  • "The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because I took my wife here for our anniversary knowing it was a seafood restaurant and she loves king crab. We checked the menu online and were excited to go. When we got there we asked how much crab you got with the meal, and even though the prices are a little high, we were willing to pay. After a couple minutes, our waitress came back and said "I hope you weren't set on king crab, because the chef just told me we don't have any." Now for me this wasn't a big deal, because I love any kind of fish, but my wife was very disappointed. The only type of seafood she likes is crab. Other then that, the food and service was excellent. "

  • "We tried Restaurant Week at McCormick & Schmick's twice. The mussels with linguine was very good as was the chicken with marsala sauce. The coconut shrimp appetizer was fantastic! It was crispy and had a mango, horseradish salsa on it. The service was quick and very accommodating. I think this is a great place for lunch after a day of shopping at Bel-Square."

  • "We like the convenience. We have had the same waiter twice now and he is fantastic. However - please train the other service people to at least ask if someone wants cream or sugar with their coffee. We had one bring coffee and then leave - so we had to wait until the waiter came back to get cream."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and we were impressed with our meal. I had a melt in your mouth top sirloin steak and she had the Washington Rockfish. Both were wonderfully seasoned and the vegetables were also seasoned well and crisp. I am still commenting on the Spinach & Wild Mushroom Saute. It was very delicious."

  • "We were there on a busy Saturday evening. I most impressed by the service we received from everyone and especially our waitress. We felt welcome and well cared for. The food selection was very good and although I did not have wine they did have a good selection. We all liked how the food was presented and best of all how it tasted."

  • "This is the second time I tried the Bellevue location for Restaurant Week. Last year the were out of the only seafood dish on the menu so I left because the substitute dish was not appealing. This year I ordered the only seafood item which was pasta with Mussels. The Mussels smelled so bad I couldn't eat them and I love Mussels. I ate the pasta and bread to fill up and both were bland. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was great. The desert was tasty but ice cream was runny/melted. Won't be going back. Too bad because my experience at the Seattle location was very positive but that was many years ago."

  • "We eat here a lot. Generally it is very good, with excellent service. We came expecting to participate in Seattle Restaurant Week after receiving an email about the event from the restaurant. We sat forever before our waiter came over. We had to ask for the special menu for Restaurant Week. Although the food was good, the portions were smaller than they normally are. This has not been our experience at other participating restaurants. We will still eat here because it is close to our offices and very convenient, but were disappointed this time."

  • "We went for the $28 prix fix dinner special they advertised. We were not given a menu that included the special. We had to ask the server about the special and he said he'd have to ask his manager. He returned and read the choices to us from a card. We ordered wine right after we were seated. We had to follow-up on the wine 3 times (the restaurant and bar weren't busy) and we were almost done with our salads before we got the wine. We were served bread; but, had to ask for olive oil with the bread. This restaurant used to be one of our favorites; but, it has gone down hill since it joined the Landry's chain."

  • "First of all, we love McCormick & Schmick's - you can always count on a great meal. However, I recently received an email describing a "special" 3 course dinner with a stated price. I made a reservation for 4 days later. When we asked for that particular menu, no one knew what we were talking about (including the manager). I described it, including price. They searched and found a different special menu -- not the same foods and a higher price. In this instance, we were very disappointed. We did stay and eat and both the food and service were excellent, as always. I don't understand the advertising of specials that don't exist when you arrive -- better call and check before you make that reservation !!"

  • "Three of us went for dinner and were a little disappointed. One dinner out of three was good, the trout. The halibut was poorly presented and cooked till dry. The coho salmon was also overcooked. I mentioned it to the waiter and the manager came over and was very nice and offered me another dish which I refused. He removed the halibut from the bill. After many visits, the best thing I have had there is the steak, which was great. They need help in doing fish dishes."

  • "Our server brought a tiny amount of bread for a table of 4 people-the equivalent of two dinner size rolls. We asked for more. Waited, waited, waited. Another server (not ours) walked by with another tiny plate of bread, we asked for it. Again, there wasn't enough for everyone. The appetizers were great, but tiny. This restaurant is overpriced for the quality and amount of food. I had a gift card with 20-some dollars left on it, which I attempted to use at payment time. Server said to me: "your card was never activated." I knew that was false because I had used it before, it was originally a $50 gift card. He refused to accept my gift card or resolve it for me. I went home & checked the balance: $20-some dollars. I feel ripped off."

