McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Cherry HillExcellent DiningI went to M&S for a Mother's Day dinner. I made reservations for 6:30pm and arrived about 6:15pm. I was seated immediately. The restaurant was crowded, but not packed to capacity. The food was absolutely divine and the service was good considering the crowd. My only complaint was that desert took forever to get to my table. I think we waited about 30 mins. At that time, I asked for a manager. He was polite and went to check on desert. He came back with the waiter. They both apologized for the wait and the manager subtracted the cost of desert. It was unnecesary, but I liked the fact that he made sure I was happy. I plan on going back for some of the Calamari and Stuffed Shrimp. Our waitress did a very good job of making sure we got everything we needed, and made sure the kids were taken care of. Everyone was please with their entrées. The dinners were crafted to our perfection, even when we wanted to send something back for some addition oven time that wasn't cooked exactly our liking. My company was entertaining an important client and Mike was truly exceptional. While younger, he was eager to assist,
offer suggestions on the menu and the wine selection and was engaging in his conversations with our table. Towards the end of the meal, he even took the time to ask us our personal favorite wines - again being informative and communicative with his guests. Mike was in a word - superb. It wasn't funny to us. We were seated at 6:30pm and done eating at 7:15. The waiter brought my meal to me while I was still eating my appetizer. We normally like to eat here but this really robbed us of an enjoyable meal because of the rushed service. I didn't get more than two sips of my before dinner drink and the appetizer came. The service was outstanding and food was very good. I was most impressed with the wait staff; each member was extremely friendly and welcoming and our server was outstanding and bartender just as great. The seafood dishes were very good and well presented, and for the non-seafood eater in the group, the filet was outstanding. The cost was moderate, but overall not too bad considering we had appetizers, drinks and dessert to compliment the meal. Waiter was very competent and efficient. Food was good, steak just a little overdone. Lobster and trout done nicely. Lobster mashed potatoes were tasty. A bit on the expensive side with the potatoes at $10, but worth it. Key lime pie was a bit on the land side. While the crab legs were good, they were slightly over done and I was expecting a larger portion of them. Didn't need shell crackers to get into them as well. We did have to send the potatoes back because they were not hot, but our server who was outstanding brought them back in a separate bowl and served them to us himself.
