The food was excellent. We all had seafood and all enjoyed our dinners and appetizers. The wait staff was attentive and informative. It was our anniversary and other servers, hostess and manager all acknowledged our celebration. Good food and a wonderful place to have a special dinner.

I have been to this restaurant a few times before....have enjoyed it in the past. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon entree from their summer menu...very bland and little taste. I requested some type of sauce but it did not really do anything. The entree is not inexpensive and I am a fish person....there are many restaurants that feature tastier fish dishes. My companion ordered the steel fish and ravioli entree also from the summer menu...she enjoyed hers. In the past I have had the pistachio crusted tilapia which I feel is a better entree. Our server was attentive but the food leaves a lot to be desired for the prices they charge...sorry for the review but I am honest.

We have eaten and enjoyed the food and service at McCormick and Schmicks all over the country, which is why we picked theone in Hackensack to meet up with friends. The service was lovely but they were out of the wine and the food we wanted. We were told that the restaurant is closing at the end of the month and they were depleting their supplies. We were not happy about this because we were not told when we made the reservation that the wine and food list would be limited. The food tasted good. The decaf cappuccino was horrible. It was watery, even after they made it a second time.

The Oysters were very fresh. The clam chowder/salad was good. The summer special salad was very disappointing. There was a tiny portion of salad...(they couldn't throw some extra mixed greens on the dish for 10$+?) The dressing and the rest of the salad was ok. The main courses were pretty good, but i would've expected better for the 30$ price range. I would've expected this quality and portion size fro 20$. The Waiter pushed REALLY hard for us to join the membership program. He asked us at least 4 or 5 times after we already had told him we didn't want to join. Overall the food was good, but for the price i expected much better.

We were a party of 4 celebrating my mom's 90th birthday. Often, it is crowded and noisy, which makes it hard for my mother to hear, but on this particular night, it was quite empty. That meant we had great service, since there were so few other people. Drinks came quickly, water glasses were refilled. Bread basket was replenished. The food was good. Questions about the food were answered - I am always annoyed when the servers don't know the answers to OBVIOUS questions about the meal preparations. For example, what sides are included with the meal (I'm not asking obscure questions about the food's origin).

I wasn't dissatisfied, but there was nothing special about McCormick and Schmick's Seafood. I made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. There were very few patrons. The drinks were expensive, yet of average quality. The appetizer didn't seem overly fresh nor did the dinner or the side dish, but they tasted good. The wood trim at the at table was loose and the table shook of others bumped the wall. The server was attentive and timely however she failed to remove the two extra place settings that cluttered the table. The music was up tempo which was loud enough to irritate me. While its done to turn tables faster, I felt like I was eating in hurry. I will probably not return and will not recommend this restaurant. Not great.

Food was okay. Service was HORRIBLE. We got seated timely, our waitress brought water, took our drink orders-2 sodas and 2 bar drinks (which came 20 minutes later) While we were having appetizers, the wine & dewars & club soda came which the glass was 3/4 full. My husband asked the waitress about this, she said thats the way it is served so he sent it back. While we were 1/2 through our meal the manager brought out another drink, but it was really too later, we were almost done eating. The issues with dessert -2 out of 3 came out and coffees were served without saucers. third dessert came 10 minutes later because it was forgotten. Our waitress was slow, robotic, inattentive, strolled along instead of hustling when things were wrong. Terrible

I came in with a gluten sensitivity and they were very accomodating When I initially called the hostess did not sound on top of her game regarding gluten sensitivity so I was really glad when both my waiter and the actual manager took time to come speak to me and inquire about my choices. Customer service here was impeccable. I wanted a steak with a bone in it, but I dont even care because of the service!!!!!

We were there on a Tuesday eve. The place was almost empty. Our dinner took 45 min to come out, there were errors, and one dish was ice cold and had to be sent back to be warmed. Nobody seemed to notice until the food was almost served. They should have at least offered us a free dessert!

