Mazzatexcellent flavorsWe booked a table here because our usual pre-S.F. Symphony spots were all unavailable and it's only four blocks from Davies Hall. We were really surprised at the excellent dishes. Each dish has a range of different flavors, all working together, none overpowering the others. They must have a secret source for spices because the flavors were different, and better, than we've tasted before. The baklava was served warm and with a lovely presentation. If you go, DO have the cardamon coffee.
We'll be back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMazzat - wow!My wife & I didn't know what to expect when we booked a table at Mazzat, but what a find it was. I have been there a couple times now and the food is always delicious. It is such a fun restaurant for a group as you can order several small plates and taste a variety of foods. The dishes are flavorful and prepared with fresh ingredients. We had never had Lebanese food and didn't know what to expect. It was wonderful! Fabulous food and great service. We will return.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the Ouzi!I've lost count of how many times we have visited Mazzat, either as a couple or with a few friends, but this was our first time with a large party of 7. They did an amazing job! Treated us like old friends (I guess we visit often enough they recognize us), food was fantastic (try the Ouzi), service was stellar. Well done, I dare say we will be back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely meal beforeWe had a lovely meal before the Ballet. The service was very helpful - both the staff who came to our table. Enjoyed both a different taste and a different wine. Quite easy to get to for a night at the Ballet, Opera or Symphony.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLebanese in a Casual SettingGreat casual addition to the Hayes Valley dining scene. We ate here before a recent symphony concert and were delighted with the tasty selection of small dishes. Can recommend the humus with tiny cubes of beef on top, the green beans, and the slices of grilled haloumi cheese. We also tried the chicken and artichoke pita pizza, good too. Baklava was acceptable, but not the best rendition we've had. Will definitely go back to sample some other dishes.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a find in the TheaterThis was a find in the Theater district. The five of us came here before a ballet showing and had a great time. We ordered lots of small plates to share and were delighted. Fantastic eggplant notes throughout. Loved the taboule and the eggplant dish in the hot mezze starting with an M :-). Pizza is yummy and good to share. We enjoyed the desserts and the coffee nicely presented in the traditional serving wear. The ambiance was very nice and we were seated by a soothing waterfall. Highly recomend.2/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
