Maysville is an American whiskey bar and restaurant with a menu of smoked and charred food and raw and chilled seafood.
The bar at Maysville features over 200 American whiskeys as well as an ample selection of Scotch, Irish, Canadian and Japanese whiskeys. Vodka, gin, rum and tequila lovers will also find their drink of choice in fine supply. Our obsession doesn't stop with whiskey and other spirits. A wine list deep in vintage and diversity and a carefully curated selection of over 20 beers round out the drink options.Continued

  • "Pretty much everything we had was great - totally met my Southerner standards for delicious, elevated Southern food. The crispy grits - basically fried cubes of grits - were one of the most delicious things I've eaten in a while, and the scallops appetizer was amazing as well. Ditto the crispy oysters. I loved the cornbread before the meal and the truffles after. The cocktails were perfectly mixed. The only downside was that the service was a little slow at pretty much every point of the meal - we had to wait around 10 minutes for each drink order, including the whiskey we ordered straight. Our waiter was not particularly friendly. Would recommend eating here once, but ambiance/crowd is very new, rich, boring Manhattan."

  • "The grits here are amazing! I'm from the South and it's a nice twist on one of my favorites. The staff is very friendly and seem genuinely interested in making your experience enjoyable. My friends rave about the bloody marys though never tried one myself. The ambiance is cool for a brunch time spot, and always leave feeling satisfied."

  • "I could go on and on about how delicious the food was. The whitefish mousse is a must try! I started with the soft-shell crab appetizer and it was the best soft-shell crab I have ever tasted. I wish that was an entree. I also had the pollock and it was also very good. I don't remember what the rest of my group (there were 5 of us) had because we did polish off 3 bottles of wine. We will definitely go back to this restaurant."

  • "Our office used to be above Maysville and we went there twice a month. It is consistently great. The menu changes a lot and that makes for great surprises. The food is always fresh and tastes great with great presentation. Highly recommend this for business and casual lunches...never been there for dinner as I havent had the occassion to do so, but they've got a lot of whiskey at the bar."

  • "It was my second time going, the first was a really great experience, great food and service. I even remember a manager or owner coming over to ask how everything was. This time the food was still great but the service was lacking. Very slow, we even spoke about it at the table how long it was taking to get our first round. It was a Monday night so not as busy as a Thursday. When we left we noticed we were the last table to leave. The staff seemed more annoyed that we were still there than happy to serve us. We passed through the bartender and wait staff and no on even said good night or thanks for coming. I would still go back because the food really is good but I hope this last time was just an off night."

  • "With a group of nine arriving early on a Friday evening (5:30-ish), including a personal friend of Chef Kyle, we were treated like royalty! The food was all delicious ... The grits dish was a favorite! From Brick Chicken to Trout to Steak everyone loved their entrees. Desserts were also original and delicious! I can't wait to go back. p.s. The horse drawings on the wall are even more impressive in person than in the photos. WOW~Art and food!"

  • "We were in the area and were looking for something yummy. For the most part we found it. Everything we ordered was good, but some of the dishes, including the corn bread they bring to the table, were excessively salty. The smoked char and the slow cooked char were excellent! The grits, steak tartar and the duck were tasty, but the amount of salt made it difficult to enjoy completely. We will defiantly give it another try."

  • "The decibel level in here is very high -- and I do mean VERY high. We are older than the typical clientele but not old fogies, still it was hard to hear each other seated closely together. Food was very interesting and high quality. The service is very attentive and accommodating. They were quite embarrassed to get my order wrong (delivered oysters rather than scallops) and then they ran out of scallops and could bring me only one. It was not charged for and I got to select something else. Slightly odd experience but the people-watching is great and I enjoyed a very nice cocktail (there with non-drinkers, alas). Wish NY restaurants would recognize and highlight CA wines, especially Chardonnays!"