Terrible waiter who messed up order multiple times and had to wait for him over ten each time he left the table. My dad orders a soup and trout. Another 30 mins goes by and no sign of him, when finally another waiter brings the soup which was wrong. Two minutes later our waiter comes and brings the wrong soup again! He ordered a fish and he got a steak. When he told him he ordered trout, the waiter informs him that the trout has been sold out for over 3 hours and that our waiter just didn't know. By this time, we have lost all hope in ever getting my father want he ordered. The manager comes out personally and talks to us and has to personally make sure that we had no more incidents.

I keep forgetting how bad the service is. It even reflects on food - my dinner arrived lukewarm. We waited for 10 minutes with reservations, plenty of empty tables. Waited for 25 minutes for entree. Waited for 15 minutes to get desert. Waited for 10 minutes for waiter to take the credit card. Waited for 10 minutes to get it back. The restaurant was half empty!!!! Get your act together.

Listen up, the presentation of the dinner, all phases, was very very good. The appetizer could have been warmer when it arrived at the table. The dessert, peach cobbler, was unremarkable, not memorable, taste wise. I would not order it again. The entree, lobster cobb salad was very good and repeatable. Self-parking at your Hackensack NJ location was difficult, thank goodness you offered valet service in recognition of this inconvenience. The greeters at the front were helpful and intelligent and polite. Will return. Will recommend.

We were assigned a new waiter with no experience and no support. Orders arrived in wrong sequence from start to finish. Drinks where returned. I asked for the manager and he was not helpful with anything I have reported. It seems like he hears it often. Don’t mean to get down on the waiter, new guy was nervous. But the organization sets him up to fail if he is not trained properly. Was looking forward to a nice dinner with my wife, but it didn’t happen here at McCormick & Schmick’s

I enjoy going to this restaurant. This is my 4th visit; and as usual, I had a great time with husband. We arrived early (1 hour) and we were afraid that we may have to wait. The hostess acknowleged us but she did not appear to be in a hurry to seat us. But a nice young man, named Bobby, took care of us and introduced himself to be our waiter. He was so tentative and a perfect gentleman. He was able to make 2 of my favorite drinks. We loved the shrimp kisses. They were delicious. I ordered a well-done hamburger as an entree, but it was not to my liking. But Bobby took it back to the chef; and the chef came out to apology to me for not preparing the burger to my specification. That made my day. The staff was wonderful.

The servers were not familiar with the new Spring specials and when asked a question couldn't answer without going to check with the kitchen. We were told that one of the meals came with vegetables and rec'd the meal w/potatoes and when we brought this to the servers attention she brought it but then charged us for the additional side dish. Speed of service was a little on the slow side.

The crab hashbrowns were so salty that I could not finish. Scallops did not seem fresh. Waiter comp'd my husbands desert. My husband loved the lemon custard pie. I thought it was okay. Would I go again. This is my second time. The first time the food was excellent. This time not so much. The waiter was excellent.

I was so excited to try this restaurant! My hubby had dined here 4 years ago, and though expensive, he had a very good experience. Thus, he thought it would be a great dining choice for our anniversary dinner. While not every aspect of the evening was negative, the overall experience was only fair. The ambience and service were wonderful. Our waitor could not have been more attentive. The restaurant was seemingly clean with little noise. However, the food was our issue! Everything that should have been hot arrived barely warm with little flavor - from the appetizers to the entrees. It was as if the food had been cooling for 15 minutes before being brought to us..awful! The coffee was the hottest part of the meal! We will not be returning

We should have read the reviews before we made a reservation. Food was awful. I ordered Clam Chowder as an appetizer. Progresso can soup taste better than this. Boring and bland. My main entree was Stuffed Atlantic Salmon. Salmon came out over cooked and dry. Side of mash potato tasted like it was made from the box and broccoli and carrots was bland. My husband ordered Parmesan Crusted Flounder. He thought it was baked but it was fried. Also over cooked and dry. He didn't eat the other half of the fish. My son ordered Steak and Lobster. No flavor and they forgot to bring him drawn butter. For the price of $32.99 it was definitely not worth it. We will not return again. Go some place else.
