In San Francisco with so many unknown seafood venues, M & K was my choice for a special occasion dinner. I could not have made a better choice. The menu choices, oyster selection, dessert, server, wines not to mention the view of the bay and Alcatraz were spectacular.

We sat for 15 min with no acknowledgement that we were there. No water. No bread. No "someone will be right with you". Finally one of our party approached the host and we did get someone to come over to our table. They all seemed terribly confused and scattered - no one knew who was handling our table. Even after our meal was underway we found the service to be terriably slow. I doubt we will return. There are so many better options in the area

Service was horrible considering the price point. The waiter knew nothing about the menu. I asked him question regarding the crab or the lobster. He said "whatever you feel like having" no selling points were provided. He didn't pour our wine for us. He didn't know anything about the wine list. They didn't provide serving utensils for the side dishes. They didn't clear our plates. the host/manager was aloof and seemed like he was waiting to get off the clock. Way overpriced for the service. There were little kids running around everywhere.

This was a special event meal arranged with the help of a hotel concierge. The restaurant has a very scenic view and we were seated at a booth which provided privacy and a great view. Our service we delayed taking about 2 hours to have crab cake, soups, and entree. The crab cake was the best we have ever eaten. There was enough to easily share. The clam chowder was oversalted and attempted to be repaired. The lobster bisque was only fair, had been oversalted and was overpriced for the serving received. Our entrees were small on the protein and large on the vegetables. The halibut steak that my wife received was very small as it is was the last one cut from the fish. My filet was undercooked with a bad burnese sauce topping for $60!

Food was very good, though a bit on the expensive side (paying for the magnificent view). Waiter was highly professional and very helpful. The bonus was the fireworks show over the bay (done every Saturday during October). Negative: a 5% "tax" added for "doing business in SF". This is ridiculous and easily hidden by tacking on an extra 5% to the menu prices.

First of all, only by being registered at Open Table I was able to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday evening. Food - good to very good. No complaints here. Service - average. Prices - Ghirardelli Square - I expected to pay a premium. What highly disturbed me and mage me lower the rating was i) on the menu was a note advising patrons that there is a 5% surcharge "the price of doing business in San Francisco" [why not just increase the prices?!?!], and ii) on the menu the tip was suggested and on the check again was listed for various percentages. Didn't like it at all. Usually I over tip, but in this case it left me such a bad taste! I still tipped the max suggested, but come on!

My boyfriend's father came to town along with seven colleagues from Germany, most seeing San Francisco for the first time. We needed a place to accommodate a party of ten, plus wanted an impressive view and delicious food. Since this was the executive management team of the company, we needed something upscale but not too stuffy with food that is unique to San Francisco. Since they wanted to see the wharf and waterfront, the location was perfect! Our server was awesome, and everyone enjoyed their food. We especially liked the wine selection -- Frank Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is delightful! The seafood dishes were fresh and interesting. The panoramic views of the water were beautiful, especially at sunset!

We were celebrating wedding reception dinner with 10 people. Food, wine, service all good until GM Toby told us to quiet down because people complained. He was rude and short and ruined our evening. We spent a lot of $$ and everyone was enjoying our special day and Toby did not handle the situation well. We ended up disappointed choosing the restaurant...

Had our first date here in 1975. Different restaurant then, but came back to revisit the occasion. The view here is worth the visit, and we were provided a great table. Had lunch at around 1PM. I ordered their Fish & Chips. Fish was hot. Fries were not. Three very small ling cod filets fried just right. Not greasy. Lots of fries. Coleslaw was very similar to KFC's (which I like). My wife ordered the salmon club. It looked great. However, she hates mayonnaise and ordered "No Mayo." It came with mayo. Wait staff were no where to be found; so we had no opportunity to easily request a fix. She ate some of it anyway, but the food experience for her was spoiled.

We dined at this restaurant for our last night in San Francisco. Since all of our party had not arrived, we waited to be seated. While waiting, other parties without reservations were given nice tables by the window. After talking and looking at us from behind a menu, they finally said they would seat us. We were taken to the worst table in the restaurant. Our waiter was so busy, he literally RAN between tables. Fifteen minutes passed between appetizers and salads. During our meal, the bar dragged TWO LARGE, OVERFLOWING GARBAGE cans right past our table. Totally unacceptable!Tables were taken down loudly and carried out past us from the private dining room. Not enjoyable at all.

