paper a proper menu is required. The positives: The food was really good.

We went during restaurant week so we got to sample from the starters, main, and desserts. The crab and corn chowder was excellent, as was the watermelon salad. The crabstuffed shrimp may have been our favorite at the table, but the steak medallions were also very nicely done. To top it all off, I had the molten chocolate cake that has strawberries on it - the freshness of all of their produce may have been the best part of the meal. The watermelon in the salad was also perfectly sweet. Overall it was a great experience - good drinks (wine and a strawberry basil drink), good seating (we had spacious booth - probably helps to make a reservation), a pleasant and helpful server, and nicely timed arrival of the different courses.

We eat at Landry's restaurants frequently, but this was our first time to McCormick & Schmick's. We went for Houston Restaurant Weeks to benefit the Houston Food Bank. The food was good, but not fantastic. I am told that is unusual, so we will give it another try. The service was not great as they pulled our waiter from the main dining room and put him back with a banquet, not entirely his fault, but somebody else should have been assigned to our table. Steak very over-cooked first time around, but the chef quickly took care of that problem which was much appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's because we wanted the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu that made the waitress think we weren't worthy of good service. We got there right after 11 because we only get around an hour for lunch. This lunch for only 3 people took 2 hours because the service was so slow.

I cannot say enough good things about McCormick & Schmick! My husband took me and our two kids there for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday and it was wonderful. We had a booth with a curtain, which my son thought was awesome, and the food was perfect. The chef and manager came to our table to wish me a happy birthday and to make sure we were having a great time and the food was to our satisfaction. Our waiter was the best, thanks Jack! I can't wait to go back again! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
