  • "This restaurant has a very special location in the Summer months—outside on the banks of the Willamette River. I requested outdoor seating on my Open Table reservation and we were seated at a great table within minutes on a very busy July 4th evening. Our server, Martinez, was great and personable and took good care of us. My sister and I had the Cedar Atlantic Salmon and my husband had the Parmesan Crusted Sole. All meals were good—for a chain owned restaurant. We split an Heirloom Tomato Salad that was very nice and a Marionberry Pie for dessert that was delicious. That, plus cocktails for 3 and wine by the glass for 2 totaled $146.20 before gratuity. Fair price for the meal, drinks and the very special ambiance."

  • "The experience was fine once we were seated. We arrived right on time for our reservation at 5pm for six people (one 93 year old grandma). Five service / host people were clustered at the door. We requested an outdoor table (there were plenty). We were not seated for 25 minutes. Eventually they said they had to wait until a waiter clocked in. I expect more from a McCormick and Schmick's restaurant. They have always been first rate even through ownership changes. It is now a Landry restaurant. It's very difficult for me to understand how they would let stand around outside the door with so many personnel available, especially considering the age of one of our party. Connor was our server and he did a great job."

  • "Here is what to expect: Having a reservation does not mean there is a table waiting for you. Having a enthusiastic waiter does not mean that good service will follow. Execution (meals arrive at roughly the same time) etc. is sorely absent. What sounds appealing on the menu does not result in even acceptable food. You can expect a restaurant living on its location and pre-Landry name."

  • "The highlight is the location beautiful spot on river. The meal had issues. The heirloom tomatoe salad had good flavour and plate presentation was good. However the hard cores were not removed and detracted from the over experience. My wife had the seared scallops and enjoyed the meal. I had the stuffed shrimp with cheese and red pepper mashed potatoe. The meal was lukewarm the crab stuffing was pasty and lacked flavour. The green beans were the best part of this entree. The restuarant was very busy and presumably overwhelmed leading to long delays between servings."

  • "Delicious food & cocktails, while enjoying a commanding view of the Willamette River. Seated on the third tier of dining, we enjoyed a variety of beautifully prepared dishes while enjoying the Riverwalk and activities on the water. Great waiter ("Chip") rounded out the evening. He balanced a thorough knowledge of food & drink offerings, with convivial humor and great service. I enjoy coming here with friends or by myself equally."

  • "The food was great. The only thing that wasn't good is what I call a "short pour". This means I don't think the amount of scotch that I was getting in my "neat" (no ice no, no water) drink was even an ounce. At $12 a drink, I felt I should have gotten more alcohol. Even my date made a comment about it. Other than that, everything was great."

  • "We really enjoyed M & S Harborside. We took a friend from Australia, it was a very nice dinner. I ordered the Stuffed Salmon with brie cheese and crab and shrimp it was delicious. The calamari appetizer was very tasty and the wine we choose was the very right choice to go with our Seafood dinner. Our waiter was very informative and professional. I put in our reservation a little later in the day and still got a very nice table with a view. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially when out of town guests are in town, or anytime really."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. Our server, Laura, greatly enhanced our dining experience with her warm personality and extensive knowledge of the cocktails and menu. Each dish was both artistic and delicious, and the view of the Willamette and marina truly added an ever-changing vista to our evening. We are excited to go back to Harborside again!"

  • "Arrived at 8:00 which made it easy to get a table. We started with the lobster bisque and the bacon wrapped shrimp. That could have been a meal in itself. Enjoyed the Alaskan salmon with whiskey maple glaze and followed it up with the chocolate bag for dessert, amazing! The staff was perfect, attentive without being intrusive. It was a little pricey but a well deserved splurge to end our visit to PDX."

  • "I can understand when a steak is cooked slightly off the target, but my medium rare ribeye came to me cooked slightly more than medium well. Thank goodness it was a ribeye because it can generally handle a little abuse. The rub used on the steak may have been just salt mixed with a little bit of salt and a dash more salt. My date ordered salmon and she did not care much for her salmon. Neither of us discussed the meal while there, instead we focused our energies on our company. The service was typical until I commented on the steak (which I did not send back because I will not waste food). After my comment, our server did not return until well after we finished our meal and we had decided to skip the post meal cocktail."

  • "My family took me out to dinner for Mother's Day. When we arrived, we were checked in quickly but had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. After we were seated, our server came to the table within five minutes. He took our beverage and appetizer order at that time. We waited several minutes for our drinks to arrive, and by the time they arrived the ice was melting and our drinks were watered down. When the appetizers arrived, the presentation was not what we expected. After we ordered our main entrees, we waited quite a while for them to arrive; when the meals arrived, the food was only warm. We did not send anything back, but we were somewhat disappointed. Our server was very pleasant which is the only thing that salvaged the meal."

  • "The food quality was the most notable thing about our dining experience. As a party of 6 we had oysters, rock-fish, swordfish, and fish & chips. The quality of the oysters and fresh fish was outstanding. My wife, diagnosed with celiac disease, did not have an adverse reaction -a sign of careful preparation as the slightest trace of wheat causes her almost immediate and severe symptoms."

  • "Happy Hour here rocks. Good drinks, great small plates, and lively. A simple slither from the bar to the restaurant for some very good food overlooking the harbor is just too easy. As all McCormicks places, fresh fresh fish, nicely prepared. The halibut was joined by a mildly spicy sauce that was very well done. I'd go back for more if it was on the normal menu but for now just a special. Go and enjoy!"

  • "We went out without our two young kids. So, it was a date for 40-somethings. The waiter was great! and the food was dependable. A good waiter can really make the difference. Only issue: we made a reservation for 7:45 (time of the essence with infant at home) and we didn't get seated until 8:05. What's the point of the reservation?"

  • "Wanted a window table. Got shuttled up above on the 3rd level w no one else on level even though there were tables available at window. Did not appreciate. Sole was soggy. Razor Clams were very good. Salmon had some sort of balsamic reduction on plate that didn't go w the fish. Will not be returning. Service was very good and pleasant. "

  • "Our table was ready and waiting. We had a lovely table by the window and great wait service. The food was very good. All guests ordered a fish entree...each beautiful in presentation and enjoyed by each patron. The breaded fish entrees were very tasty, but could be a little less salty and still very flavorful. We had a wonderful evening! We will return of course...outside dining in the summer has a special feel to the night...we recommend that as well."

  • "We went as a romantic adult only night right before the symphony. It was very busy especially in the bar. We found that perhaps they were so busy the kitchen was rushed? Anyway I got a fish special where the fish was way overcooked - cardboard like - and my partners dish was cold. We had been there before and had walked away pleased. So I don't know if they were having issues in the kitchen or what, but for $100+ I expect better for my money. Don't think we will go back."

The potatoes served with the egg dishes were dry (recurring theme) and unappetizing. We would not return. They also sprang a tacky sales pitch to join some sort of Landry Restaurants club where you earn points. Really? "

  • "Dissapointed. Made reservation for Easter Brunch 2 weeks in advance. First they tried to seat us way in the back of the restaurant, no view. Approx 25% full so plenty of better tables available. Why reward someone who makes a reservation with a poor table? Requested better table and got a table for two by the window with a view. Bananas Foster was disappointing. Sent back for powdered sugar and then the babanas must have been green because they were very firm. I ordered the $10 Bloody Mary and asked for more olives. Never got them but server returned to see if I wanted another Bloody Mary. Below average service and below averag tip"
