  • "I have eaten here on many occasions and the food is reliably good. I had the salmon which was a tad overcooked but still excellent. The waitstaff was willing to accommodate my request for a different side vegetable dish which also was quite tasty. It took me a little while to find a wine that I liked but the waiter made sure he checked with the bartender and a manager came over to make sure that I enjoyed my pick. Would definitely recommend this restaurant as a great choice with lots of restaurants near the theater district (although I was not going to theater that night)"

  • "The cocktail menu was creative. I loved the ginger julep and the kentucky smash. Although we never had to look around for our waiter, he was aloof, did not make suggestions and did not make eye contact. He was easy to wave over, but he did not check on our satisfaction with the meal. The food was overcooked (I ordered the stuffed shrimp and a side lobster tail). The lobster meat was tough and the shrimp tasted as if they had been sitting out for a while. It was not worth the almost $50 we paid for it. My boyfriend had the steak tips and lobster. He received four quarter sized steak pieces and his lobster tail was also overcooked. The waiter was unsure if his course came with a side vegetable and suggested he order a side "just in case". "

  • "Although this is a "chain" restaurant, the food is always good here, with very reliable sea food and steaks. We like the way the tables are set up, with some very private booths, some banquettes that are great for just two, and wait-staff who are always there to please and very helpful with selections. The menu seems to have shrunk a little from our last dinner there but the selection was broad. I tend to stay away from fish "stuffed" with anything, but this dish was excellent as was my wife's steak, with a made-to-request pepper sauce on the side. We have never had a meal we didn't enjoy at this Park Plaza location."

  • "The staff went above and beyond to make our experience great. We had a free appetizer (valued at $12.99) and they allowed us to go with the more expensive option ($15.99) for no additional charge. The waiter gave us updates throughout and had some good suggestions on entrees. Lastly, since it was our anniversary dinner they gave us a free dessert."

  • "This is a fancy restaurant with great food and expensive prices to match. I ordered a glass of champagne, handed my I.D to the waitress, and was asked "How old are you?" Excuse me? I thought I was dining at a fancy establishment not a nightclub. It is extremely rude for someone to ask another person how old they are, especially a woman. We also had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. The food was excellent though. I had lobster bisque and stuffed shrimp. They were out of the bacon kisses. Overall good, but service and hostesses could improve."

  • "This was our first time eating at McCormick & Schmick's in Boston. I discovered them from a recommendation online when searching for restaurants near the Charles Playhouse. The menu looked like one both my husband & I would easily be able to choose from. I had the Cashew crusted Tilapia and he chose the Shrimp Scampi, both of which were delicious as well as appealing when presented. Then we shared the Crème Brulee for dessert. Heavenly!!"

  • "Its a national chain restaurant, so one shouldn't expect too much. Menu wasn't overly inspiring, and food wasn't either. It wasn't a bad experience, but with so many other choices in the area, it is just middle of the pack. Their markup on wine was pretty steep, with a $15 bottle going for $60 there."

  • "I used to truly enjoy this restaurant, the extensive menu, the buzz. It has really gone downhill. The food was mediocre, small portions, and not inexpensive. We arrived fifteen minutes early for our reservation, and then waited an hour to be seated, and the restaurant was not busy. The overall atmosphere seems run down, it avoided being a "hitel restaurant" for so long, but now it is just that."

  • "Service was great. Our server paced the delivery of food and drink very well. Two of us ordered from the special restauant week menu. The others from the regular menu which had cheaper prices than the restauant week menu. While the food was good it was a bit on the cool side. Most of us had the same thought. One of the ladies especially liked the idea the server offered a black napkin to cover her black pants instead of the white that often leaves lint on black clothes."

  • "1. The waiter was at the same time inattentive and obnoxious 2. Three of us ordered two dishes, a seared Ahi and a grilled swordfish, both of which were recommended by the waiter. The Ahi was inedible and had to be sent back. The swordfish was dry and overcooked. 3. Once it was clear we were unhappy, the manager on duty tried to make amends--but in a very forceful way. He and the waiter would not leave us alone, even aftyer we clearly stated that we did not want to order anything else. Never in a million years would I go back to this restaurant."

