  • Quiet lunch spot...

If you're looking for a quiet lunch spot, this is a good call. It's almost a little too quiet, though. You start to wonder if you're missing something that the rest of the world knows and you don't. The seafood is good, though, as you would expect here. I do wish that the last health inspection report was stronger than 88/B, however, especially given that we're dealing with seafood here. This place will probably never become my "go to" lunch spot, but if you seafood and quiet, it's a defensible call.

McCormick and Schmick's is a delicious restaurant with a menu that emphasizes their strengths. I would highly recommend the cashew-encrusted Tilapia, stuffed shrimp, and blue crab dip. The service we received was top notch and their wine list was impressive with many wonderful vintages.

We have been to this McCormick & Schmick's restaurant many times. Our experience this time was of a restaurant in decline. It was a Friday night and it was mostly empty. In spite of this, it took a long time to be seated. The food was OK but service was sub-par. I ordered from the fresh fish selection. Asking the server about how the side dishes it would come with, I was told mashed potatoes and a mixed vegetable presentation with zucchini and yellow squash with red pepper. It came instead with an Asian stir fry with red peppers and onions with a pool of sweet and sour sauce and a small dollop of rice. The fish was overcooked.

We have been here before & it is usually a great time. Our server was attentive, offered suggestions & brought our food quickly. The steak * Lobster was perfect. Not too overcooked. Cheesecake was a little dense, could have been more fluffy but still tasted good. Pan seared trout was light, flaky & seasoned perfectly.

No particular reason, but had not eaten there in years. A mistake. The food and service were exquisite. I had the Marlin and my wife had the scallops. Both cooked to perfection. Also highly recommend The crab and corn chowder soup. Lastly for any fans of NY style cheesecake, these guys got it right. Very thick and creamy. We'll be back!

We have been to M & S many times and it has always been a reliable experience. Not so on my birthday this week. Our waitress took way too much time hard-selling us on their LSE dining program, which we have no interest in, and too little time actually serving us. This resulted in: having to ask three times for the cocktail menu, our wine arriving after our meal was finished, one of us asking three times for cocktail sauce and only getting it when we put it in the to-go box to take home. Net, net - we spent a lot of time waiting for our waitress and did not enjoy the meal. Additionally, and perhaps it was just that the meal was spoiled by the service, but it seemed that food quantity and quality is down and prices are up.

I have been to this restaurant many times & it has been delightful. Went for Vodka & Taco Day, I was overcharged for my drink that was advertised for $5 but I was charged $8.25, the service was slow, Clam Chowder was a mess but the Fish Tacos were great. The waitress was clumsy, dropping everything she touched.

Our waitress was very good. She refilled our drink three times without being asked. My husband loved their happy hour hamburgers. The fries were just OK. I had the seafood special that's cooked in a tomato based soup. All seafood were fresh and tender however the broth was too salty for my taste. The best part was the complimentary crème Brule for my birthday meal. It was delicious! I would go back again but would ask for less salt on my entrée.

There are very few options for substituting. Everything comes with cheddar mashed potatoes. The lobster cobb was drowning in dressing which was so watery it made the salad into lettuce-slaw instead. No seasoning on anything. I had higher expectations.

Meet some friends who stick to chains - - - In Atlanta, we have so many choices at this price level that blow McC/Schmick's away that I would not have booked this..... However, it was ok - nothing wrong but just lacks flavor and style - no dish sticks out as great, no dish was terrible... It's chain food That's really it, so it may just be what you like if you like that "department store" dinning feel

My wife and I had eaten in this restaurant several years ago when visting Atlanta. The food and service were quite good at that time. This visit, however, was very disappointing. We both ordered tuna, which, at $28, is fairly high-priced and does not include salad or soup. When it arrived, the tuna was VERY thinly sliced and there wasn't much of it. The "seasonal vegatables which accompanied my meal were under-cooked and tough. Also, the wine we selected was quite good but at $11 per glass was no great value. Our server was very friendly, attentive and professional. Overall, this was a verydisappointing meal for over $100. We won't dine here again.

i normally don't bother to write food reviews, but i was so pleasantly surprised with my experience at M&S i decided to. Being part of the Landry's chain, i thought it would be consistent, but nothing special. But the food was great, the service was excellent, and i loved the "private room' feel of the booth areas in the dining room. make sure you request that and it will cut down on the noise level. Portions were not huge, but not ridiculous. two thumbs up.

