This was out first trip to NYC and my first time at one of Chef Ramsays restaurants. My friend and I had the Beef Wellington and we can't stop talking about how amazing it was. We wanted to try it because we watch Hell's Kitchen and he only allows perfect Beef Wellingtons and now we know why! Almost went there again tonight but didn't manage to get back... We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

The food was delicious but service unacceptable! Especially for a Gordon Ramsey spot! Many patrons were complaining. Lunchtime, not a big crowd, not busy, very slow service not attentive to patrons' needs.

We enjoyed lunch mainly because it wasn't crowded and we weren't rushed. The food was good but not exceptional. The wine by the glass was a small serving at an expensive price. We would go back but wouldn't rush to get there.

We were visiting New York for my 26th birthday and had eaten at The London steakhouse for dinner. We then decided to do Maze for brunch. Expecting the same service. we were suddenly proven very wrong. Whoever the hostess was, was very rude and even rolled her eyes at us. We asked to be sat in another table since the restaurant was empty and didn't want to be directly in front of the entrance, apparently that was a problem. Food was amazing and the rest of the staff was very friendly, but right off the bat I was already annoyed and not looking forward to brunch. I believe that service is just as important as the quality of the food and service does affect your experience.

While the food was great, the service was lackluster at best. At one point, my wife and I sat with empty plates in front of us for about ten minutes. No one ever checked to see if everything tasted okay and my water glass stayed empty for the majority of the meal. I'd venture to say, had Ramsay seen this level of service, he'd kick the servers out of the restaurant and do it himself. The kicker was the restaurant only had about eight tables, so there was no excuse for poor service. We never knew our servers name and then we all of sudden had someone else at the end of the meal. Overall, I was disappointed by the meal, due mainly to the poor service and would not recommend spending your money until they can focus on the things that count.

Last time I ate here was about 4 years ago. I stay at the London West Hollywood all the time so I'm familiar with the standards at both properties. Food...great, reception...attentive, but we were seated by the kitchen and I was looking directly at some service trays covered with some strange sheet, made it look like there were renovations happening. The waiters were also less attentive than usual, perhaps just a slow night. Minor criticisms really, it's still all very nice, just noticeable the energy that was there 4 years ago seems to have disappeared

We were visiting New York for my husbands 40th birthday. I made reservations a couple months in advance through Open Table and was disappointed upon arrival that there was no record of our reservation despite having confirmation emails from Open Table. However, they were able to seat us and the rest of the evening was delicious and blissful. The service was outstanding on all levels and the food was everything we had hoped. Our main dish was the beef wellington which was by far the best I have eaten. (and I like my wellington!) We will definitely return.

Have been to several of Gorden Ramsay restaurants including Verre in Dubai (whilst under his charge), and Las Vegas, both the pub and the burger place. I recall in Verre his recipe for beef wellington included a pork sliced wrapped around the meat. Since I don't eat Pork I couldn't indulge. However this recent receipt is pure meat and pastry. It was simply stunning. Cooked to perfection. Overall very friendly wait staff and good ambience. Not too stuffy - simply smart casual. Highly Recommend!

Seated straight away. You can wear whatever you like so there was a mixed bag of outfits. Posh decor. Foreign staff (we expected stereotypical Americans but they were not). Were given warm sliced bread in a glass to snack on whilst we decided what to order. There was a tasting menu & a normal menu. Food all nice on tasting one. Fish under cooked for us but cooked perfectly for those that like it cooked that way. Were given a corn soup in an espresso cup to cleanse our pallet but the staff didn't know what was in it when we asked. Nice though. Tap water free. Wine expensive. Cocktails average price. Desserts were gorgeous! Got a plate with congratulations & a free mini dessert on it with a candle lit as we were on honeymoon. Would go again!

I've never been to a Ramsey restaurant, but given his reputation of someone who is demanding and has the highest standards, I was suprised at the very average food quality. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out for me as a great meal. We did the 3 course Prix fixe which was reasonablly priced. Given other reviews, I wasn't expecting great service, but was pleasantly surprised that it was attentive and friendly. My biggest knock was that the red wine we ordered must have come straight from the cellar and was too cold to drink immediately.

Cocktail drinks were very good. Service was good. I was less impressed by the food especially given the price and the fact that it bears the name Gordon Ramsay. For Starters, we had the Deviled Eggs which were great, and the tater toots which were ok. The Bronzini was very good whereas the risotto was a little too runny and not enough of the flavors associated with the ingredients came through. Finally for dessert we had the chocolate decadence which was very good. Again good but not great for the price.

