Fantastic atmosphere, great looking place. Great view. Went for our 2nd anniversary and the staff went above and beyond, printing something on the menus and wishing us a happy anniversary upon greeting. 10/10!

We have been to several M&S over the years, including the first one in Portland. Have also been to this one before, but something was missing , both in the service, and the food quality. Probably just a fluke, but still disappointing

This was the worst dining experience that I can remember - I should have just walked out. It took approximately 1 hour from the time of ordering appetizers to delivery to our table. The dinner entree took about the same amount time. An addition to the entrée was requested, but not included when the dinner was delivered to the table. At least 4 wait staff passed our table while we waited for water to be refilled. Our server Dane was oblivious to everything. The restaurant appeared to be properly staffed, and it was not very busy. No one from management touched the table. I would suggest anyone visiting Baltimore try other establishments unless they wish to have to same experience that we encountered.

It was at least 15 minutes before we even got water and when the waiter did get there, he made excuses that he was busy. Talked down to us. My fish, the flounder had a terrible taste too it. The presentation was nice, and my husbands stuff shrimp was very good.

This was my third visit and it just made me wonder maybe I should never go there anymore. The restaurant was quite empty that night and still no one came to our table to serve us until I went and asked for it. Food was not that good anymore as well. We ordered their seasonal special menus and they were just not good. The only good food we loved is actually the deserts, especially the berry pudding.

This restaurant is in a nice location in the heart of downtown Baltimore. It had ample paid parking and you can have parking ticket validated in restaurant. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is of fine dinning. The tables are close so not a lot of privacy for talking. My waitress was slow and did not check in with us as frequently as we needed. Also my son used the wrong credit card to pay a portion of the bill, and the waitress came back and in a loud manner & blurted that the card was declined. She was not discreet about it at all.

We have been patrons at M & S in Baltimore for years and have enjoyed their food; however, last night was not one of them. While it has been some time since our last visit we were surprised at the changes we found during our dining experience. We experienced small portions, bland flavor and poor quality of drinks. The chefs and bartender(s) must be new and could benefit from a lot more training! Our waiter was exceptional, and we appreciated the attention he gave to our table. We made no complaints because it was a celebratory evening out for us, but rest assured it will be a long while before we return.

...did not disappoint. We visited McCormick & Schmick's (Baltimore) with a party of 8 that included 2 children. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and at no time did we feel uncomfortable for bringing children. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and did a good job keeping up with everyone's beverage refills. The food was very good, and everything was cooked as ordered. The portions were on the small side, but this is to be expected with the companies theme/advertisement of healthy eating. Overall a very pleasurable experience.

I have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant in the past but this visit was incredibly disappointing. We were there for a birthday dinner and picked this restaurant because in the past the food has been excellent and the service exceptional. That night the service was terrible and the food only ok. It was not good value for the money paid. The only redeeming thing of the evening was the fact that the manager took an interest in our table and tried to make things right. She was on her game but her staff did not seem to be.

The service was great and our waitress was very attentive. Besides that everything else was lacking. We ate dinner outside at 8:30 PM and it was incredibly dark. The only light available was a tiny candle for each table. We had to use our cell phones to see the menu. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a medium steak that was completely charred on the outside and way over done. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This was the worst dining experience we have had a restaurant in this class. The wait staff was fair, but every time they passed each other they would some kind of hand smacking game and then squeal and carry on. This was very annoying. My glass was chipped. There was paper strewn on the floor near the bathroom. Our appetizer was under cooked, the crab cakes were overcooked and our dessert which was to be topped with ice cream, came without it. To our dismay when the bill came, we had been overcharged by $15. The manager did fix that. Thankfully, we were paying with gift cards and didn't need to shell out any money, but my daughter did when she gave us the gift.

we booked a reservation for 9 on the busiest night of the year - Star Spangled Celebration - our reservation was honored at our desired time, however, it took almost 30 minutes for our waitress to take our orders for appetizers and dinner - once our orders were taken our dinners did come out at a reasonable time and hot. Since our ocassion for coming was a birthday celebration, the honorees (6 of them) were all treated to special candle desserts on the house - what fun! Our waitress was more than happy to wait and serve out desserts after the fireworks that night. Overall, it was a good night outing for birthdays and fireworks

The restaurant was very busy and they had a hard time keeping up. It took too long to get food and drinks and nothing was hot. It tasted like the food was under a heat lamp for too long. The waiter tried very hard but unfortunately he could not make up for what the restaurant was lacking. Since it took so long to get everything we decided to pass on desert.

