McCormick & Schmick's Harborside - PortlandVisitorGreat food and service! A must if you are visiting Portland.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice but priceyThe view from Harborside can't be beat, and the food is as good as any M&S restaurant, which is among the best in Portland. However, it's more pricey than other comparable dining downtown. I'd come to Harborside for the view once in a while but cost would keep me from being a regular customer.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Seafood - Wonderful ViewOne of our favorite seafood restaurants, McCormick & Schmick's always exceeds our expectations. My wife and I both enjoyed the shrimp-stuffed salmon which was prepared to perfection. Other times I have ordered shrimp fettuccini, and Jambalaya. Menu options subject to seasonal change. The waiter was cordial and attended to our needs promptly. Views of the river included the boat harbor, with passing riverboats and dragon boats. Traffic outside the restaurant showed people, couples, families out on strolls, some walking, some riding bikes, some on Segways. Warmer weather allows for outside dining. Gift cards available at Costco. M&S membership has its benefits. A truly unique dining experience and Portland gem.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers DayMy wife and I had a very nice lunch on Mothers Day. We both had steelhead with asparagus, which was very good. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry, so we had time enjoy the view. The large window facing the waterfront provides lots of light along with the view. After lunch we had a nice walk along the waterfront and made it to our next stop in plenty of time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent service and foodI had the lobster bisque as suggested by the server...it was remarkable. The rest of the meal was as well from the seared scallops I had to my wife's sizzling salmon. Delicious. Of course, the view was delightful, watching the Spirit of Portland cruise by. And of course, the evening was enhanced by all the prom dates with their colors and beauty.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMsMy date ordered the Steak - $35 He got a nice steak and 3 asparagus spears. If you wanted a salad and or potato cost extra. I just don't think there is a steak worth $35! It can not cost very much to add the potato/salad and make it a full meal. I can buy a whole bag of potatoes for just a couple dollars retail. I had the Cajun Chicken Pasta which was very tasty. Very noisy - couldn't hardly hear each other talk. Also couldn't really hear the waitress while she was trying to sell us on the special, bread, wine, salad, potato. etc...... I also made my reservations on line and had a place to put in a special request.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSavory SalmonI have been a longtime patron of this location (20+ yrs) and every visit is like my very first time - Fantastic! I ordered Shrimp Kisses to start. They were perfectly done and the bacon compliments the shrimp so well. The real highlight was the stuffed salmon. Not only is it visually enticing, but every bite melts in your mouth.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely!Great food, service, and location! Highly recommend.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMost delicious meal I've ever hadMy husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time last week. It was also our first visit to Portland. We had our first meal at McCormick & Schmick's, and it truly set the bar for the rest of our visit! The restaurant is arranged so that every table has a perfect view of the marina right outside. Our waitress was wonderful - very friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made many recommendations for both food and beverages. We tried several of the items she recommended, and everything we had was amazing - the presentation, the flavor combinations, the freshness of the ingredients. I hope to come back the next time we're in Portland and will highly recommend it to friends and family visiting the area!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFun Place!Had a great time. Wanted to sit outside as the weather was beautiful but they didn't have outside sitting but the large windows looking out toward the water were sufficient. The food was delicious! Cucumber martinis are definitely a must try if you have never had one. Our server was great. There was a new manager "in training" that took great care of us also.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI loved the food, ambianceI loved the food, ambiance and service but will never return due to the fact a salad was not included with a $38.00 Entree.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took our out of town guestWe took our out of town guest and had a great time. The dinning room is beautiful, with lots of warm wood tones, multi levels and huge picture windows on one whole wall with a beautiful view of the river. The booth and ambiance were very comfortable, perfect for visiting with friends, we spent 3 hours there! The food and cocktails were also very good, and a good beer selection, and we all enjoyed our meals. On the down size, I felt it was a little over priced: I had the Asian BBQ shrimp with sticky rice. They tasted fantastic, but $21 for four smallish-medium sized shrimp and a half cup of rice was pretty steep. Extensive see food selection with some steaks. Their Happy Hour is great!.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my all time favoriteOne of my all time favorite places when I visit Portland.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAll Around Wonderful ExperienceThe six of us celebrated my son's 9th birthday at the Harborside and had a wonderful time. We ate early since, with kids aged 9 to 19, we didn't want to ruin someone's romantic dinner. It was still light out and we had an excellent view of the dragon boats. The food was so yummy and the presentation was beautiful. I really enjoyed my cocktail - the freshly squeezed juice makes all the difference. The wait staff was friendly and well versed on the menu offerings and was able to make modifications for those who couldn't eat dairy. We had been to the Harborside a couple months before and had such a great experience that time, my son requested we have his birthday dinner there. Bring half your dinner home so you have room for dessert!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMChose M&S's because we wantedChose M&S's because we wanted to show out-of-town guests the river and the bridges. The food we chose was delicious; we had an excellent view from our table, and a very helpful and pleasant staff person spent about 8 minutes on the phone with us to give us directions as we had lost our GPS capability.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Food. Fun Scene on the waFood was really excellent. We were a party of 5 and every one of us ordered something different and cleaned our plates too!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and daughter (adult)My wife and daughter (adult) and I were very pleased with the atmosphere.
