  • "I had eaten at this restaurant twice before, at different locations, and was greatly disappointed by the taste of the New York Strip steak. It tasted as if it had been soaked in water and all the water had not been removed. At any moment, I expected someone to tell me that they had purchased their steaks from Walmart. The steak was flavorless."

  • "The head manager Shari was terrible. Our table was not ready when we arrived. We waited at the host stand and had to keep asking when it would be ready. She obviously messed up and tried to blame her staff when she was the only one working the computer. She was very rude on top of everything. When we finally sat down they put us in front of the open kitchen which was very noisy. Our waiter moved our seat for us which was very nice. Then it took forever to get our drinks. We asked to speak to the manager and they said "let me get you the assistant manager, she is much nicer!" Very true. The assistant manager Sophie was very helpful and made sure the rest of our time there was a better experience. Overall BAD service but good food. "

  • "We used to love this restaurant for its food. We hadn't been in awhile. Now we will never go back and never recommend it to anyone else. Such a shame. We waited for 20 minutes for a server to even acknowledge us while having to listen to techno "house" music (hardly ideal for high-end dining much less any dining). Three different servers walked by our table repeatedly almost as if they were trying to ignore us on purpose. We didn't get so much as a look, much less a glass of water. We left and ate somewhere else. P.S. The people who work here need a lesson on customer service from the wait staff at The Capital Grille. They've got it down perfectly."

  • "We met some out-of-town relatives in DC to see the cherry blossoms. Server was attentive, prompt, brought us extra sauce/ketchup as needed. Food was delicious (especially the crab cakes). One of our group of four prefers meat to seafood; she said that her steak was delicious, sides were tasty and appropriate. Would definitely go there again."

  • "On what is probably the busiest day in DC, the Cherry Blossom Parade day I was looking for an early dinner in town since I had a 8:00 show at National Theatre. Via OpenTable all of my favorite restaurants were booked. This location had reservations for every time slot. Obviously people knew something I did not. We had a 6:00pm reservation and need to leave by 7:30pm. We did not get seated until 6:25pm - while I was looking at six empty tables in clear view. But when we were seated on the other side of the bar HALF OF THE TABLES WERE EMPTY!!! The waiter was OK the simply grilled fish was WAY too salty, my Lobster tail was under cooked (NEVER had this before). Obvious Management problem with staffing and scheduling and bad kitchen. STAY AWAY"

  • "We often dine at McCormick & Schmick's prior to Caps hockey games. This visit was pretty weak. The waiter ignored us repeatedly. Food was OK. He failed to mention that there was a vegetable with the meal which negated the need to order an additional one. Seemed a waste of food and money. Perhaps he was new as he spilled a beer on someone at the adjacent table. An accident but the staff seemed far more interested in wiping up the floor and the chair than the diner himself. Other waiters seemed to stop to chat right at our table which was uncomfortable. Overall, a C- rather than the normal much higher grade."

  • "Was able to get a last minute seating but the food was just OK. The service was just OK, slow but moderately friendly. This place used to have a decent name for itself, but that's apparently changed. While in town on business I was asked numerous times where we ate and the reply to my answer of "McCormick and Schmick's" was generally "why?". That unfortunate because it is in a great location with tons of potential."

  • "We had a reservation for a party of 13 and we were seated promptly. However, they were out of about 6 or 7 menu items ranging from appetizers to entrees to desserts. The service was painfully slow and it took over 30 minutes to even get our check and pay. It was a very bad experience."

  • "I had not been here in years and it was a total disappointment. The waitress was sweet but clearly not well-trained. We ordered a bottle of wine after we were seated and she brought us something different. We sent it back and then waited until all of our appetizers AND entrees were served before we were served any wine at all (every bottle we ordered they were out of and she did not know wines or who could help, so just kept disappearing to look for a bottle that could not be found). I ordered the seared tuna entree. I am not sure what I was served, but it was not seared tuna. Maybe something dyed to look like tuna? I had one bite and sent it back. Since we still had not been served any wine, it just added to the disaster of the evening."

  • "Nice environment , good location, clean, friendly staff! Maryland crab soup to die for! So so good! Love their fresh bread too! For entree I ordered trout with orzo, was a little bit oily, but dessert was on point! Upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream m m mmm!!!! So good! Definitely recommend"

  • "We ate at McCormick & Schmick's before the wizards game which was held at the Verizon center. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good. Both of my daughters ordered the crab cakes. They were a bit dry and tasted kind of fishy. I ordered the filet and stuffed shrimp. Both were delicious. My husband ordered the chopped salad and the scallops. Both were delicious. It was a very short walk to the Verizon center. My kids are 11 & 14. This restaurant was kid friendly. The evening worked out great. This restaurant is also very close to the spy museum which is fun to go to as well. Parking was $20. Our bill was about $150. Enjoy!"

The waitress took my dessert and cleared the table without asking if we were finished eating. There seems to be a lot of standing around and talking and less attention to detail."

  • "My wife and I had a date night and decide to go to M&S. The wait was not as long as we thought and it was a nice crowd for a Friday evening. The service was poor at best. My wife ordered a salad for appetizer and it never came, i order a beer on tap and I had to remind that i never received it and when he did bring it, it was room temp. We ordered drinks and appetizers and wanted to wait to order entrees. Food was warm and came in a timely (pasta dish) manner but but badly under seasoned! Only because me and my wife was enjoying each others company and rarely get out that we didnt pay attention to the service."

  • "wAS ATTENDING A SHOW AT WARNER THEATRE AND TRIED TO TAKE IN THE WHOLE dc EXPERIENCE.Boy were we dissapointed Service was very slow although it didnt appear very busy , Our waiter kept forgetting to bring items and had to ask several times. time between salad and entree was way to long and our side order was forgotten and did not come to table until we were almost finished. Then not prepared as advertised"

  • "I had chosen this restaurant because it was across the street from our hotel and I had previously eaten at this restaurant in Pittsburgh. The food was really good but the service left something to be desired. Our reservation was after 7pm and it wasn't that busy but our waitress seemed to take care of her other tables than ours. We had to stop her each time walking past if we need anything. Hopefully when you visit the service will be as good as the food was."

I ordered the Ultimate Mixed Seafood platter and I expected more food than I got. It was delicious, just a little on the small side. Other than that, I had a great experience, and I would definitely eat there again."

  • "We made a reservation at 5:15 to eat before an event across the street at 6:30. We told them when we checked in and sat down and reminded them twice. The restaurant was nearly empty when we sat down but it still took 15 minutes to order and we finally got our food after repeated inquiries, at 6:20. And then it was just average. Totally upsetting experience for which no one save one waitress ever apologized. Wouldn't recommend based on lack of customer service and definitely wouldn't advise going there if you're pressed for time."

  • "I decided to go late at 1 pm knowing most people are back to work and there would be no crowd. There was no crowd, plenty of available tables more than 15 but I had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. I almost left seeing all the vacancies that the hostess would not allow me to occupy. There was an older couple and grand child who came in and was told a 15 minute wait and gave me the confused eye as well. Once seated, my food took a little longer than I thought to come out and I never did get my bread but my food was nice and hot, delicious blackened mahi mahi. I hope management reads this because the delayed seating and no crowd almost lost them a customer but I say go for the food. Maybe there was just a lack of servers when I went."

At 7pm how could a steakhouse have no steak? What we did eat was good but the service was erratic and slow. It took three hours to complete the dinner."
