This is a fine restaurant; wev'e dined there before. Th e food is great, though the portions a a little small. Thewy unlike a lot of other place offer the same items as they usually do during restaurant week. Our waiter confimed tha andI appreciated that.

    Celebration
    Dined on 8/22/2014
We had planned to celebrate a personal occasion for some time at M&S and we're pretty excited about it considering my visit to one in Houston, Tx. We ordered drinks and they came out wrong. Ordered the $30 swordfish and it was very, very dry and overcooked. She swapped our drink out and just said sorry about the fish. The other.entree was great and a lot less expensive. Just disappointed all the way around sadly. For $100 You expect better, I do anyway...

I chose this for dinner with my wife assuming it would be a nice dinner based on prior experience. They delivered. The rockfish and the wahoo were both great. The chopped salad that I ordered was worth the trip. I wish they had more craft beers available but the wine list was good.

  • Choose Red Lobster instead.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 8/22/2014
Save yourself some money, you can get pretty much the same quality seafood at Red Lobster. While my wife enjoyed her Lobster Bisque, and her Shrimp mac n cheese, my mixed grill left a lot to be desired. I substituted a Crab cake for the Salmon on the menu for a $4.00 up charge, and it was over grilled on one side and I've had much better crab cakes. The stuffing in the stuffed shrimp was the same as the crab cake and not what Id expect from an expensive seafood place. Decent but not good. The grilled shrimp had been on the grill to long on one side also. The best part was the Scallops, problem was they only served one and a half of them and they weren't what I would call large. Not worth the cost in my opinion.

They seated us immediately, but didn't note that our reservation was thru Open Table, so had to go through the hassle of Open Table emailing me as a no show. The table service was very good, but the food was surprisingly poor. It was pretty tasteless. For so few seafood restaurants in Denver, they need to beef up the seasoning of their accompaniments, their sauces and if they're breading fish for baking, frying - add some flavor. We were very disappointed in the food. The people that work there were very personable and welcoming.

  • A Snug little Lunch
    Queenie
    Dined on 8/21/2014
I met with 4 other girlfriends for lunch at McCormick & Schmick's -- made a reservation on line, and requested one of their 'snug' dining areas. My request was handled exactly as requested and we had the perfect table, tucked away from the rest of the busy restaurant. Our wait person was Sara and she made sure we were well taken care of. The food was delicious and making a decision from among all the yummy choices was the only difficult part. We had a wonderful time and we all agree, this is one of our favorite places for lunch and we will come again soon.

I took my boyfriend to McCormick & Schmick's for his birthday dinner. Our server was wonderful. Allowing us time to talk and enjoy our date, without rushing us to order or intruding on us between meal courses. My boyfriend received a special "birthday" menu, and tasteful birthday greetings from all the staff who served us. And of course the fresh seafood was outstanding and timely served.

I never learn my lesson - don't order seafood in Denver. My date and I had the tuna which was horribly overcooked and dry to the point of inedible. Then we ordered dessert which was an upside down apple pie. The crust was soggy and uncooked and overall it just wasn't that good. It was my first time at the restaurant and I can say for certain that McCormick & Schmick's won't be on my places to dine list in the future.

To start there was no one waiting to get people as you walked through the door. Waited several minutes for someone to show. Waiter asked if we wanted bread, we said yes but it never showed. Ordered mussels, very small and over cooked. Not what you would expect! Disappointed.

If I'd known prior to going that Landry's bought it, I wouldn't have gone. Food product has definitely declined. They were out of lobster and a flatbread offering. Seems crazy for a seafood specialty restaurant to be out of lobster. Server was great but couldn't make up for the fishy crab tower and crab cake. Prices were not commiserate with what we received. Would choose Pappadeaux for better food at better prices next time.

The venue gets busy as early as 11:30am and by noon it is crowded and quite loud. The service is friendly and knowledgeable and during lunch the food arrives surprisingly quickly. I had the Lobster Cobb Salad with Tarragon Ranch which is served in a unique form and is one of the best salads I have ever had. My colleague had the Chopped Chicken Parm Salad which was also great.

If you like seafood, go to some other restaurant. They were out of live Maine lobsters. We had steak and lobster tail, but the lobster tail was very small (could have cooked a better/fresher one at home). The wedge potatoes that accompanied the meal were hard and only 1/4 cooked. Service was lousy and there were very few people in the restaurant. Much better options around in the Denver area.