We were seated later than our reservation, but the service we received and the food were excellent. Towards the end though, service did lag for a while (not sure if it is due to a shift change or not). Dessert came out much later than our food. We had the branzino (awesome), scallop risotto (not as creamy as it should be, tasted a bit dry, but the scallops were perfect), and the lobster pot pie (delicious, but a tad too salty). For dessert we had the Peach, Chocolate Decadence, and the Key Lime. Try the Chocolate Decadence and the Key Lime desserts. The Peach dessert was not good though. Overall, we had a great experience.

Boyfriend and I can here for a pre theater dinner but was so disappointed. Being a huge fan of the his how's we were both really excited about trying Maze out. Granted maybe when u order from a prix fix menu the portion and the taste are all to be discounted but really, I was just so disappointed with what came out. I had the grill watermelon salad and the scallop risotto while my guy had the Caesar salad type salad and the branzino. The fish was the only highlight, but would not have been enough for a grown man. The service is spotty, sometimes attentive but sometimes not. Even had help from other patrons to wave down the waiters for us. Prob wouldn't be back again, there is a reason why Ramsay is losing his stars.

The service was the worst that I along with my 5 friends have ever had for restaurant week. We waited 40 minutes for our reserved table, 20 minutes for them to take our order. They never refilled our water, or asked if we needed anything. We served our own wine. We waited 15 minutes for them to clear our dishes for dessert. We had to ask them to do it. We waited another 15 minutes and had to call someone over to give us the check. It was written that with 6 or more persons, gratuity was included. After we paid the check we, not them, realized that they did not include it and we had to redo our credit cards. The food was so bland we had to go to another table for salt & pepper because we could not find a waiter to ask for it.

Gordon Ramsey should have Maze featured on his newest TV series, Restaurant Nightmare. Service was a mess. We sat at our table for 10 minutes with no one even stopping to say they would be with us in a minute. Waiters could not be understood, we had to wave our hands to get any attention. Long waits between courses, and despite empty beer glasses, we had to flag down a waiter to request another. Food was ok, however, when service is this distracting, it is hard to enjoy the meal.

I wanted to like it but it turns out to be one of the worst restaurant I have been to :-( Only thing good was the wine and the sommelier. No serving utensils for the shared side dishes, nor a sharing plate given . The lobster pot pie was too salty and runny. The roasted cauliflower was cold. No server ever came back to ask how the food was or if we need anything. No refill of water. No one just cared. And they were not that busy. There were some empty tables.

It was a let down. I hope Chef Ramsay knows about this restaurant's reviews and ratings.Food was decent isnt horrible but takes forever for each course and everything you needed wasnt on the table already or if they take your silverware for every course it should be replaced for next instead of having to ask for it and i understand most restaurants would hope their customers would enjoy the food as is without any salt or pepper or any additional seasonings but if you have it set on other tables why not all? Plus it may not even be a bad thing it can just be to the customer's liking. So majority of the bad rating would have something to do with their service but overall its a Gordon Ramsay restaurant & i expected it to be worth talking about

We were so looking forward to dining here. What saved the day was the Weelington. Just as good as expected. But too many other things were off. The service was clunky. We had to tell them how to course our meal and then still had to tell them no we are not ready for our salad because our appetizers are still here! The restrooms were in awful condition. Which I reported twice with no response. The wine list was ridiculously over priced In a nearly empty restaurant we had to say no to table next to wait service stand. Just not a great experience. We expect more from you Mr. Ramsey.

I had a group of friends meet at the Maze this week for Restaurant Week. Everything that we ate was great, but the special menu was very sparse. There were only 2 appetizers & 2 entrees ( one of which was Cod! - not really a favorite with most people - though it was reportedly excellent) & 1 delicious dessert. We go to many RW restaurants, but most give more choices. Also, the paired wine suggested for the Restaurant Week menu was $22 per 4 0z glass. We chose a$65 Somona Cutrer which was wonderful! It's really a very lovely spot to go.

My daughter is a big Ramsay fan, so we just had to try this restaurant. Our waiter was a bit stuffy. He basically brushed me off when I asked his opinion of the two entrees I was deciding between, never introduced himself to us, or attempted to make any kind of friendly conversation. That being said, other than taking our order, the entire wait staff would check on our table every time we went by. Dirty plates were cleared quickly, water was always full, etc. Food was all beautiful to look at and delicious. Dessert was definitely a highlight. The Chocolate Decadence was amazing.
