I have dined here many times and most times order the cashew crusted tilapia. This time, the piece was much smaller and very thin. The bottom was burnt so you didn't get much meat at all.

I've had great meals at McCormick & Schmicks in the past, but this experience was disappointing. The service was very slow -- our waiter was not very attentive at all. The food was just okay. The salads were very good, but the trout and salmon were both dry and lacking in flavor. However, the atmosphere is very nice and they have a good wine list.

We had a gift card so we went. The waiter was pretty slow, and tried to up-sell us on everything. The food was OK, nothing to write home about. The Creme Brulee for dessert was not good at all.

Celebrating a son and mother reunion on his 27th birthday!!! I emailed the restaurant and didn't receive a reply!!! We started our date in the bar area for Happy Hour, we didn't receive any appetizer plate, silverware, or napkins. I guess we was to eat with our hands and wipe on our pants. Then we proceeded to dinner area. There was a party of 7 and out of the seven only 3 people even ate the meal. Food was cold and poorly prepared. POOR customer service even from the manager...

My Husband & I decided we wanted to revisit an old friend, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood for our 13th Wedding Anniversary dinner. We remember it was always one of our favorite restaurants and this trip reminded us why. The great dining experience started with a special Happy 13th Anniversary printed menu. Our server Kevin was very attentive and let us linger over drinks and apps. My Husband had the grilled Opah with tropical salsa and I had the Blackened Mako Shark. Dinner was sublime. We finished with the delightful upside down candied walnut apple pie. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and next time we will not wait so long to return to this established foodie hotspot.

For the cost associated I found the service level and food quality to be below average. Had to ask several times for bread and water at the start of the meal. Drink orders took over 10 minutes each time. Fish was overlooked.

We were in the bar....this wasn't the dining room with the regular menu. I think I would rate the regular dining room higher. That being said, I think were very accommodating about adjusting our table for our party size....I think I called like three times to change it. They had some decent prices on the happy hour. Hamburgers and wings were quite good. Several people had the shrimp and ordered more but it had an ingredient that I can't eat so I had to pass on that. Edamame....meh. Hummus was just okay. They were nice about subbing vegetables for the pita.

The Firecracker shrimp was amazing. I highly recommended it. I was not really impressed with the wine selection. Many were way to over priced and not worth it. We had a nice time, our waitress was very nice and had some good recommendations. Overall, I think it's just a bit overpriced.

Great atmosphere! Love the decor! Kind and attentive staff! Loved the food! Only complaint is the cost...should probaby be listed under "$$$" instead of "$$"...the three of us racked up a check for $105 (2 mid-price entrees, 1 salad, 3 drinks...ouch!!!) If you're prepared to spend a bit of money, it's a great place! :)

Our experience was mixed. Service was outstanding, drinks and starters were top-notch as well. The salmon entree was good. The bouillabaisse was terrible. Tepid garlic water and cool, underdone shellfish. No saffron, no rouille, and only a tiny scrap of cod - no other fish. When I complained, one of the chef's came out and informed me that "that is the way we make it." OK, so they make it badly.

Two of us had the bouillabaisse and one had lobster cobb salad. All were very good. Lobster was a little overcooked and dry, but the overall was great. Had an adult birthday and they brought her a free desert but... it was after we already ordered and had started desert. Extra desert was a bit much. Wait staff has always been great. Treat them right & they'll return the favor. Works every time. Probably our 10th time here and will continue to come back. Little mistakes don't spoil a restaurant... but they could get better.

I had blackened mahi-mahi, and my husband had salmon over orzo. Both portions were enormous, and also delicious! Our fish was perfectly cooked. Mine was served with mashed potatoes and spinach, and everything was absolutely delicious. Our server was Molly, and she was charming and efficient. We had a lovely dinner.

We went to celebrate our anniversary. I was really looking forward to the experience. The hostess was great as I'd put the wrong time in my calendar, but she made it work. Our experience went downhill from there. I specifically said we were celebrating our anniversary when I made reservations. Our server was less than enthusiastic. I asked for grapefruit juice and she immediately said they don't have it, then checks and brings me a glass. We were ready to order and tried to catch her eye, but she disappeared in the back. Our foods portions were smaller than expected for the price and our sides were lukewarm. By that time we were just ready to leave, forget asking for an anniversary dessert. We'll spend that $145 somewhere else next time.

We made online reservations&were greeted by waiter John as to if we would like any drinks. I asked what types of MargaritasorDaiquiris & he abruptly chuckled"I'm sorry we don't have blenders here, the wine list is right here".After looking over the menu my husband noticed you did serve Margaritas. We ordered, food was very good, I had SeaScallops & my husband had steak. Both were extremely delicious. We both ordered salads. When the salads came out John was very quick to point out that you had a new girl making the salads & if we were to come back,"we shouldn't expect that big of portions next time".He came to fill up waters&filled my husbands but not mine, 1/4 fulll. He came to table too many times & when*Please see Private Note to Restaurant*

Finally, good seafood that won't break the bank in Columbus. McCormick & Schmick's serves good, quality seafood that's attractively presented and offered at a reasonable price. While not cheap, it won't drain your wallet either like some other seafood restaurants in the area. After living most of my life in Florida where good seafood is abundant and inexpensive, I've searched for almost 4 years for good seafood that wasn't outrageously priced. I found it.