  • "My husband is a huge bourbon fan, so we wanted to try this spot. It did not disappoint. The huge selection of bourbon is nice to have, and the cocktails are nice, but the star here at Maysville is the food: absolutely perfect flavors on a nicely curated menu meant to pair with the drinks. We tried four dishes tonight, the cornbread and the small plate of after dinner sweets. There was not a thing we did not like. I definitely need to come back to try out the other items on the menu. Clearly, there is culinary magic at work in the kitchen here and the chef will soon be, if not already, a huge name in the NYC food scene. Thank you, Maysville, for making date night really worthwhile. I cannot recommend this place enough! 5 stars!"

  • "As always, I had a fantastic meal at Maysville. This is quickly becoming my go to restaurant because it never disappoints. The market driven menu is fantastic. Everything was delicious, but the tomato Salad, nettle-filled pasta and Arctic char were definitely standouts. Make sure to save room for dessert. The chocolate and peanut butter tart is out of this world. And always take advantage of the extensive bourbon list! Or you can stick with a classic whiskey cocktail, like an old fashioned or Manhattan, that the bartenders at Maysville make perfectly. Such a great restaurant!"

  • "Impeccable service and great Bourbon whiskey begin the evening followed by an amazing southern foods presented in a manner that excites your taste buds with every bite. The Grit's and oyster appetizers are a must. Everyone in our group raved about their entries (steak, chicken, duck and Article char) from their presentation, size of portions and the way the Chief blended the vegetables, fruits and spices into a flavor filled master piece of culinary perfection. Then when you thought it couldn't get any better the Pastry Chief provides you with mouth watering desserts that completes the evening and leaves you asking for more. A must place to go when you are in NYC."

  • "The food here is SO good!! I have had both brunch AND dinner, and I could not have asked for a better meal!! The presentation of the food (platting, platters, colors, etc) is beautoful. Not to mention -- THE DESSERTS!!! Chef Caroline Schiff is a mastermind. Her flavor combinations are delicious. I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate peanut butter tart!!!"

Incredibly good. Our wines and small tasting of bourbon (a specialty of the house) were excellent. The service could not have been better. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun. Great crowd!I am definitely returning."

  • "Great place to bring a man in your life as they have an extensive Bourbon list. The hay roasted oysters and crab toast are amazing! My mother got the crispy polenta, and it was definitely so delicious I would recommend it to anyone. Drinks are all great, even if your not a huge whisky fan they still taste great and are not over powering (actually quite refreshing). Also, the decor was great, over all I was very pleasantly surprised by this place since I didn't really know what to expect when coming!"

  • "The food is excellent & the people couldn't be nicer but Maysville needs to put down some rugs or acoustic tiles bc this place is so loud you will have to shout all night to have a conversation. I've been here twice and the second time asked for the back room, which is supposed to be quieter, but it was like sitting under a 747 vs. a rocket ship-- still awful. Which is really a shame bc the food is terrific and the Bourbon selection the best in city but I will never go back until they deal with the noise problem. I was hoarse the next day. I don't know how the staffers take it."

  • "Every dish was finished with far too much butter. Nothing tasted like it should've except my wife's fish. My pork belly & sausage? Too rich. Friend's rick chicken? Too rich. Every appetizer - too rich. Ugh. Someone was in the kitchen who shouldn't have been. I've eaten at Maysville many times and never had such terrible food put on my table. Total disappointment. First time for everything, I suppose. I'll try it again but if this is a new chef and new preparations, I won't be back after that."

  • "Took my daughter and her boyfriend for dinner at the recommendation of a friend. What a find. The food is simply fantastic. We all ordered dessert simply because we had to see if the wonderfulness would continue and told them to bring whatever they wanted. The drink menu, all with the Kentucky theme, is awesome. If you like Whiskey you'll think you died and went to heaven. Service was awesome. We all had fish, and shared the smoked fish table spread to start. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Its new on the scene so you are dealing with mobs....yet."
