When I checked it at my reservation time, receptionist told me it would be only a 5 or 10 minute wait, tops. After waiting 15 minutes, found out from others with earlier reservations that they had already been waiting for 45 minutes. Returned to receptionist to ask her to please be honest.....so that I could make arrangements to eat elsewhere. After asking the question several different ways, receptionist finally admitted it would be a lengthy wait. Will not be back due to lack of truthfulness and very poor customer service.

McCormick & Schmick's is basically an "expensive" chain restaurant, like Ruth's Chris, but is not worth the price tag. I had a steak, which was average. My wife had the shrimp & grits, which were below average, mainly because the shrimp had too much going on- wrapped in bacon, stuffed with cheese, & covered in sticky barbeque sauce. That would be fine for an appetizer (which they have on the menu as well), but out of place for shrimp & grits. On the positive side, the service was excellent (Charles was our waiter) and the restaurant itself was nice, but again, for what we paid, there are a hundred restaurants in Atlanta I would go to before going back to M & S. The only reason we went this time is because we got a gift certificate from someone!

Wednesday night at prime dinner time but restaurant was unexpectedly empty . Food portions are not large but plenty for the meal. Little on pricey side for amount and quality. Valet service was slow and caused back-up. Group of restaurants in the area should address valet service and parking. For a relatively slow traffic night, would hate to see it on a busy night.

We enjoyed the ambiance at this restaurant, since the fall colors on the trees were beautiful this time of the year (looking out the window). My husband and I started with the crab tower appetizer, which also had avocado, but it needed more sauces to enhance the flavor (not the dabble they gave us). We were very pleased with our entrees, however. My husband loved his rare NY strip, and I enjoyed the stuffed salmon, even though it was very rich with mashed potatoes. We saved room for dessert, a shared creme brulee with fresh berries. The wine selections were outstanding -- I really loved my glass of viogner.

We Visited this restaurant on a Monday night for a dinner meeting. We were lucky to get one of the cubbies. That is a booth set up in a small room. Made the meeting much easier. I ordered the salmon. It was okay, not exceptional in any way. I thought the whole dish looked and tasted a little dry like it sat in a warming oven for a while waiting on other dishes. I'll probably visit the restuarant again but order something else.

The restaurant did everything they could to make our anniversary special. They even printed out a special menu for us with Happy 18th Anniversary at the top. The waiter did a great job explaining the menu. The food's temperature was perfect. I loved all the seafood. I wasn't in love with the clam chowder which was not creamy and had a twang; definitely not what I expected. Overall, a great place for a special occasion

This was my wife's b ' day celebration. The menu was special printed with happy b'day yet no one said anything until i mentioned it. I asked for a quiet spot to sit. The first table they brought us to was next to a party of 18. We picked our table the 2nd time but the private booths remained empty. My food was good. My wife's fish was dry. Did not put their best foot forward on our visit.

If you're looking for a quiet lunch spot, this is a good call. It's almost a little too quiet, though. You start to wonder if you're missing something that the rest of the world knows and you don't. The seafood is good, though, as you would expect here. I do wish that the last health inspection report was stronger than 88/B, however, especially given that we're dealing with seafood here. This place will probably never become my "go to" lunch spot, but if you seafood and quiet, it's a defensible call.

It was my fifth year wedding anniversary and I made reservations in advance. When we got there we were told that there was a wedding. It took about 30 minutes for a waiter to offer us a glass of water. We sat for a long while until my husband decided that he would go and find the waiter. They were apologetic but did not offer any comps. The food was good despite the rest of the incidents.

We have been to this McCormick & Schmick's restaurant many times. Our experience this time was of a restaurant in decline. It was a Friday night and it was mostly empty. In spite of this, it took a long time to be seated. The food was OK but service was sub-par. I ordered from the fresh fish selection. Asking the server about how the side dishes it would come with, I was told mashed potatoes and a mixed vegetable presentation with zucchini and yellow squash with red pepper. It came instead with an Asian stir fry with red peppers and onions with a pool of sweet and sour sauce and a small dollop of rice. The fish was overcooked.

We have been here before & it is usually a great time. Our server was attentive, offered suggestions & brought our food quickly. The steak * Lobster was perfect. Not too overcooked. Cheesecake was a little dense, could have been more fluffy but still tasted good. Pan seared trout was light, flaky & seasoned perfectly.

We have been to M & S many times and it has always been a reliable experience. Not so on my birthday this week. Our waitress took way too much time hard-selling us on their LSE dining program, which we have no interest in, and too little time actually serving us. This resulted in: having to ask three times for the cocktail menu, our wine arriving after our meal was finished, one of us asking three times for cocktail sauce and only getting it when we put it in the to-go box to take home. Net, net - we spent a lot of time waiting for our waitress and did not enjoy the meal. Additionally, and perhaps it was just that the meal was spoiled by the service, but it seemed that food quantity and quality is down and prices are up.

Our waitress was very good. She refilled our drink three times without being asked. My husband loved their happy hour hamburgers. The fries were just OK. I had the seafood special that's cooked in a tomato based soup. All seafood were fresh and tender however the broth was too salty for my taste. The best part was the complimentary crème Brule for my birthday meal. It was delicious! I would go back again but would ask for less salt on my entrée.

There are very few options for substituting. Everything comes with cheddar mashed potatoes. The lobster cobb was drowning in dressing which was so watery it made the salad into lettuce-slaw instead. No seasoning on anything. I had higher expectations.