Too long of a wait for our dinners to arrive. Once they arrived, we received a different vegetable of the day than on the menu, the mash potatoes were cold and the fish portions were noticeably different even tough we ordered the same entre. Don't think we will be returning any time soon or recommend to anyone.

We went to McCormick and Schmick's to celebrate my birthday, and it was a great experience. I had notified them ahead of time that I am unable to eat gluten, and the server was very knowledgeable of what items on the menu were gluten-free and how they were prepared. I started with the lump crab tower, and then for the main course I had the stuffed Atlantic salmon with sides of mushrooms and red pepper white cheddar mash, and my dad had the lobster cobb salad. Everything was delicious and prepared very well. After dinner we went over to the bar to watch the OSU football game, and the bartender was very friendly and eager to engage in conversation with us. Overall it was a memorable experience and we will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant on many occasions. Since my husband loves seafood, we went for his birthday, however, the quality of the food has declined significantly. The last two times we went, the food was not as good as usual, but this time was awful. My husband's food was rubbery and inedible, and mine was overcooked. It tasted like it had been sitting for hours and then reheated in a microwave. Although they tried to bring my husband another meal, his second meal was equally disgusting. Our waitress was very nice, but the food was terrible and they still charged us for my meal (although not his). I don't know what's happened to McCormick and Schmicks, but I don't intend to return anytime soon.

We had always enjoyed M&S, but recent word of mouth and online reviews talked of a decline in food quality, often attributed to their purchase by Landry's. We were assured that we recognized our server Trish from "the old days", who was as professional, cheerful and helpful as ever. The lobster tails were tasty (maybe not up to Maine lobster-shack tastiness, but acceptable!) and the mussels were delicious.

This restaurant is usually my go-to place for seafood and special occasions. Generally the service is pretty decent, even when busy. This last trip to the restaurant was okay but the service was not as good as usual. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner which meant the restaurant was not as busy as a Friday or Saturday. The waiter did not stop by very often and we had to wait over 30 minutes for our food. When it did arrive, it looked and tasted great, but the mashed potatoes that came with my dish were a bit dry. The waiter stopped by once to tell us the food would be out soon and never came back with the food. One of the hostesses brought the food out. I might think twice about going again considering the prices.

My husband and I love this restaurant and we come for special occasions and when our daughter is home college. Loved your chef's special one weekend with halibut back a few weeks. Therefore, we choose this location for our 24th anniversary. This last time, I tried the crab cake entree. Upon arrival, my crab cakes were a little "too done" i.e. burnt on one side. I felt that chef strategically put the brown side down on the plate and covered the cakes up with the corn salsa (which is one of my favorites). I advised the matre'd and she said she would notify the chef but nothing was done to address the quality i.e. an courtesy dessert, a coffee, or even a discount to the meal.

A little disappointed in this last visit. Usually some of the best fish in the city and service is generally very good. I guess everyone's entitled to a not-so-good day. Just hope this isn't a trend. Buttermilk fried oyster appetizers fried to a rock hard crisp with no flavor whatsoever. Bang Bang Shrimp missing most of the sauce and the entrees were merely okay. Coupled with excuses of why several sides were not available but could possibly be available by the time our entrees were ready pretty much added to the disappointment. Common sides not available on a Friday night at 7PM? Again; hopefully this was a fluke as we've always enjoyed this place.

There was very annoying music playing constantly in the background. We felt like we were in a 70's disco. My clam chowder was very salty and the texture was as if it was pureed in a food processor. My fish & chips were also salty and overcooked. My wife said her filet was ok but nowhere nearly as good as other restaurants such as J Gilberts. I told our waiter about the overuse of salt in the chowder and again on the fish & chips. He just said sorry you didn't like it. We'll never go back.

Service was outstanding, very attentive and kind server. Menu was outstanding, plenty of options and fresh fish as well as chef's specials. I ordered a steak inside of seafood, but it was disappointing. For $28.99, I received a 6oz. New York Filet with only a side of about 5 or 6 asparagus. The offering was very tiny. Additionally, the steak wasn't that great. Pretty standard and not very thick considering the price. The portion was incredibly small, though. That was the main issue I had with my meal.

My only grip has nothing to do with the restaurant but is there no place to go where the clientele can do a little better than cut-offs and flip flops, even on a Saturday night?

I first had drinks and appetizers in the bar. The food was bad and the service was slow. We had very greasy and poorly presented calamari followed. We also had hummus and a chicken/lettuce wrap. All were really unappealing. Even though I had a reservation and gave my dining companion's name, we were seated at 2 different tables despite the fact that we both referenced the reservation. Our entrees and service in the dining room were much better than in the bar but nothing special. I have dined here many times before with better results but this trip was a major disappointment.