We took some out of town visitors in SF on business here for dinner and it worked perfectly. We had the bay view during sunset and enjoyed the round tables along with window wall. This works well for groups like that and the easy parking is also helpful. Seafood was all good with good Sturgeon and salmon dishes. The service was attentive and we never had to wait for any help

I was nervous about coming here thinking it would be just tourists and after reading reviews on another website. Our waiter Steven was wonderful. He made the dinner flow at just right, no rush, well paced. My daughter's salmon was cooked perfectly. The crab cake, crab tower, calamari appetizers were very good. The eggplant terrine was so so. When my mother wanted to take her bread bowel home Steven even gave her a small container of clam chowder to take home, so unexpected. Our group of six got lucky and got a window table. The only downside to our dinner was the price. Still, I would come here again. My dinner experience makes me question the validity of the other website reviews and filters.

The food was not up to past standards. Ordered a whole crab and it came that way. Only the top shell was loose. None of the pieces was even cracked, and the waiter offered to separate the main body as it was beyond my strength to break it. The bread was meager and tough. Not the usual FRESH, warm sourdough that has become a standard at San Francisco restaurants. Great location and view, disappointing food.

We ended our trip here because of the spectacular view. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time to a half empty restaurant and was told we couldn't be seated for about 20 minutes. We had a drink at the bar and should have left after that. We sat there for about 15 minutes before a waiter arrived and it was spotty from there. The lobster bisque soup which is a staple at this food chain was oily and had some green drizzle on the top I couldn't figure out. I wanted the seared tuna without the cajun spicing and they brought sashimi tuna. It was ok. This place is expensive, so have a drink at the bar and enjoy the view and leave for a one of the hundreds of other better restaurants in the area.

We have been happily going to McCormick & Kuleto's for many years. Last Sunday my wife, our two cousins from Ireland and I, lunched there. It took 35 minutes to get our bottle of wine, longer than that to get the not very good oysters,(two of the menu oysters were not available) and the patrole soul was dry and over cooked. The best part of our experience was the table location.

Given its location in the heart of the Wharf area, this could be just another tourist churn and burn restaurant. On the contrary, the food was very well prepared, portions were generous and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Justin, was not only prompt and attentive as he should be, but made us all comfortable with his humor and personality. Extensive menu, good cocktails and reasonable, yet deep wine list. We would go back without hesitation.

We should have listened to the reviews that said the service was terrible. By far the worst I have ever experienced especially for the price. The server even went as far as claiming my fiance was lying about the time we sat at our table - never apologized for her inappropriate comments, unprofessionalism or the lack of service we received. The manager was very apologetic and tried to make our evening as enjoyable as possible. The food was mediocre at best and rather tasteless. We will most definitely never be returning nor recommend it to anyone which is unfortunate because the view is amazing.

It was one of the worst experiences my husband and I, as well as a friend, whom we invited, have had in our considerable experience in dining out. Our "waiter" brought (in order of occurrence} drinks not ordered by us (twice) wrong appetizers as well as entrees ! Finally other waiters after an hours wait on our part, brought us our meals. On a first time vacation in San Fransisco the week of my birthday, we wanted to go to someplace special, friends were coming up from LA to meet us. Seated by the window, with that awesome view of the Bay our large party of 9 was excellently served. Stand outs were the Lingine w/white clam sauce, Cheese Tortellini, Stuffed Salmon and the Fillet Mignon.. not so was the Shrimp Scampi. Would recommend for any occasion.. Had a wonderful meal on the SF waterfront @ Fisherman's Wharf. Incredible views at dusk. We had the Lobster bisque soup which had lots of lobster meat in it and was delicious but needed a splash of something (sherry) to make it perfect. The dungeness crab cake appetizer was outstanding. For our entrees, we had the pan seared sea scallops and the lime ginger pacific snapper. Both were excellent. Service was very efficient but not overly friendly.

Was a place I use to go to celebrate birthdays and to recommend to tourists, but not anymore. Portions were small (compared to previous visits)especially the calamari, I even had to ask if that was a half portion. Vegetable sides on the grilled fish orders were overdone and wilted. I order "Chef Romero's Featured items" ....Bacon Crusted Sturgeon....received the grilled sturgeon instead and returned that, when I received my correct order, it looked as if it was thrown together.....very bland, nothing special. The only thing that was good was the free dessert for the birthday.

Great place to take out of town guests for a fantastic view and decent food, comfortable seating, though it is quite expensive. The stuffed salmon was fantastic, good New England chowder, so-so scallops, sourdough bread a bit rubbery. Repeated problems (big delays) with our alcoholic beverage orders, apparently because they were to come from the backed-up bar. But I would return.