  • "We were seated almost one hour after our reservation time this past Saturday night. After numerous inquiries to the hostess, who told us that the table we were going to be seated at was still "chatting," we come to find out that the kitchen was backed up, and that was the real reason for the delay. We don't appreciate being lied to! Needless to say, things only got worse after that. We arrived at 7 pm, were seated at 8 pm, got dinner at 10 pm (yes, 10 pm) and finally left at 11 pm. The meals were burnt too. Although some of the staff and managers did their best to apologize and accommodate us, some times you just need to cut your losses and move on. I think that is what we will chalk this reservation up to..."

  • "My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's Day and had a really nice time. We sat at the bar for a little bit as we got there really early, and the bartenders were great. Very frindly, made fantastic drinks. One of the bartenders even went and checked with the hostess to see if our table was ready. We had a great table and the dining room is really nice. Our waitress was great too- really funny and extremely helpful. The appetizers were great but the steaks were a little bland. Cooked well but just didn't taste seasoned at all. Overall we had a fine time."

  • "Although we had been to M & S's several times in the past, it had been awhile since our last meal there. I checked reviews on Yelp and, to be kind, they were pretty bad overall. But it was conveniently located for plans later that Valentine's Day night, so we decided to go ahead. We were pleased to find it better than the reviews and much like what we remembered from past visits. We were wished "Happy Valentine's Day" several times by various staff members and our server was personable and efficient. Something that reviewers had complained about. The calamari fritto app was very good, as was the chopped salad. We both had shrimp dishes (prepared differently) and they were very good as well. Overall, a very good dining experience!"

  • "This was a great place for a nice meal. The food was excellent and very carefully prepared. My only complaint is I feel they should have something to offer while choosing your meal such as bread and Olive oil before you know what to order. Appetizers were great the shrimp kisses were very good, as well as both the wedge salad and clam chowder before the meal. The filet was cooked perfectly, as well as the Cajun pasta was very flavorful. The atmosphere was great, and there could have been a better background music, as there didn't seem to be any. Service was excellent as you hope at such a restaurant. Overall great experience!"

  • "Reserved a table at McCormick & Schmick's prior to going to see the Blue Man Group. Service was attentive. My wife tried to order the Swordfish but was informed by the waiter that they had sold out ( a Seafood restaurant out of Swordfish at 6:15pm?). Our orders of Lobster Tail / Steak and Blackened Mahi were average, not outstanding. I tried to order Expresso after dinner andthe waiter informed me that the Expresso machine didn't make good Expresso, very odd. This Restaurant was average at best. Probably would not go back."

  • "I recently dined at McCormick and Schmick on a Sunday night. It was not crowded at all. When we ordered our food and drinks, we were told the restaurant was out of three of four items we tried to order. I made a STRONG point to tell the waiter about my food allergy and to please check with the chef regarding my choice. He assured me it was fine. After starting to eat, he realized there was a problem with the dinner. If this is how they deal with food allergies... I was still charged for this dinner and have asked the management for a credit but with no resolution. I definitely will not be returning here!!"

  • "The seafood was amazing! The Callamari was a fantastic appetizer for two. The shrimp trio was so good and was the perfect size so that I didn't feel overly stuffed. The drinks were also great. It was the perfect dinner out before our New Years Eve festivities. Also, the fact that we didn't have to go outside in the bitter cold to get to the restaurant was a huge bonus."

  • "We had a group of 8 people; friends celebrating new years eve. We were seated around 9:20 / 9:30 pm. The service was fine, the appetizers were very good, however, the entrees were dissapointing. Several of us ordered the 'steak & lobster'. The steak was tiny - three small slices. and the lobster tail was so over cooked, you could not cut it, never mind eat eat. There were more vegetables on the plate than there were steak or lobster. Won't be back. Kim Reilly"