  • "This is always one of my fallback restaurants. I come here when other places I want to go to are full. But is that bad? No, it's not. I'm getting snobby about food. It's higher end than most chains. You don't come here looking for western contemporary cuisine, but you do come for well prepared fish and things / middle of the road style American food. And there's a lot to be said for that. Besides, you can take your non-foodie friends here, everyone will be happy."

  • "It's been about 3-4 years since we last had dinner at your restaurant . It was excellent then, with larger and more carefully prepared meals. We were very disappointed at how incomplete the meal appeared as it was served. The small portions on huge plates seemed pointless. The food itself was mediocre to say the least. We were not impressed for spending over $200 for 4 people. Although, our server did a good job and we're glad to see that you still personalize your menus ( our guests were celebrating their anniversary). Unfortunately I would not recommend your restaurant, sorry."

  • "We go to McCormicks a couple times a year. The most recent experience was far below the norm. Not only did we wait an hour for our appetizers to arrive, but it took another 40 minutes after the appetizers for our dinner to arrive. Thankfully, we were dining with family and the wait could be used to catch up. When the food did arrive, it was delicious as always. Our waiter, while nice, seemed to forget that customers shouldn't have to ask for more water, more bread, small plates to share all of the appetizers, more wine, etc.... Hoping this was just one bad experience."

The waiter engaged in some strange behavior that made us uncomfortable, the manager I spoke to actually compounded the situation and made it worse. While the service and food were adequate both fell far short for the amount spent. Suffice it to say we don't ever need to go back again."

  • "We were excited to find such a good spot that we were able to get into with a large party at the last minute on a weeknight. The previous night we had dined at a much more expensive local restaurant with a similar steak and seafood menu, but the food quality couldn't compare with what we had at McCormick and Schmick's. The lobster bisque looked amazing and my co-worker really enjoyed it. The salads were great and the seafood combo had one of the best salmon's I've had in the area. The service was very good and the waiter even accommodated us with the two coupons we had. We will definitely be back when we are in the area."

  • "Mussels to start were good, all of them open and the broth was very good. Shrimp kisses were just okay. Salmon was stuffed though it seemed as though the stuffing was more of a topping. The salmon was nicely cooked, not overdone just right but it was bland. I did nt think it was very well seasoned. Mashed potatoes were a little lumpy. Service was very good. Cocktails are worth it!! Wouldn't go back......there is better in bellevue to choose from."

  • "3 of dined here. 2 of us had outstanding food. The salmon for the 3rd person was not prepared to her liking. They promptly tried to fix, but then she said it was over done. To be fair, she is a very picky eater. Situation was acceptably resolved and we will continue to patronize and recommend this establishment. Wish the noise level scale above had more levels. Noise was above moderate, but not so loud that we couldn't have conversation. All in all, it was a nice dining experience. Thank you for the nice evening."

  • "I met 2 old friends for lunch 2/22/14, 12:00pm. Reservations: "Lynn" party of 3. We sat in the NE corner booth. We ordered 3 Shrimp salads (waiter's recommendation), and I ate 1/2 of mine. I asked for the rest to go, but nothing came back. The waiter offered to make me another one, and I felt odd around my old friends that I hadn't seen for 15-18 yrs. So I left. I went back later myself to pick it up. Thanks--BUT--the 1/2 salad I had at lunch, and 1/2 of the salad I had later gave me indigestion/diarreah. I'm afraid either the shrimp was bad, or your veggies have that "wash" for freshness. Something was seriously OFF. It affected me BOTH times about 20 mins after I ate. With all the restarurants in the area to choose from, I won't return."

  • "They have renovated the interior and it is much more current; draped tables that lined the walk to the kitchen are gone and the wall lowered to open up the dining room, as well as expanding into a new space. We also noticed that the bar, although small, is opened up on both sides so that people can walk around it. The food was fine but not great; somehow it didn't taste fresh; I imagine it was previously frozen. The Caesar salad was fine but not even close to the best we've had. I guess it's because it's part of a franchise and quality is not the top priority. I would say the environment is much improved and the service was okay. They need to improve the time it takes to be seated and have fresher ingredients."

Had a bit of a wait between finishing our food and being able to order dessert. Then we had to wait a bit before our bill showed up. Had a discount to apply and that took a bit to get straightened out."