My husband I dined at this location for the first time. It was fairly empty so we had great service. We both ordered the steak and lobster tail special. I ate the majoity of the lobster while my husband ate the majority of the steak. He loved the steak and thought that the lobster was tasty. I found it to be a little too salty. They may have steamed it in a pot of water with to much salt added or the just too much salt in the other items. I'm not sure. My problem was that after dinner and all evening I was so thirsty from all the salt. The Caesar salad was kind of bland but I would return again and try any of the several fish dishes.

My husband and I have always been fans of M & S and loved their fish. However, I have now read about farmed fish and know that it is undesirable for many reasons. I was disappointed to find that all their fish is farmed except maybe 2 and they specialize in fish. With that being said my husband and I both ordered chicken dishes. I ordered the chicken parmesan and he ordered the blackened chicken fettuccini and both were delicious. We did very much enjoy our meal and would go back for those dishes, but were disappointed that we could not order fish. I am surprised that they would go the cheap farmed fish route and not keep their old high standards with wild caught fish.

First of all, we were disappointed in the happy hour. I am a light weight and I couldn't taste any alcohol in the drink I bought. Our friends ordered calamari and half of what was on the plate was fried vegetables and this was not noted on the menu description. The food was expensive for how it tasted. There was a 2.95 upcharge to sub broccoli for squash and it was a VERY small amount and a 2.95 upcharge to substitute roasted potatoes for mashed potatoes. I ordered shrimp and grits for $20+ and it had 4 shrimp! The air was not working as it should have been and it was very hot where we ate. The lobby and bar area was much cooler.

We had high expectations based on our experiences at other Landry's restaurants. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Neither the food or service were representative of fine dining. The waiter seemed to rush us and was a bit sarcastic; however,he did warm up a bit after handing me the bill. He constantly disappeared for long durations, but we were his only table. The food was OK, but for this caliber menu OK is not acceptable. I can get OK almost anywhere. There were no significant problems, but a restaurant in this price range should result in a memorable evening. My rating of an overall "Good" is probably generous. I doubt I'll be back, but do look forward to trying other Landry's restaurants.

Hadn't eaten at McCormick & Schmicks for several years and were really looking forward to it. Server was very good, no complaints there. However, clam chowder was very thin-nothing to brag about. Crabcakes average, herb-crusted wahoo overdone. french fries had a "vinegar" taste, & we were served bread which was enough for perhaps 1 person for our party of 3. Swordfish served with only spinach and no starch, so ended up ordering a side of orzo. Only real bright spot was the tuna tartar appetizer, which was excellent. Overall, I would say the food was average at best, unfortunately, for a high price. We don't mind paying for really good food, but this was not.

We have dined at McCormick's a number of times over the years. The fish is always fresh and the sides and dessert are always good. We had a very nice dinner, starting with calamari which was prepared with fried peppers, artichoke hearts and onions. It was prepared just right and not at all chewy. My husband ordered coho salmon and said it was delicious. I ordered seared ahi tuna and it tasted very good, but was overcooked. We were able to have a very private table in an alcove, making it private and enjoyable. The server was very friendly, efficient, and helpful.

Food was very good as was the service. We arrived early for our reservation so we waited in the bar area. First impression was very negative as we observed the General Manager berate the bartender in a very loud and pointed fashion. My wife and I were the only 2 people in the bar that observed it but it was a very unprofessional and uncomfortable, loud and (in my opinion) a mean spirited rant. It left the lady who was the bartender understandably upset. It was a bad first impression and cast a pall on the meal.