This happened on the night of the Star-Spangled Spectacular. I made my reservation two weeks in advance, noted that we were celebrating two birthdays on the reservation, and called a week in advance to confirm once again and ask a table to view the fireworks. When we arrived, our table had no view, despite my earlier attempts, and no assistance or alternatives were offered. We chose not to take it. We went outside and got on the waiting list -- the hostess stressed that she was sure it would be only 25 minutes, and an hour later we still hadn't been seated. The hostesses are very polite, but completely ineffective, underinformed, and non-helpful every step of the way, ruining a special night. A disappointing experience.

Had not been to M&S in awhile and was disappointed in the experience. We were stuck in a back room with no ambiance except for the view of the adjacent room being set up for a large reception. We had a reservation but waited 15 minutes while watching others come in and be seated immediately. Finally realized the hostess had given our table to another party by mistake. Food was OK, but nothing special. This place has gone downhill over the years.

To start the seating and table were horrible. We were seated at a table that was 4" off level. When it was brought to the attention of the waiter, he just smiled and said it was a good thing there were no round objects on the table. The service was horrible. We ordered apps and our diner before the couple behind us and that couple received their apps and diner before we received our apps. They had a different server who by the way, brought out our food because our guy was busy? He came and apologized but the damage was done. We sat down at 5:30 and received our appetizers at 6:30 and our food at 7:15. The food was good but that is it. It really is a shame because the service and the food are so important.

Our waiter AJ was fantastic. He and the host that sat us were the only good thing about the meal. It was not busy but it still took about an hour and a half to get 3 salads and a raw fish plate. I'm not sure if one of the salads was sitting under the heat lamp for too long but the chicken made it damp and inedible, the soups that we got were cold. A manager never touched down at the table to check on anything even after we needed the chicken salad to be taken off the check/complained to our server. We had to resort to telling a hostess about the issue. It was just very odd. Like I said before, one of the best things was AJ. He was awesome.

When I make a restaurant reservation, I expect to have priority over walk-ups. Instead, we were first taken to a table in a dark area of the patio, up against the building, and next to a very boisterous private party. When I declined that table, the next offering was one in a totally empty area near the hostess stand and parking lot. This was despite many open tables in the main part of the patio, next to flower beds, views of the water, etc. Only when I insisted on one of those tables, was I deemed worthy of sitting at one, and the hostess seemed annoyed. Once seated, we had a great server and terrific service and food. Past experiences have been much better!

Very good sea food, nice ambience with excellent view of the harbor. Outdoor dining is ample, but it is first come only, no reserved tables outdoors. The inside is very attractively done, lots of dark mahogany trim. Service varies, sometimes excellent, sometimes erratic, depending on the server. Overall, a very good dining experience, and is well recommended

I went to M & S to celebrate my graduation. I had been to this location before, years ago. What I noticed is that the place has aged. It needs new carpeting (the place smelled old and musty). As we waited for our reserved table to become free, we thought we'd get a drink. The bartender was extremely rude and we never got a drink from the bar. Instead we spent a good 10 minutes talking to the manager. Finally got seated the server was nice but the food left a lot to be desired. The manager gave us our appetizer for free, due to what happen at the bar. Nice gester but the appetizer was hot crab dip and it was horrible. We would never go back.

The food and venue were great. The length of time to get seated, even with a reservation and as a Landry Club member, were far too long compared to my expectations (we ended up missing the last water taxi of the evening back to hotel as a result). I don't mind paying for great food and great service. I do mind having to pay for mediocre food and so-so service. The food portions are small compared to what you are paying for. I felt like I was paying more for the view than the food. I am a chef myself and am aware of proper portion sizes, but this was small. The flavors were just ok. For the price I paid, I expect bold flavors, I also don't expect to have to season the food myself. Overpriced food, service that was mediocre and portion sizes that were too small.
