Party of Five to celebrate a birthday. Very nice touch to have added a personalized Happy Birthday wish right on the menu. Food was outstanding as usual. Service is smidge slow, but we weren't in any rush so not a big problem. Food is fresh, very well prepared and presented.

The food was ok. My steak was overcooked and I heard someone at a nearby table complain about the same. The portions were also pretty small--the only of the 3 restaurants I went to over the week that I didn't have anything to take home for another meal. Additionally, my friend and I felt very rushed (even though the restaurant was fairly empty). The entrees came out before we were even done with our appetizers, and everything just felt hurried.

We started at the bar during happy hour for the reduced price drinks. Bartender was great as were the Mojito's. We took advantage of the restaurant week special--the food was very good. We especially enjoyed the fresh lobster tail. Was disappointed with the small dessert when we were expecting the regular apple tart--this wasn't quite the same dessert. Stacy, our waitress, was very dynamic and made sure I food came at the right time.

I went to dinner with my daughter's family, including 3 grandchildren who can be a handful. I was most impressed by the seating arrangements. We were put in a secluded room with only 3 other tables, which made us feel like we were not impacting anyone trying to have a romantic evening, and we felt like we were having a nice family get-together. The entire staff was very patient with the children, using gentle guiding instead of impatience and irritation as you sometimes find in restaurant staff. We were all treated like we were special and everyone made us feel like whatever we wanted could be accommodated. We had a very special, relaxing evening that I will remember for a long time.

Excellent server. Food was decent (came for an early dinner, and our potatoes were not cooked through, but everything else was delicious). Customer base is a mix of tourists, classy locals, and people who appear to have never eaten outside of a Popeyes. Not much the restaurant can do to fix that, unfortunately.

We were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary, needless to say were expecting a "special" dinner. The good, our server Mia was great, very attentive, knowledgeable, with a wonderful personality. The timeliness of the various courses were perfect, never felt rushed, paced just right. The not so good: Ordered my strip steak medium-well, meaning there should be a nice layer of pink. Well, when the steak arrived it was over cooked by a lot, again, the staff was very attentive, and apologetic. The next steak that came out, slightly better, but still overcooked. I didn't send it back, because I didn't want my wife to eat alone. We ordered asparagus, never got them. We pointed it out to Mia who offered to got them, we said don't bother.

Food was generally good and well-prepared. Service was adequate but not remarkable. Waitress never identified herself or offered any specialties. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came to our table after we had been seated. Wine list for full bottles was good, but wine by the glass left very few selections.

We have been there before and this time we went because of restaurant week. The food on this menu is of lower quality and taste, than their usual menu. Thus a disappointing experience. Restaurant week is a scheme at some place and M&S falls into thus category. We have had far better experiences with Restaurant week menus elsewhere.

This is the first time dining at Schmick's since the were sold to Landry's, Inc. The food was good. We unfortunately had a brand new, very inexperienced person taking care of us. But the restaurant was not the same as the Schmick's of old - no "daily" features, no custom menus, no polish. It truly was like an expensive Landry's with an over-priced wine list and upscale furnishings. For a $160 dinner (salads, entrees, wine only) for 2, I expected the old Schmick's level of polish and not just good food.

I love M&S. The food is always fantastic and the service is top tier. The lunch prices are in line with an upscale dining experience. The Lobster Cobb salad is one of the best items on the menu. If you order the salad, be sure to request the chef to go a little light on the dressing. It's amazing but could be a little less wet. The environment is wonderful for hosting business meetings during the day and then for dinner with a special guest at night. My wife and I have dined at M&S for special occasions in the past and have been very happy with the experience.

Where to begin? Had seared ahi. SIMPLE AND SEARED. It arrived with a chipotle rub on the outside (never mentioned in menu). I had to cut it away as the waiter was SO bad that I was afraid I might never get my meal...or worse. Oh wait, perhaps it was applying the rub that took our meal more than 40 minutes to arrive. Had oysters as app: meh. And the waiter never described which were which..... The waiter. Had to ask for everything. Took forever to anything, including refill on tea. Didn't even fill water glasses the entire time we were at the table. Please train your employees the basic skills. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Since we went on a weekday, we took advantage of the 3 course fixed price dinner. We both got the salad with walnuts and blue cheese and it was a very nice choice. Fresh and tasty with a light dressing. My main was the beef medallions and shrimp. It came with vegetables that were a bit overcooked for my liking. The molten chocolate cake was a nice dessert with the portion not being too large and refreshing ice cream on top. My dining partner's creme brule was a very tasty treat as well.

Been to McCormick and Schmick's many times and we are part of their rewards program. Received an email with an Independance Day Special...steak and lobster with salad and desert for a reasonable price. When I showed the waitress she said she knew nothing about the special asked the manager and he said they didn't honor this offer. I was quite dissapointed so the waitress asked the manager again and he said he would honor it this time. Do I need to call and ask if they honor their own specials?

We've been to this M&S location a handful of times now, and generally service is outstanding, but the last visit was less than what we expected. It took almost a half hour to get a second round of drinks, after dinner was already served, and the manager walked by our table a number of times without saying a word... even when we tried to get his attention since our server was MIA for quite some time. Generally this is a top recommendation from us but not this time.

The restaurant's design is comfortable, with adequate room between tables. I got lost walking to the restaurant, and was 15 min. late, but seated without comment. Fine waiter. The oysters on half-shell were pristine, cold, and glistening, also well selected. Wine list was good, with variety. My entree, black mussels, cooked with Thai curry and peppers, was delicious. Spicy, but not overwhelming the mussels. Large serving, a great value. I took the waiters recommendation for dessert, chocolate mousse cake, and was pleased. Because of ambiance it would be my choice of two good seafood restaurants in the Crystal City area.

Food was great. Server informative but I judge service based on refilling my coffee and water. I had to ask for each. Our bill had a suggested gratuity of 18 percent. Which was 21.77. We gave a 20 dollar tip in cash but she came back and said she needed the other 1.77. If its suggested then why wasn't she happy with the 20?

My partner and I frequent Landry's restaurants often, and M&S is definitely our favorite. Due to a last minute schedule debacle, our graduation party was moved from the DC (F Street) location to the Crystal City spot, and it was well worth the change. Our server, Cameron, was outstanding - attentive but not overbearing and quick with recommendations for my parents who had never been. This location is a bit more cramped than either DC location, but the service made all the difference. Highly recommended.
